Holmes in the novel IS pretty good. Often deduce someone whole life story but nothing she wearing really stand out. The power of deduction is not the power of mind reading. There some stuff Holmes wouldn't know unless he read the paper or keep up to date on everything.

Here Holmes thinking it was a secret pact only the two of them would know. Holmes suppose him getting cut down on the street in his first death in this city would clue in some of the servants something was up.

"Why Castor....it's the only logical route for the greater good. While nobody can truly dies in this city proven with my own demise. Our master unlike us don't have a copy of herself saved up in the throne of heroes. They are a person who feel anger, sorrow, joy and can grow from those experience or it breaks them. With the amount of stress they already facing. They will sooner or later have a mental break down if nothing drastic done and i be damned if killing a unknown factor like that be the last straw.. We are dead and incapable of change. Every time we're summoned it's not guarantee that version of us retain our memories or trauma of the past.
