JULY 2018 UPDATE: BRIANSTORMS
Hey everyone, I’ve been planning on doing a monthly update on this page to let everyone know just what the heck I’m working on since Free Comic Book Day, but there’s been a few road bumps along the way. So now I’m actually getting around to it! Here it is, the inaugural edition to allow you to GET TO KNOW ME:
THE HIGHLY-INFORMATIVE ANCHORMAN was a story I did about an Underwater Superhero for Issue 6 of Vagabond Comics (available here digitally: https://gumroad.com/vagabondcomics and as a hard copy here: http://vagabondcomics.storenvy.com/…/20486999-vagabond-comi…) He’s someone I’ve had kicking around in my head for a while that is NOT based on any pre-existing characters at all 👀and now I want to do a full-on, actual-for-real comic book starring him which is my next big project I’m tackling. More on that and process photos as it develops.
BALLAD OF ONION FROG is more than just my banner image. It is a comedy fantasy comic project that started as a throwaway thing my son said when he was very little that then festered in my brain for years trying to explain and justify what on earth an Onion Frog could possibly be. It was going to be just a goofoff throwaway thing I did to sharpen my skills but I then realized it could be something much bigger, but it’s going to take a while to get everything where I want it to be. There is an ashcan test comic I did for FCBD that I’ll have at shows and will probably throw up on Gumroad soon enough called BALLAD OF ONION FROG: GREATEST SWORDSMAN. I am also working on another one named BALLAD OF ONION FROG: HAUNTED FOREST that I’m planning on doing something special with at Halloween.
I’m always working on ideas for children’s books to join THE DINOSAUR WHO ATE COMETS and A FEW FACTS ABOUT POTATO BUGS and have two that I’m not ready to fully announce yet, but one combines dogs and bowling and the other involves cookie demons, of which I’m hoping to have a truncated version of in the next issue of VAGABOND COMICS.
