I'm not sure exactly what this is trying to say but I definitely feel like this is me as soon as I got to college? I don't know I just feel like there is an overwhelming amount of things pertaining to all these issues being pumped in my brain and sometimes I feel like my brain is going to explode.

Jon teaches Bill about white privilege.
Do You Know Someone Who Needs Racism Insurance?
Regardless of how Dear White People does in theaters the movie’s YouTube channel should just keep on making videos, sort of like a racism-skewering Funny Or Die.
The film’s viral ad campaign released another video gem this week titled “Racism Insurance: Coverage for White Privilege,” for those times when you’re unintentionally racist in front of your black friends.
The video is in the style of those State Farm commercials, but “oops I was racist, black guy come here” is such a catchier jingle.
Lol.. If only…
This is from Dear White People's official youtube and oh man it was super funny
HOW IS THAT RACIST?!?!!!

Ouch more awfully offensive halloween costumes
Wow
I just thought this one was really straight to the point and... yeah very impactful
I think this relates to the floor meetings we've had about making sure we are aware of racial appropriation during Halloween with our costumes. Katy Perry is showing us exactly what not to do.

This is the generation that spawned most of our parents… People our parents’ age run Washington. Starting to make sense? When you look to the past, the struggles of the present become a great deal more clear.
Hey Everyone, just an FYI…. This is not over. This is not exclusive to “our parents generation”
Oh hey look, a Hardee’s ad
I'm reblogging this because it relates to conversations we have had in both our RAP class and our RAP seminar about gender. It also shows that we are dealing with the influences of the past generations in trying to navigate the future of our world and that results in blatant sexism and gender stereotypes.
Agatha Tan - a 10th grade student in Singapore - posted an open letter on her concerns that her class's guidebook promoted rape culture, excluded LGBTQI students and enforced gender stereotypes.
This girl called out her school after they assigned a guidebook for sex ed that was sexist and enforced gender stereotypes and promoted rape culture while ignoring LGBTQI students and important aspects of sex ed. Reading through the different pictures of the texts was disturbing for me in that I realized these awful stereotypes and messages were being promoted to people throughout the world, especially developing young people with impressionable minds that are supposed to rely on textbooks and teachers to help them decipher the world. The fact that this is a published and utilized text in classrooms is disgusting to me.
God has spoken!
SO GODDAM REAL
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
