Surrender... How unusual a concept.
I love this song and video, and the advice is great, also.
"How do you cure writer’s block? And fear of approaching women? And an inability to ask for a raise? Ask the thousands of Hollywood “patients” who’ve successfully used the technique. And it’s not Scientology."
A good distillation of the ritual and the similarities and differences between Crowley's version and what is known of the original.
"In supplement form, DMAE boosts acetylcholine in the brain and then spreads the chemical throughout the body. Instead of having only a targeted effect like topical creams, DMAE supplements have a total body approach to tightening and toning skin."
"Within a few hours of taking a choline pill, I notice an improvement in mental focus that lasts most of the day. I have not experienced side effects with dosages smaller than 500 mg. On a dosage of 750 mg, I experience increased body warmth and slight nausea."
I come to terms with good & evil, or on being a Good Sith Lord, or Why Odysseus Rocks
I have always been fascinated by Newton's Laws of Motion because they deal with forces (not The Force). I especially enjoy his 2nd Law:
Second law: A body of mass m subject to a net force F undergoes an acceleration a that has the same direction as the force and a magnitude that is directly proportional to the force and inversely proportional to the mass, i.e., F = ma. Alternatively, the total force applied on a body is equal to the time derivative of linear momentum of the body.
In magick they say that a balance must be maintained because the universe maintains The Balance as well. You can look at this as someone saying that, "The Big U will put you on your ass if you try to muck with it too much." Balance maintained.
In the Iliad, we are shown that war is horrible and an evil that cannot be avoided. Change must come and will usually come violently.
Odysseus tried to get out of the Trojan War by feigning madness. He tried to till a field with an ox and a donkey tied to either side of the plow until Palimedes was more tricksier than the man of twists and turns himself; he placed Odysseus's infant son Telamachus in the way of the plow. Odysseus steered the plow around his son and was found to not be mad and was forced by duty to join the campaign against Troy.
What I'm getting at here is that Odysseus was a good Sith Lord. He is loyal and dutiful, but he is also ruthless in his efforts to further his cause (at least most of the time) of either keeping, or getting back to his home.
Don't we all want to get home? And I'm not talking about home where your bed is, but HOME.
HOME is where you are at peace, where love abides with you and the world is not a mess. I want to get home, and if mercilessly sacking Troy through trickery and deceit brings my time away from HOME a little closer, then I'm going to start drawing up plans for a really big wooden horse.
Now, as far as balance is concerned with gaining your aim, you can bend the universe and your consciousness to your will, but if you bend so much that you break the Universe's rules, as well as your own, Poseidon (or someone else) will make the rest of your journey home very, very eventful and disheartening.
Balance.
How do we keep it while stirring the pot to get the tasty parts to come to the top without spilling the whole delicious soup?
Taking the choline already, but not making it past the blood-brain barrier. Ah-ha! That's my problem.
Something to remember...
“It is better to have a permanent income than to be fascinating.” -Oscar Wilde
"The way to watch (or re-watch) horror films is to ignore the horror element in them and focus on the considerably more realistic but much more subtle conflicts between characters that ultimately birth the monster. Watched in this way, The Exorcist is really about a girl who is..."
