HOTD S3 SPOILER
there is no universe lyanna stark would have accepted the murders of her father and brother as part of some higher purpose to a prophecy that kills her. she would have wanted to tear rhaegar apart with her own hands and teeth. she was fifteen and pregnant and terrified and alone. i do not believe for one single second that she shrugged off the near destruction of her house and her own death in the desert for the sake of a prophecy she wouldn’t have even cared about.
This fucking prophecy ruins everything it touches upon.
What makes me go crazy is how GRRM uses multiple characters in the ASoIaF series as a warning against adopting a prophetic identity, whether that be labeling yourself or others as a prophetic savior. Sadly, there is still a large portion of book readers who aren't seeing the warning signs and fall into the trap that was designed for George's fictional characters to fall into. It's like Dune fans loudly proclaiming that they would follow Paul Atreides. ASoIaF fans (this includes the showrunners and their adaptions) are ok with the innocent suffering so long as their fave gets their heroic narrative, and they'll twist the narrative however they can to achieve it.
Rhaegar is so obviously a major red flag but because he was a decent enough man and not outwardly cruel, that must make his intentions completely pure, good, and noble. And therefore, Lyanna and Elia had to have been willing participants because good guy Rhaegar would never manipulate or use them for his own personal gain. Right, guys??
Posing Elia, the woman who was sexually assaulted, had to watch her babies being murdered in the most horrific way before being brutally killed herself, and Lyanna, the teenager girl who was locked up in a tower, pregnant, while her father and brother perished painfully, as active players in their own suffering to save face for the man truly responsible for all of that?!!! Everyday I'm convinced ASOIAF's adaptations cannot get worse and everyday they prove me wrong.

“scientists don’t want you know” is a phrase that always cracks me up because if you actually meet a scientist they will be shaking and crying like an overstimulated chihuahua with the need to let you know

NASA Artemis Ⅱ l John Kraus l April 2026
this genuinely made me cry real tears x
"You have no chance." "She had no chance."
The crew crying as they become the furthest people from earth, the naming of the Integrity crater and that bright spot Carroll after Reid's wife...
I love humanity, I love how we go to the moon and we name that bright spot after someone loved. We name that crater after the little craft that carried them so far.
Something about us being so small, barely making a dent in the universe, but still going with love.
