I’m really nervous about lifting again, like I really want to do it but I’m too scared to do it at any of the places near my university, because I’m from a rural area where no one gives a flying fuck and I have been caught once. But my school is in a very suburban white rich area (at least where the local mall is) and I’m terrified of the security there. And the last time I lifted someone other than a rural area I got caught immediately.

It’s been 3 days since I last lifted and I have no idea how I’m gonna go 27 days more without taking anything. There’s not even anything I need, i just feel the need to get some new pallets I’ll never use and aren’t able to sell, or new brushes I can’t have laying out because my mum will sus me.

THIS IS WHY I WAS FORCED TO QUIT. IT LITERALLY BECAME COMPULSIVE. TO SEE IF I COULD. BECAUSE I FELT LIKE IT. I started lifting out of necessity. My family has never had much money but we’ve been okay. I lifted things during rough patches. Toothbrushes. Deodorant. A new dress because my old clothes wouldn’t fit. I got excessive with it as a lot of us do. It’s not a bad thing to do neccesarily. But then I just started taking stuff I blatantly didn’t need. Way too much makeup. Way too much skincare. Way too many things that I fundamentally didn’t need. And then I couldn’t stop. My friend and I got busted at an Ulta and put in the back of a cop car because we literally couldn’t help ourselves from taking things even though they saw us conceal and cornered us about it. Friends, please, take breaks. Take into account what you have. Try not to let this become an addiction.
