Everyoneâs all âbe gay, do crime!!!â Until a gay trans man steals from a walmart
Ulta/Sephora Tips
(this was on the shoplifting subreddit, thought you guys would enjoy!)
Drug store makeup and nail polish is easiest to get from Walmart. If you want tarte, smashbox, urban decay, etc. then ulta is probably your best option. Ask a SA when they get their shipments in. It will usually be wed or thurs in the morning. go on that day, during the morning shift. They make the SAs unload shipments before they open, so usually theyâre pretty worn out and donât want to deal with people. Alternatively go on a Saturday or Friday night close to closing time, since the SAs will be antsy and ready to start their weekend.
Wear makeup. Like really overdo it. Same if youâre lifting from Sephora. If youâre wearing hella makeup they figure you know what youâre doing, and wonât bug you as much. If you notice a lot of SAs asking you if you need help, ask for something you know they donât have in stock. My go-to right now is Bunny grav3yardgirlâs tarte pallete because no one has it in stock. Another good thing to ask for that they usually donât have is NYX matte setting spray, but I think the stocking issues NYX was having are solved. Since I go to ulta a lot, I have one store I specifically lift from and another I only buy from.
Both ulta and Sephora have pretty good camera placement, but Iâve lifted from both tons of times with no problems. Either bring a friend and have them block cameras while you conceal, or conceal while walking away from a camera. With smaller items, I use the âpick two, pocket one, replace oneâ method where you grab two of what you want and conceal one. Then you put the other back, so unless someone is paying very very close attention, itâs hard to notice. Itâs also fairly common to squat down to be out of view of cameras and it wonât look suspicious. I just make it look like Iâm reading the ingredients for a moment before I stand back up. I have a huge MK purse so I just set it down with me between it and the camera and conceal while Iâm âreadingâ the ingredients. Usually kneeling or squatting is super sus but you can do it in ulta or Sephora because they have so many small products on low shelves, so itâs normal.
Also open packages on the higher quality makeup, to make sure itâs not tagged. If it is, I pull out what I want, close the box again, and stick the empty box behind all the full ones. If itâs not tagged I just take the whole box. If a SA asks why youâre opening a product, say something like âoh once I bought an eyeshadow and when I got it home the powder was cracked so now I check the ones Iâm thinking about buyingâ or like âthe wand on this lip gloss was screwed up,â âsafety seal was brokenâ etc. they wear makeup, they understand. Just be polite to the SAs. Theyâre usually pretty chill at ulta. Sephora SAs are a bit more anal.
Also bonus thing I read from a former ulta SA: if you hear like⊠A chime/ding noise through the store, it has nothing to do with you so donât get nervous. Itâs how the cashiers communicate with the other employees. So like one ding means they need another register to open and two dings means someone needs more money in the register or something like that. Also the SAs wear earpieces (some ultas only the manager does, but other ultas have more than just the manager wearing them) but I typically donât worry about that?? Unless you see them talking into the earpiece looking directly at you, they probably arenât talking about you. Also I read managers are the only ones who act as LP so theyâre the only ones who can confront you, but immm not sure thatâs true.
U/ta tips
As someone who actually fucking works at the store Iâm tired of seeing all the horrible misinformation about what to do at u/ta
1. For fucks sake please stop stealing testers especially in perfume there are hidden cameras perfume and certain stores mostly high volume stealing stores and we are told to monitor perfume the most
2. Do not go on lifting one hour before closing we know this is the most hit time of day that lifters tend to shoplift thereâs always a second manager watching the cameras at this time
3. Yes we always check cameras and I mean always if you beep we will check cameras and yes we will check the cameras outside to get your license plate number people who say this is a true are stupid and never have worked at the store
4. If you hit the same store over and over we do not build cases, however we will monitor you and most likely call the cops/mall cops
5. The reason why the white cubes of death exist is because people keep stealing 5 to 10 pallets of eyeshadow at a time stop doing this youâre making it harder for everyone
6. Speaking of the white cubes of death, the naked palette with these cubes on them or normally not checked just slide the pallets out of the boxes and leave the boxes alone I know this is normally not good but when the boxes or tag for the white cubes no one really checks them
7. If our managers see us on camera spotting a lifter and we on purposely let them get away our asses are in trouble so if youâre stupid enough to get caught by simple mistakes I donât feel sorry for you
8. Do not conceal in drugstore makeup this is the place where most people do and are caught and where we find most of our empty boxes do not conceal in high end hair care either The best place to conceal is probably hair brushes or where the hair dryers are
9. When there is a big event such as sales or holidays specials there will be even more lost prevention in the store please make sure to be more careful than normal and cameras are actively monitored donât be stupid
10. We cannot confront you only managers can we cannot touch you only police officers can we wear headsets to communicate constantly please donât avoid us the best excuse is always Iâm looking or Iâm just browsing or killing time
11. In my experience, it doesnât matter if you wear nice make up in the store or if it looks good we will always come up to you whether you were wearing make up or not just trying to dress in clothing that is not black because people are constantly come up to you and ask if you work there
self checkout method (finally)
Okay so, a lot of you have been asking how we get so many groceries in our hauls and there have been lots of requests for our method so iâm writing it up for y'all FINALLY. Iâm the only one of my group who has done this method, so I only have my own experience to draw from. If you try this out and find something else that works for you, send me some tips about it! Iâm quite interested in seeing what other people come up with.
Okay so hereâs how itâs done: You get your groceries or whatever you want at Walmart or another store that has self check-out. Donât get too many items because buying a whole cartful of stuff with self check out is SUS. My average is about 130$ worth of stuff and the. highest iâm willing to go is 200. Scan ALL of your items in self check out. Then you just swipe your card as DEBIT and type in the wrong pin number. Walk away before the machine processes the wrong pin and head for the door. Usually, employees donât notice but itâs VERY important to keep an eye on them with your peripheral vision. Wait for them to get distracted and then type in your pin and leave as fast as you can.
Notes: *Wear big noticeable headphones and fuck around on your phone/ipod to make it look like you arenât paying a lot of attention to the machine. That way if someone catches you, itâll just look like youâre an idiot who wasnât paying attention to their card getting declined.
*you want the scanner that is closest to the door. This is also the scanner closest to the SAâs desk. This is the best scanner because it allows for a quick exit and it gives you a good view of the SA. Whatâs important is that you see them, it doesnât matter if they see you until literally the last second.
*If the SA is still too close to you when you are ready to put in your wrong PIN, stall. Pretend you are texting or looking for your card in your bag. Just do whatever until they arenât looking/close anymore.
* DVDâs that are R-rated, alchohol and electronics require an employee code, get these items first so that you donât have an SA close to you when youâre ready to leave.
*This method is all or nothing. Sometimes you will get caught by SAâs but they cannot prove that your trying to lift bc you can just say like âoh i donât know why my card didnât work? I thought i had money on it!â And then you just have to leave and try again at a different store.
*if you are scared that the scanner will charge your card, you can always use an expired card or a gift card with no money on it.
*act like you donât understand the machines if an SA comes to help you.
*Obviously donât do it to the same store a lot
Good Luck and happy lifting!!
Could u please explain in detail how to do the walk out w groceries?
okay, once more for the people in the back.
1. Reusable bags are your friend. buy them. lift them. i dont care. just get your hands on them. get enough to carry everything you want. be smart.
2. know your store. if its a small HEB or Walmart, be careful, but since holidays are coming up use the crowds to your advantage.
3. take items off shelf. put in bag. congrats, ur done with the hard part.
4. when ur ready to walk out, do it. just walk out. using your legs, you take one step at a time until youâre out the door and into the parking lot. if ur nervous, pretend to be on the phone or bring someone to talk to so u can calm ur nerves. if ur store has two entrances, walk in one and out the other. if it has one, be careful of who is near the door when you enter and exit. if theyâre different greeters, great. if not, still smile and say have a good day.
then get in ur car, go home, and put food away.
done.das it.
TIPS: carry old receipts with u so you can pretend to look at them when you walk out the door. greeters dont usually stop u when u look busy or are suuuper nice. u can walk out down an empty aisle if i want to seem less sus, that way youâre walking out with everyone else who just dropped 150 bucks on food.get things you need, not things you want.
probs gonna make a masterpost, but once again, not until after finals. this shit got me fucked up stress wise, so ya.
yo u sexy mfs.
this is for the anon that had the question about grocery walkouts.
*****UPDATE******
Last night i was walking out with some goodies from my local HEB and as soon as I exited the door, the wheels locked up. Iâm guessing it has something to do with people stealing baskets or whatever, but i wasnât able to move it at. all. i freaked out bc this has never happened to me, and i just grabbed all the shit in my basket and hauled ass to my car. SO something to look out for is: some stores might start doing this as well. check your baskets BEFORE you walk into the store. IF THEY HAVE A CONTRAPTION ON THE FRONT OR REAR WHEELS (im talking like a big black rubber lookinâ thing or something that doesnât not look like it belongs) DO NOT GRAB THE BASKET AND JUST CARRY THE BAGS YOURSELF. sure youâre not gonna get all the things you need, but its definitely better to be safe than sorry. Thatâs what my roommate and I decided to do in order to still get food without it being too risky.
BE SMART AND BE SAFE OUT THERE KIDDOS

How to Master the Walk Out Method
âą I have two big reusable bags from Babies R Us that I got from people at my baby shower. Later when I went to their store, I saw that they run from around 1-3 $ depending on what size you want. (not that you canât just fold it up and put it in your purse)
Other stores that sell reusable eco-friendly bags: Toys R Us, Tj Maxx, Kohls, Jc Penney, Gordmans, Old Navy, Hyvee, Whole Foods, Kroeger, Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS.
1. Why is it different to use eco bags? I find it a lot more unsettling concealing items into my purse than my ebags. When you are putting items into an ebag Iâve noticed that other shoppers around you donât even look at you twice. Shoppers just think youâre being economically friendly. You wonât have to be nervous or have shaky sweaty palms as you desperately look for an empty isle with a handful of nail polish and foundation. Without having to find a new spot to conceal every time you just fill up your bags calmly and collectively while others still shop around paying little to no attention to you at all. This is especially good to do when you need groceries, or need a huge haul youâve been planning. If you still feel a little unsettled, then wait until you get to your blind spot to start bagging your groceries into ebags.
2. Donât forget: âą You still need to check for tags! Unless you 100 % know your store of choices policies and have scoped out the store prior to your lifting day, then only sometimes it may be okay to beep. âą Regarding the possibility of beeping, you should always try to walk out of the store next to another family/grocery shopper. âą Always pay special attention to suspicious footsteps, voices, beeps over the intercom, announcements over the intercom, and walkie talkie calls. Youâre still shoplifting! âą A new method is no excuse for becoming sloppy, lazy or greedy. Take only what youâre sure you need! âą Do your research on source tags if you know for sure something expensive youâre planning on getting away with. A friend of mine didnât know that the $ 60 crest white strips were source tagged. âą Always assume youâre being watched. Be calm, cool and collective and if you canât fill your bags without being super nervous and distraught, you probably shouldnât do it. The key is to be nonchalant and calm. Think about when you go grocery shopping with your parents. Do you pay attention to other grocery shoppers? Probably not. They arenât paying attention to you. They are making sure they get their spring rolls and potstickers. âą If you need too, look for cameras, people, SAs, and LP with your eyes only . âą Always be considerate, friendly, polite and courteous. Employees, security, SAs and will always remember a bitchy customer over a polite customer. This comes with your next topic:
3. Dressing for the Job: Notice what the average shopper is wearing and dress like them. Being professional, well dress, groomed, speaking clear understandable English, with a friendly outgoing attitude is the best illusion you could give. The object here is not to draw any attention to yourself. You want Loss Prevention to be watching the other guy. Every store and every area will be different. A âhigh endâ department store will have better dressed shoppers then a discount or home improvement store. No matter what, always wear clean cloths, bath, comb your hair, and have a clean respectable look. (Copied from an older thread)
4 a. Stores that have worked easiest for me: Hyvee, Target, Wal-mart, Kroeger. 4 b. Why they work easiest for me: This is just my personal opinion, it depends on how comfortable you are. At hyvee they do their lunch buffet and have hot food and a seating area available to eat. Kroegers has a Starbucks inside. At Target and Wal-Mart there are fast food joints in the stores, garden exits and wedding/baby registries. When Iâm getting ready to leave I will always stop and do something as a distraction ⊠Get a snack, drink, ice cream, or print off a registry or even walk around the garden area⊠Basically do whatever i want as an âexit distractionâ⊠eat/drink/ print before getting ready to walk out of the store and then looking over an old receipt. I like this the best. On days were I have more time to spare and donât have any frozen groceries or milk, sometimes I sit down in the seating areas of these snack places and check fb/tumblr on my phone and eat. Then I leave. 4 c. If you donât want to buy a snack, donât have any food shops inside, or simply want to get in and get out: pick an empty check out isle and just walk down that isle and leave.
5. Beeping: Walking out of the store you should always try to have a receipt on hand. This will make it easier to get out quicker if you flash a receipt at an SA since a lot of stores technically the SAs arenât supposed to stop you, more of a manager or LP will need too. This goes back to dressing for the job. If you have a receipt, look clean and well dressed, SAs will more than likely wave you out. You donât want to look like a shoplifter! Your last tip will be to always walk out close to a family or another shopper with many bags.
Always stay safe you little liftkittens! I hope this helps some of you. This is my favorite method to use!
so helpful
Best Days to Lift Groceries
So I figured this out, wanna lift at Walmart and possibly do the walk out method GO WHEN YOUR STATE GIVES OUT THE WELFARE OR SSI CHECKS in most states its on the 1st and 3rd of the month. Walmarts are so busy that day so if you do a walk out its 10 times easier Same thing for K-mart or any large grocery chain. I do this EVERY 1st and 3rd of the month and have for maybe the past 10 months, I havenât bought 90% of my groceries or household needs in so long BC of this and I never kept track of how much its totalled to but Iâm gonna start this month starting tomorrow! I just take reusable store bags and grab a cart, I fill the bags in the cart (since theyâre Eco bags no one thinks twice) and when Iâm done I just walk out the garden center entrance/exit with an old grocery receipt in hand they never Check you when you have Eco bags as long ass all your stuff is in the bags and they can visibly see your receipt BC its just groceries.
This is true. A family member works at Walmart and the beginning of the month is the worst and Walmart never has cashiers itâs always slammed
Hey you seem to do the self checkout method a lot and seem really good at it, any tips for a newbie?
Yes! I go to Walmart a lot and I donât like concealing in my purse or walkouts so self checkout is how I do most my lifting.
I donât do the barcode switching thing, I just straight up donât scan things.
My tips -
- Try to do it when self checkouts are super busy. The more busy they are the more people the SA has to watch so thatâs less time they have to focus on you specifically.
- Always buy at least a few things. They will notice if you go to the self checkout with a bunch of stuff and only ring up one thing. Just scan the cheap stuff and lift the more expensive stuff.
- Pretend to scan everything so it looks like you actually are ringing it up. Just act like youâre looking for a barcode and then mime scanning it with the barcode facing away so it doesnât actually scan.
- Most self checkouts check the weight of things you bag and will cause a fuss if the weight is off, i.e. if you bag something you didnât ring up. To get around this you need to scan something for real and put it in the bag, then pull the bag away and put stuff in it as youâre pulling it away. If the SA isnât looking just grab a bag and quickly stuff shit in it.
- Hold stuff in your hands as much as possible so you can easily go from hands to bag. Obviously reaching into the cart and stuffing stuff straight from the cart into a bag is a bad idea because if an SA saw you youâd get caught.
- Bag everything. A lot of stores will check your receipt on the way out if they see you with something that isnât bagged to make sure you paid for it. If they check your receipt and notice itâs missing a bunch of stuff itâs GG (this has never happened to me but if they ever do check my excuse will be something like âoh it beeped, I thought it scanned. Machine must be acting up.â)
- Be confident. Act like youâre just checking out like everyone else. Pretend youâre doing nothing wrong. Donât be looking around to see if the SA is watching all the time. If you are approached use the above excuse. SAs do notice when youâre nervous. When i first started this method Iâd look at the SA so much that I actually got approached by her and asked if I was okay because I seemed really distressed (she wasnât even sus, just concerned)
Thatâs all I can think of right now, Iâll add more if I think of anything. Hope this helps.
A tip from an ex-magician to my lifting babies âĄ
That has got to be the most ridiculous title for myself. Anyway. GOOGLE MAGIC TRICKS. LEARN SLEIGHT OF HAND THROUGH MAGIC TUTORIALS.
Guys I was OBSESSED with magic as a kid and I practiced it until I was a junior in high school. You know how easily I took to lifting? Ridiculously. Iâve fucking concealed with employees staring me in the eye during my first ever haul. They canât tell shit. And they had no idea. Thereâs tricks you can learn that are INVALUABLE. Of course donât go running up to lp and concealing in front of them right away. Iâve been playing with sleight of hand and illusions for years. Youâd be amazed how much better you can get at lifting if you learn tricks similar to it.
Penny behind the ear? Oh no. I pulled a fucking nAKED PALLETTE OUT OF YOUR DAMN ASS HOWâS THAT FOR A TRICK.
Now go learn from the pros my precious babies ilysm â€â€â€â€
To add to this: look up Apollo Robbins and the sort of stuff he does: he explains diverted attention really well, and basically how to direct othersâ gazes to particular areas while doing something else. Of course, Robbins uses it for stage effects, but if you take the basic premise and get creative with it and apply it to lifting⊠youâre all set. Practice this shit in the bathroom mirror at home and stuff, too, with items around the same size and weight as stuff youâre lifting. (If you donât have those items yet, use small packets, or lipglosses or pens or whathaveyou.)  And get very, very good at not looking at your hand while youâre doing stuff (including removing and even finding RFID tags, as well as concealing). Ideally you want your attentionâ and anyone elseâsâ focussed on what youâre doing with your other hand, which should be looking at a product/price/etc.Â
This is very good advice. Iâve also used the same philosophies as professional pickpockets (they use sleight of hand, same as magicians) and been very successful with it.
Boosting
For those of you who are just starting to boost:
Poshmark, Mercari, and PayPal all give you PRIORITY MAIL shipping labels which means you have access to FREE shipping supplies
Go to this:Â https://store.usps.com/store/browse/subcategory.jsp?categoryId=free-shipping-supplies
and you can order whatever envelopes and boxes for free, and shipping to you is normally free too!
Because shipping costs add up extremely quickly, even when youâre not paying for the label.
teach me how to boost
any tips on boosting? my son and i are living hella lean, even now that i lift all our clothes and most extra things. i need money for christmas, or else heâs just gonna get books i can lift cause i can fit toys in my purse đ iâm so tired on being heinously poor
This is whatâs worked for me so far:
- Better Than Sex Mascara (waterproof) sells really really fast, and theyâre small enough you can probably grab 5-10 in one go if youâre careful/not being watched.
- Instax film (found at staples, Walmart, Michaelâs, etc) sells pretty good imo. I sell a ten-photo pack for about ~8$-9$, and the twenty-photo packs for about ~14$-16$ apiece, and I sell them in packs, like 3-5 ten-photo packs and 2-4 twenty-photo packs.
- instax cameras (toys r us, and Best Buy if youâre really really lucky). They sell fast and at good prices, between 45$-55$ (if you get a really rare color, like somehow manage to snag one of the pastel ones from michaels, I could see it selling for like 55$-60$), but itâs best to have a structured purse for lifting those. The ones at toys r us arenât tagged (at least the few locations Iâve been to they havenât been) but def check over any from Best Buy.
- Newer high end makeup palettes sell pretty well too. And Iâm sure limited edition makeup will sell very well a few months after they go off the shelf.
- copics (Michaelâs or hobby lobby possibly) sell very good, only sometimes - I think for these try to sell them towards the beginning of school semesters and around Christmas time. But you can sell them for high prices, I sell mine for about ~5$-6$ a market, so like 20 markers is at least 100$ in profit.
Some other things to boost Iâve heard of but havenât tried yet:
- high end wallets and purses (fossil/Kate spade/Michael kors etc)
- higher end art supplies (Iâm guessing this means like oil/acrylic paints and good quality brushes and selling them in sets - again thisâd probably be good more towards the start of semesters/around Christmas)
- PokĂ©mon cards ? Like I guess thereâs some rare cards out there so if you lift a whole bunch of packs and find the rare ones you could sell them ? Not sure on the specifics đ
- north face jackets
- Calvin Klein clothing (this and north face can be found at TJ Maxx, they usually have hook tags or gator tags.. unfortunately all the ones around me have gator tags, and their dressing rooms are watched over pretty well)
- maybe lipstick queen ? Theyâre small, rarely tagged, so you could grab a whole bunch at once and sell them either piece by piece or in small lots. Iâve wanted to try this but havenât yet.
- also, this is just an idea but like maybe manga sets ?? If you work and manage to get all the volumes of a popular newer manga series you could prolly sell it for a pretty good amount. Manga books usually sells for about 7$-10$, so if itâs a series of ten books, and you sell them for 5$ apiece youâd make around 50$âŠ. might not be anything, but this is just another thought Iâve had but havenât tried yet.
For boosting, use mercari, Poshmark, depop, or eBay.
The one I use the most is mercari, itâs just the easiest for me to understand, plus it doesnât go through PayPal (which I donât like PayPal so it works for me đ)
My car broke down so I had to buy a used car, my money situation is in the pit ATM, so I can totally understand - especially with Christmas so close⊠my kid is of course expecting toys and Iâm like ?? Okay đ Iâll try my best lol. But Michaelâs has like animal figurines (theyâve got dragons, dinosaurs, and like wolves and other animals), if your kid likes those! Some of them are pretty big (e.g. Can fit in a large purse). Toys r us has lots of untagged toys, but a lot of them are in packaging đ goodwill sometimes has good toy finds, and Iâm pretty sure theyâd be pretty easy.
Hopefully this is a lil helpful đŹ good luck boosting and getting Christmas presents!!
Iâm new to boosting and this post is godliness đđđ
Lots of Sephora and Ulta eye creams and beauty products that start at like $100 boost very easily and are rather small. Shoes from Nike and Adidas sell rather well especially limited edition ones, headphones are very expensive and you can do walkouts from Apple Store and Target. Also baby stuff is pretty expensive
boosting tips
figured iâd make a post about things iâve personally learned boosting since iâve only ever seen one other real post about it but itâs fucking awesome.keep in mind, i only started boosting the day after christmas, so itâs only been about two weeks now, and i only use P0shmark and Merccari but iâve already made over $700 :-) if u dont wanna read the whole thing you can skim by just checking out the stuff in italics
things that sell fast and are easy to lift: -Better Than Sex mascaras (waterproof or normal) I sell these for about $13 on p0shmark and they normally go within a day or two -Tarte shape tape (if you want to keep the fact that these are stolen items, iâd only ever lift the same shade or similar shades. itâs kinda shady if one days youâre selling a fair neutral and a week later youâre selling a dark saying âit was a christmas gift and doesnât match meâ like bitch we all know nobody thought for a sec that that was your color lmaooo) -ANYTHING FENTY BEAUTY holy shit. small easy things in this line include the highlight palettes and the match stix trios -NARS blushes (specifically Orgasm and Deep Throat bc theyâre popular on the internet) (i sell these in bundles of two and they go within the first 2 days) -NARS Laguna bronzer -BECCA highlighters -Too Faced sweet peach lip glosses -Kat Von D tattoo liner -Anastasia brow wiz
-small jewelry from american eagle, anthropolgie, francescas, hot topic things that sell fast and arenât so easy to lift: -any of the fucking urban decay naked palettes -any of the fucking too faced sweet peach/chocolate palettes -subculture and modern renaissance holy shit these normally are out of my hands within minutes of being posted -high end perfumes (i donât even fuck with this shit) -FENTY palette -literally like any palette that you hear beauty gurus on youtube mention ever -anything limited edition -shirts and sweats from PINK or VS (but mostly PINK) (but you pretty much have to make sure that logo is somewhere apparent on the garment bc thatâs all people care about for real)Â pretty much anything from the following brands will sell within a week at a decent price: -too faced, urban decay, tarte, anastasia, MAC, NARS, Lancome, Kat Von D, Benefit, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, PINK and VS, brandy melville, free people, Calvin Klein things you think might sell fast but actually wonât -bras from PINK or VS (bc there are so many fucking sizes) -foundations & concealers (bc there are so many fucking shades)
-skin care products (bc no one really gives a shit)
-stuff from Lush (people are hella sus of buying Lush products from places other than lush idky) (but if youâre gonna youâre gonna want to make sure to post a pic of the expiration date and if itâs outdated the price has to decrease by like 70% sorry babes) -anything high-end that isnât spoken a lot about by beauty gurus on youtube (example: laura geller. her shit is awesome but nobody on p0sh cares about it bc she doesnât give her shit away to youtubers for free reviews) other random tips -if youâre not selling a whole lot or you want to sell items quicker for whatever reason, do research on what are the hottest products in the hottest brands at any given time. limited edition shit will always sell well after itâs removed from the shelves, but people will still buy stuff from you even if itâs still selling in stores. example: look up âbest drugstore lipsticksâ and lift 5 of them and sell all 5 as a bundle for $15-$20. example: watch popular beauty gurus on youtube and their 2017 favorites videos. products that are repeated multiple times by multiple different people should go into a lift list for you. items like this, at the moment, include: tarte shape tape, tart gifted mascara, urban decay perversion mascara, laura merceir powder (you can get the tiny ones at sephora a lot of the time), mario badescu facial spray, MAC lipstick in velvet teddy and honey love, urban decay all nighter setting spray, NARS laguna bronzer, anastasia brow wiz, any of the mascaras by benefit, naked heat palette, sweet peach palette -take pics of the highlighters youâre trying to sell in good ass lighting where those bitches TWINKLE. this sounds like a dumb tip but good lighting (for everything really) is really important iâve found -keep in mind the shipping price on whatever youâre selling. on p0sh itâs a flat rate of like $7 for the buyer, so you canât sell something at full price or even $7 beneath full price because that will make no sense to the buyer. As a rule of thumb, if itâs a lifted good iâm selling, i sell it for about 45% off. if 45% off still doesnât cover shipping costs then you have to knock it down a few more bucks. So basically anything that sells at retail price for $14 or less youâll have to cut it down more than 45% in order for the buyer to consider it a good sale. Often times people on p0sh will ask if you will sell the same thing to them on Merrrcari and some ppl think this is sus but honestly people just want the better shipping options Merrcari offers -BUNDLE ITEMS. for exmaple: instead of just selling ONE pantie for $5 to 6 people and then having to package 6 boxes with one pantie each, just sell 5 panties as a bundle for $15-$20 to one person. this is still a good sale for the buyer, you make more money quicker, and you have less work to do -if you want to be cautious of anyone finding out that the items youâre selling are stolen, make every clothing piece the same size (or at least around the same size) with maybe the occasional âthis was a christmas gift and itâs too large/small for me yadda yadda yaddaâ. Also, you DONâT have to and really SHOULDNâT provide âreasonsâ as to why youâre selling everything youâre selling. non-suspicious people donât even consider explaining why theyâre selling the item, and if you prelude every sale with a âthis was too big/smallâ, ânot my colorâ, â my fashion style has changedâ etc, itâll look more like you have something to hide than if you didnât say anything at all. Also, i know youâll probably be apprehensive of including any real pictures of yourself for your info page, but the more innocent and non suspicious and typical you look to the public the more typical you will seem. you could also prob find pics online and use those and use like a fake college -include pics of the serial numbers of EVERY makeup product you purchase and boost, assuming you really did steal it and its authentic. this eliminates any suspicions that youâre selling fake goods, which is a common suspicion people have when one is selling a lot of high-end product for relatively cheap, with new things constantly showing up in their closet -take good fucking pictures. just fucking do it. it helps so much. it makes you look professional and gives people reason to trust you and your âbusinessâ. also be fucking nice
-pretty stuff will always sell faster than ugly stuff. this is why palettes and highlighters go quicker than, say, skin care. skin care items are often items that have to be sought out, where as the sweet peach pallete is something someone may not have known they even wanted until they saw it posted. you know? doesnât matter how high end that skin care is bby people on apps like p0sh and merc are only window shopping for shit they dontâ have to worry about not working out. appeal to the single moms drunk on wine scrolling through their phones at 11pm
-package your shit nicely and be a kiss ass with a lil note or free gift or some shit. people eat that up Iâm telling yaand vwalla, start rolling in dat dough bby
THIS IS GOLD DONT SLEEP ON IT đđ

Getting Caught Masterpost (not too sure if this is older)
Some Tips and Random Stores Masterpost
Boosting 101
What is boosting?
-Selling items stolen from retail stores. Be aware this is a felony level crime and could land you in prison. If youâre uncomfortable with that, you might want to consider another way of making money. However, it is extremely hard to prove that items are stolen and as long as you keep your business professional and legitimate looking, no one will ask questions and you will be fine. Â
What do you sell?
-High-end makeup is 95% of my personal boosting (Urban Decay, Too Faced, Lorac palettes; blush, bronzer, highlight, and contour palettes; basically anything popular that you would see on Instagram or Youtube. I stay away from skin color face products as this is varying and tends to take longer to sell. Also things like foundation go bad more quickly and people are more icked out by buying these things from an unofficial seller.)
Keep an eye out for new releases. Follow brands on Instagram or watch makeup videos on Youtube. Do your research and know your market. When brands release new palettes, jump on the bandwagon and snatch a bunch of them up. They will sell like hot cakes for about a month or so after the initial release.
Limited edition products. These are best to collect and wait a few months to a year to list. These items go up in price as supply disappears and collectors will be looking for these items after theyâve left the market
-Designer anything, but specifically wallets. Wallets are easy to lift in my experience because they are small. If you choose to go this route, you will probably want to get a golf detacher. A lot of the wallets Iâve lifted have pencil tags on them and they can be easily taken off with a magnet. Some very expensive wallets and bags (Michael Kors) have screamer tags (the ones with a blinking red light and a speaker). These tags emit one beep when they are detached, but it doesnât seem too loud and could possibly be muffled. This will require an Alpha S3 key. Be aware I have not detached any of these, so I donât know from personal experience how loud it is, but Iâve seen videos and it seems possible.
-Electronics. If you choose this route, I would recommend an S3 key as most electronics are either in those clear boxes or spider wrapped. Spider wraps do not make noise when taken off. However, DO NOT cut the wire on a spider wrap as it will emit an extremely loud noise that canât be turned off. I used to work at Target and we literally had to throw them in the trash compacter and completely destroy them to get them to stop. Hard drives and flash drives have been the best sellers in my experience. Video games and DVDs donât have a good resale value, plus they are internally tagged so you would have to open them to detag and it just isnât worth it.
Where do you get this stuff?
-Ulta is the easiest place to get high-end makeup. Sephora is also possible, but this is a little tricker as the SAs there seem to be trained better, care more, and security seems to be better. Kohlâs also sells The Balm and Lorac if you have one of those in your area.Â
-Kohlâs is where I get Juicy Couture purses and wallets. These boost okay. Typically you have to discount them by about 50% to get them to sell cause itâs not a super high-end brand, but eventually someone will buy them.Â
-Macyâs is where I get Michael Kors wallets. Iâve also heard of a lot of people lifting Kate Spade at Nordstrom, but Iâve never personally done this.Â
-Walmart for electronics. The SAs there donât care because itâs such a crappy job. Just be aware Walmart has good LP so you have to make sure you have a good blind spot and you donât act sketchy.
Where do you sell?
-Poshmark is where I got my start. Itâs limited to the US, so this might not work for some people, but itâs a nice start because the app does a lot of the work for you. You donât have to worry about weighing stuff for shipping this way because itâs flat rate. This is best for purses and wallets because Iâm not sure they sell as well on eBay. I also sell a lot of my used stuff on there, which adds to my pool of money. If you have stuff you want to get rid of to make room for lifted stuff, look into Poshmark. However, they take 20% commission and the people on Posh can be kind of rude and entitled and offer you like $5 for a brand new Naked palette and it can get a bit frustrating at times.Â
-Mercari is an app almost identical to Poshmark. It isnât as well known so stuff might not sell as quickly, but they are in beta testing right now and are not taking commission currently, so you get every dollar that you make. Again, the people can be kind of rude though because theyâre the same ones that are on Poshmark.
-Amazon is another option, but I personally havenât used it. My lift partner used to sell video game codes on here and said it was relatively easy and he made a few hundred dollars but ended up getting his account suspended because youâre not allowed to sell just the codes.Â
-Ebay is where I do the majority of my boosting these days. They take !0% commission I believe and thereâs an additional couple percent commission that Paypal takes when you make a sale, but itâs still less than any other selling marketplace Iâve found. Ebay already has a very large makeup selling community so you will get more hits on here than on any other site. People also tend to be a little more civil here because itâs more of a professional atmosphere whereas Poshmark feels kind of like a social media site.
How do you sell the stuff?
-Poshmark/Mercari is pretty easy. I tend to price my stuff at about 20%-30% off retail. It doesnât tend to sell for what I list it because people on Poshmark are always trying to get a deal, so you might have to do some negotiating with people. Iâve sold about 10-12 Naked palettes on Posh for $42 or $43 and people donât tend to want to pay more than that so be prepared to end up only making about half of retail after commission and everything. Still worth it in my opinion cause itâs pure profit, but keep it in mind. Poshmark is nice because it takes care of shipping for you. You just print the label they email you and package the item.
-Ebay is far easier in my opinion. People are more likely to just buy stuff and not negotiate, especially if you have a good deal already. Depending on the popularity of the item, I sell for an average of a $5 discount. Some items are more in demand though. For example, I consistently sell Anastasia Brow Wiz pencils for $19.99 plus free shipping. People think theyâre getting a great deal saving $1 and some people buy multiple ones from me. When you add in about $2 for shipping and the Ebay and Paypal commission, I make around $15 per pencil which isnât a lot but theyâre so small and I can easily get 10-12 pencils in one Ulta trip so itâs a good way to make some quick money. Do a little research to see how people are pricing the item and then undersell them by $2-3. If itâs been a week or so and you have hardly any views and no watchers, lower the price by $1-2 until people become interested. Similarly, if things are selling well at a certain price, raise it by $1-2 to make the most of your profit.
I usually offer free shipping because the stuff I sell is less than 10 oz and shipping is only about $2-3 per item. You can prepay and print your labels at home through eBay as well which makes it much easier. Then you just have to drop your items off at the post office. For heavier stuff, you might want to charge like $3 for shipping to offset the cost a bit. For the US, if your item is under 13 oz, first class mail is the way to go because itâs cheap and you get free tracking. For expensive items, use priority mail because itâs safer. I donât know what the mailing services are like in other countries though.
What do you do with the money?
-Boosting is basically like selling drugs. Transfer the money to your bank account and take out cash as soon as you can. If you live at home, perhaps get a locking cash box to keep under your bed to hide. If youâre old enough and/or able to, I would also recommend getting a bank account not connected to your parents in any way. I have 2 bank accounts and 1 is exclusively for boosting. Only connect this bank account to your Paypal and Poshmark for deposits. Itâs basically just a way to funnel your money.Â
-Then spend it as you please!
You wonât see money immediately. It takes a bit of time to get used to the different selling platforms and to build up your profile. On eBay, I would recommend using stock photos to seem like more of a professional business. On Poshmark though, people want to see actual pictures of the product. Always be polite to people if they have questions about products. Some people will ask you to prove if the item is authentic so just send them a picture of the serial number on the product or some other identifier that can assure them you have the real item. Sometimes people will try to bargain. Go with it! Remember, boosting is pure profit, so if you have someone whoâs only interested if you take $5 off, ask them if you can meet in the middle and make it $3. Sometimes thatâs enough to make the sale. Offer free shipping if possible because this entices people and makes them think theyâre getting an even better deal.
I first started listing a few palettes in July and have been boosting pretty hard since about September. I can pretty much rely on it right now as I steal most of the things I need for daily life like groceries and stuff. This is obviously not a replacement for a job or career, but itâs good especially if youâre struggling or trying to get through college. Itâs a lot easier and less stressful than having a shitty retail job in my opinion and I make more doing this than I would working full time minimum wage. Itâs also a good supplemental income if you do have a job.
As always, be smart about it. Donât get greedy. Donât think you can walk out with a stack of 25 Naked palettes under your arm and call it a day. It does take work. Iâve probably put in a few hundred hours between the actual stealing, listing and photographing items, negotiating prices and answering questions, and packing and shipping items. But Iâve made about $6,000 before all the commission and stuff so I believe itâs well worth the work.
If you have questions about anything I didnât cover or want clarification, send me a message. Hell, message me even if you just want to chat. I love talking to you guys so much!

self checkout method (finally)
Still be careful. Some places will swear up and down you were stealing and not care
