I stopped watching Glee a long time ago. Its bittersweet between me and the show but almost everything said about it is true, good and bad.
This screen grab of TVLines new article about shows that should’ve ended earlier then they did, is once again completely on point about Glee.
Season 5 was spent trying to figure out how to go on without its Quarterback and season 6 was spent doing everything in its power to erase that Quarterback from 5 years worth of story (but I’m not bitter).
Season 5 IS the series finale. We didn’t need to see Rachel win her Tony, we knew that was going to happen in the Pilot. We didn’t need to see Rachel live her ‘happily ever after’ because that was going to happen no matter who she ended up with (still not bitter).
The fourth wall that Lea Michele breaks in the above shot(and lets be clear that is Lea Michele not Rachel Berry the moment she locks eyes with the camera), with a smile to the viewers and a look to the sky, a signal to the deceased Cory Monteith, is where Glee should’ve ended.
She was ready, and so were we…
