Ian looked at Balthazar and blinked in surprise, “I- I didnt know…” He went back tot he reading last night about Veela’s mating for life and his mouth dropped open as he looked into his lovers dark eyes. “B-but what about after school I can’t have you waiting around for me… your parents wont go for that.” He tried to explain.

“They will. My mother understands what it’s like to need a mate. She waited for my father when he was fighting in the war. They aren’t normal muggle or even wizard parents.”

The feeling was like a spell sliding around Ian and engulfing him. He would have sworn that Grymm had spelled him but this wasn’t a bad thing but a good, “Y-you love me?” Ian gave a smile then lowered his head with a wide grin. “For a man of few words you sure make’m count.”

Balthazar blinked behind his glasses, stopping dead in his tracks. “You think I’m fucking joking… I just told you I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you and you think I’m joking?”

Ian’s smiled disappeared, “You’re serious?” His voice holding shock as well as his eyes. He spluttered for a few moments, “Balthazar you cant be serious. I mean really, you’re 17 and will be graduating in June. Why would you want to wait a whole year more for me… I mean honestly.” ‘Why would someone as wonderful as you want to wait for me. I am nothing of importance and you are.’ Was what Ian was really saying, why would Grymm want to wait, want to be with him. His parents were dead, he was penniless. Aside from an aging and very much abusive grandfather all Ian had were is books and his brain. He’d changed hands more than a second hand robe. No one wanted the freaking white haired Ravenclaw, he half expected his new boyfriend to only be with him because of a lost bet or until someone better came along. Why would anyone want to be with him?

Ian grinned, “So is this a formal request? Or have you spoken with your family about it?” He thought it was a joke, Grymm would stick a round… maybe for a few months then find a nice career or something and he’d be gone. The white haired man appreciated Balthazar gentle let down but knew it would be just a matter of time.

Ian stopped then and blinked at Grymm, “You’re serious?” He blinked again, “Balthazar, what about starting your career? I mean ok your family’s loaded but isn’t there something you wanna do? I dont want you to feel like you’re tied down or something.”

“Of course there are things I want to do... but I can put them off for a year, I want to do them with you. I want to be tied down, I want you... as long as you’ll have me.” He replied, pressing a kiss to the boy’s temple. “And maybe one day... maybe you’ll be my mate.”

“Well it’s a good thing I am a monogamous.” Ian grinned then looked at Grymm, “Do you have any idea what you will do once school is done for you.” Might as well talk about the hard stuff now because it would be an issue if the continued to day, and Ian hoped they would. “You leave in the Spring an’ I’ll be back for another year…” He trailed off.

Ian looked at Grymm before turning his face and lowering the other’s glasses and smiled. He slid them back up and nodded, “I never noticed, I always thought they were like cats eyes.” Ian grinned then slid his hand into his boyfriends and they walked to Honeydukes.

The small shop was full of people. Ian huffed, but was more than determined to get a few bits of candy. About to walk in when two third years were arguing in the back of the shop Ian shook his head, “We’ll come back before going back to school.” The white haired teen made a face and led the way away from the shop. They walked past the Three Broom Sticks as well with the same problem, adults coming out grumbling about the kids and Ian wasn’t in the mood. Slowing his determined walk as they moved closer to les homes and more to the Shrieking Shack Ian looked at Balthazar. “I read up on Veela’s last night.” He started, “Your people are fascinating but the male and female do… different things. You charm people by your good looks but the females seem to get…jealous easily.” Ian spoke only for his voice to carry to Grymm.

Grymm’s nose wrinkled at the two arguing children, and he was already backing away when Ian pulled him toward the Broomsticks. It was just as bad there and he growled a low “Damnit” before allowing himself to be led away once more. “Oh yeah? I’m not going to lie and say I’m not the jealous type. If another guy were to look your way I’d have a fit.”

Grymm chuckled at that, shaking his head and digging into his jacket pocket for sunglasses to protect his pale eyes from the snowy glare. “No baby. I’m possibly the most terrifying student at Hogwarts, no one’s said a word to me, and they won’t be badgering you about it either.” Sliding the glasses on, he wrapped an arm around his companion’s soulders. “We can do whatever you want today.”

“Well good to know.” Ian smiled as they set off, “I wouldn’t call you scary but seeing as your Head Boy and all that comes with it’s own respect.” He told Grymm then winked. “Come on, Honeydukes, you can by me sweets ta help rot my teeth.” The white haired teen chuckled, “Hey… eyes sensitive to light?” Ian asked as he looked up slightly.

“Mmmn, Honeydukes it is then.” He murmured, pressing a kiss to the shorter boy’s lips. “Hmn? Oh, yeah. There’s almost no pigmentation in my eyes to protect the nerves from the sun. I’m blind in direct sunlight, everything just looks white.”

The man’s right arm was covered in classic black outlines. They had all been done at different times, but obviously flowed in to one continuous sleeve from the back of his and to his shoulder the other arm was a work in progress, the intricate curl of animals, filigree only reached his elbow.

He looked at the others tattoos with intrest, loving how he seemed to have all these plans for them all “I think they breath in the way that suits you bet” he smiled up at the other then looked back at the strangers arm and ran a fingertip over them “I really like how it shows a story. You have really put thought into all this”

Just the Three Broomsticks or are we going to expand our sweet tooth too at Honey Dukes?” The white haired teen was trying not to act like a too excited child but this had been his first date…in a while. They passed a few students from school and got looks but then turned and whispered Ian just rolled his eyes but took Grymm’s hand a bit tighter. “You haven’t come across… anyone being nasty to you right?” Head Boy or not Ian wasn’t going to take his boyfriend being bullied even subtlety.

∞      “I take you to their meeting place and you have a midnight snack.” Grim shrugged taking the cigarette from his lips and handing it over to the vampire. “Don’t feel bad about it, they kept three little girls in the basement and took turns raping them. They’re the monsters.”

Someone screamed and there was a sickening splat.

Imogen screamed as she watched the car hit the little boy. She watched as people began to crowd and someone dialed the police. She looked back at the man again.

∞     Looking up from his lighter, he pushed off from the wall and took several long strides across the lawn to the street, all the while pulling off the black glove that encased his right hand. The dark haired man easily wove through the cluster and crouched by the boy’s side, unseen by those around him. “It’s okay... you’ll be okay.”
