I’m not going to use this particular blog anymore! This blog is a mess, and I’m ready to start over again on a new account. I’ve redone the rules, about, everything, and I’m excited to start threading as soon as my theme is done.

This blog is being kept up as an archive, but I will no longer post on it.

I apologize for all the OOC lately, but this is actually something you should read.

Okay, I’ve given it some more thought last night and this morning, and I think I’ve decided what I’m going to do: turn this current blog into an archive, and use the url on a new blog.

So, basically, I’ll still be badbatter, just not on this particular blog. This particular account isn’t being deleted, nor are any of my other blogs. I’m keeping the blog itself around so I can have a record of some previous interactions. What I have right now feels like a disorganized, inconsistent mess, and it’s getting to me a lot more than it should.

Unfortunately, all of my other RP accounts are a sideblog to this one. To move would mean to completely move all of those blogs, which in turn would mean they’d be starting fresh, as well. None of their past interactions will be erased (unlike Batter), but they will be shifted onto the new account I’m making.

The above includes Papyrus, Wirt, Etihw, and my multimuse. Two of them haven’t even started yet, so I don’t think it’s that big of a change.

I’m restarting Batter. I’m turning this blog’s switch on OFF. His memory will be wiped save for a few interactions that some muns want me to keep. If you want to stay mutuals, refollow the new blog once I remake it. If not, feel free to cut me loose, my feelings won’t be hurt (especially if we hardly interact in the first place).

Maybe I’ll see you around, maybe I won’t. It’s been a good run for this blog. Time to make a new game.

That’s always what it boils down to: everyone thinking she needs round-the-clock supervision. No matter what she says she’s sure the Batter will continue to think that, just like Sullivan. She’s so used to being misunderstood and told how she feels that at this point she’s not angry about him jumping to conclusions. She’s just tired.

She tries to pull one of them off, and it doesn’t work. She’s too weak. Her exhaustion overpowers what tears and angry outbursts would’ve happened if the Batter were in her presence. There’s no room for her to come up with a good argument.

What an overreaction. Petty insults tend to cut him closer when they come from someone he’s grown to love. The biting words are over text message, but he can only imagine Kurotsuno’s tone as she “says” them.

He meant it as a joke for the most part, but perhaps what he said seemed more passive-aggressive than he intended it to be. The topic has been subject to Gaster’s curiosity for some time, but he’s never cared enough to bring it up ( he’s like that with a lot of things, honestly ). What exactly happened to make Batter so violent? How many steps of precaution was the other taking in order to prevent his aggression from reaching a breaking point? He does want to know, but…

He’s been distracted enough by other things, anyway. From laying out the CORE, to tidying the house, to readjusting his other flat, to fretting over social relationships– Gaster thinks that he’s doing pretty okay with everything considering the fact that everything was happening at the same time. Granted, most of these tasks were self inflicted, so he can’t really be mad at it. It’s a way to keep busy, and God knows how much he hates not being busy.

“ Ah, you are. My font is very annoying. “ Gaster picks at the word “trying”, quirking a brow as he steeples his fingers together. “ That’s a rather vague summary, though. I’m sure I’d like to read it if I ever got the chance to. “

After Batter finishes his worried spiel, the skeleton has to pause for a moment to deliberate over what to say. Are they enough to make you not want to be around me, he says. What, is Batter asking permission from him to go off and hurt people without Gaster getting mad at him? The way that the queries are presenting strike him as odd– no, awkward, and he can’t help but chuckle in spite of the heaviness of the topic. “ Oh, a lot. It’s nothing worth mentioning though. “

“ – Backtracking to your question, though… “ He needs to stop beating around the bush all the time, he reminds himself. “ There are things that can be forgiven. Patience that can be offered. But if it happens in excess, I can say that I won’t react warmly to it, I know that. “

He should’ve expected that answer. What else would Gaster say, really? He’s not the type to endorse violence or make exceptions, even for someone like him. Batter expects to be condemned for his actions, but the thought of Gaster being that judge makes his skin crawl. The encounter with Inna is still fresh in his mind, after all. Gaster saying any of those insults would do him in for sure.

Jesus, when did he become so weak? Emotions are a dirty, dirty thing that he wishes he could keep to a minimum. It’s easy to remain apathetic when there’s no real stake in anyone, but even having slight friendships with people stretches him thin. Gaster’s one of the few people he’d do practically anything for—does the skeleton realize that?

... Maybe he does.

Something about that causes him unease more than anything.

“I’ve already overstayed my welcome, I know,” he admits, wringing his hands. “Your patience can only last so long.”

He doesn’t follow up with anything right away, feeling like he’s thoroughly made a fool out of himself already. When is that ever new, though? He tends to fumble around the skeleton, grasping for whatever phrases he thinks will get on the other’s good side. Batter does what he can to appeal to the other, yet he’s realizing it’s all in vain. They know about his true nature, and they know he can’t (and won’t) suddenly drop it for the sake of his feelings.

What an animal he is! How laughable. He can’t change.

The thought overwhelms him for a moment, and after realizing that there’s an awkward silence between them, he speaks up again before Gaster can say anything in response.

“You’ve known that I’m like this,” he says. “You’ve known how I act around most people and hated me for it. I’m no different from how I was a few months ago. I’m just as aggressive.”

The realization that what Gaster said was probably meant to be taken as a joke is a slow one. He mentally berates himself over getting so worked up about something that was said sarcastically. How low can you get, Batter? How deep of a grave can you dig for yourself at this rate?

“How long are you going to keep this friendship up? You know I’m not changing any time soon, right?”

A very deep one, it seems.
