Bab Al Bahrain
Bab Al Bahrain is one of the most popular mosques in Bahrain. The name Bab Al Bahrain implies  Gateway of Bahrain. Constructed during the 1940s by the British, Bab Al  Bahrain has undergone widespread renovation during the recent past. It is located at Customs Square in the former Central Business District (CBD) of  Bahrain, and located at 10 minutes walking distance from Bab Al Bahrain is the sea.
The structure was originally designed by Sir Charles Belgrave during 1945 when it used to house the government offices. On reclamation of the sea, there came a new highway, which leads to Saudi Arabia and the Government Avenue, running alongside Bab Al  Bahrain. Bahrain Financial Harbour is also constructed on the further reclaimed land.
The Government Avenue in front of Bab Al Bahrain houses several major banks and business establishments. Earlier, the majority of the offices of Bahrain government were housed at Bab Al Bahrain. The Gold City is a shopping complex (for gold ornaments) located on Government Avenue.
Bab Al Bahrain got a facelift in 1986 and flaunts unique Islamic structural traits. The ground floor now includes a tourist information office and a handicrafts shop. The monument also includes a huge arch, along which runs a road which is often referred to as entrance to Manama Souq.
Bab Al Bahrain is one of the major tourist attractions in Bahrain and is an indispensable part of sight-seeing in Bahrain.
