Dundalk truly puts the strip in median strips. Thanks to Tori Young for uploading this classic âonly in Dundalkâ moment to Facebook on May 16, 2015!
Unidentified bikini-clad woman dances on Dundalk median strip
The erratically twerking woman even pulled her bikini bottom down to expose her buttcrack â perhaps an homage to the Coppertone Girl?
The Coppertone Girl
Dundalkâs Coppertone Girl appears to have a regular gig twerking at this intersection, returning later to dance in the rain, as captured in yet another motoristâs cell phone video:

âAny of yall see this bitch on Dundalk Ave earlier? only in dundalk #DontDoDrugsKidsâ â D.J. Stackz Herndon, Facebook
Sightseers interested in checking out Dundalkâs answer to Cirque du Soleil should head down to the intersection of Holabird and Dundalk Avenue. The median strip there even affords the terpischorean tart a traffic light pole to pole-dance, should the spirit move her.
And speaking of pole dancing and scantily-clad Dundalk hons, hereâs a âin a class of its ownâ Dundalk Yard Sale in front of what used to be the Memories strip club on North Point Boulevard:
The gals here were so âhotâ that the club burned down.
Perhaps the Dundalk dancerâs bikini will some day end up here, next to all those baby car seats. (Itâs not unthinkable. Baltimore Or Less has spotted used thongs for sale at a Middlesex Shopping Center thrift store!)
And finally, we would be remiss if we didnât take this occasion to send a musical shout-out to Dundalkâs median stripper courtesy of Crack the Sky, whose âSheâs a Dancerâ could easily be her theme song.
âAlright! I like the way she moves: sheâs a dancer!â

Off Duty Officer Has a Ball â Bites Baltimore Manâs Testicles on Cinco de Mayo
By Saliqa Khan (WBAL-TV, 5/6/2015)
An Anne Arundel County police officer faces an assault charge after he bit another manâs testicles in a fight over a woman on Cinco de Mayo, according to charging documents released by police Wednesday.
According to charging documents, a man told police he was assaulted by two men, one of whom bit his testicles in the alley behind Looneyâs Pub in the 2900 block of OâDonnell Street.
According to the charging documents, police said Michael Flaig, 31, was found on the second floor of the bar with blood stains on his shirt. Flaig identified himself as an Anne Arundel County police officer and after he was identified as one of the attackers, was placed under arrest, according to charging documents.

Anne Arundel officer accused of biting testicle in fight
By WMAR Staff (5/6/2015) ââŚInvestigators learned Flaig and the victim started to argue outside on OâDonnell Street after the victim saw Flaig allegedly rubbing his butt on the butt of a woman the victim knows.
The victim decided to go home a short time later and as he walked along South Linwood near Looneyâs he heard foot steps behind him and turned around to see a fist coming toward him, according to charging documents.
The victim lowered his head to avoid the punch and grabbed the arm of his attacker, later identified as Flaig, pulling him to the ground.
Police said the victim outweighed Flaig and ended up straddling Flaig. At the same time another man was hitting the victim.
Flaig was unable to get free and allegedly bit the victim in the testicle area, according to charging documents.
When police spoke with Flaig, he was slurring his words, had bloodshot eyes and smelled like alcohol, charging documents indicate. Flaig told Baltimore Police he is an officer with the Anne Arundel County Police Department.â

Buzzcocks in Baltimore: Many Happy Returns
Buzzcocks in Baltimore: The boys are back in town
Buzzcocks @ Baltimore Soundstage w/The Residuels, Expert Alterations April 18, 2015
Touring in support of their latest release, The Way (Pledge Music, 2014) â their ninth album over the course of a celebrated 40-year career (1976-81, 1989-present) and the first featuring new material since 2006â˛s Flat-Pack Philosophy â Buzzcocks stopped in Baltimore on April 18 for their first show here in four years (though they did visit Washington, D.C.âs Black Cat just last September). This was a real treat because Baltimore was one of only three East Coast stops for the fab foursome, who played New Yorkâs Irving Plaza on April 16 and Asbury Park, NJâs Stone Pony on April 17, before closing out their tour at the Baltimore Soundstage. (I suspect Buzzcocks fanboy Dave Cawley is responsible for Charm Cityâs inclusion on this brief tour, thanks to his overtures at the Black Cat club to Buzzcocks drummer Danny Farrant to âplease come back to Baltimore.â)
The collectible promotional poster for this concert was created by Baltimore illustrator Alex Fine (alexfine.com).
Watch Buzzcocks play âEver Fallen in Loveâ at Baltimore Soundstage.

Masked Baltimore Batman Defends Liquor Store with Machete During Riot
(Fox 45 Baltimore, 4/29/2015)
When violence erupted on the streets of Baltimore on Monday night, a trail destruction was left behind with cars being burned and businesses looted.
On Baker Street, residents and business owners came out to protect their property. Brian Woodyard was one of those people and heâs being called the âBaltimore Batmanâ for the way he was able to defend his workplace.
Woodyard works as a bouncer at the Old Clubhouse Bar and Lounge. He was working on Monday night, left before looters broke in through the front window and stole alcohol and tobacco, and then returned to work.Watch video at Fox 45 Baltimore.

Freddie Grayâs Funeral Service (4-27-2015)
Freddie Grayâs Funeral Service, New Shiloh Baptist Church
Our friends Todd Stachowski and Paul Brown at DoNotWatch, Inc. (follow them on YouTube) produced the following video documenting the Freddie Gray Funeral Service held Monday, April 27 at the New Shiloh Baptist Church in Northwest Baltimore. Stachowski, who filmed the service and interviewed attendees, was shocked that a funeral procession of this significance did not have a police escort; instead, a local motorcycle gang provided the escort.

RIP Gayety Theatreâs John H. âBudâ Nickel, Jr. (1971)
Rites Set For J. H. Nickel, Former Operator Of Gayety (The Baltimore Sun, 4/8/1971)
John H. "Bud" Nickel, Jr.
Funeral services for John H. Nickel, Jr., who with his sister owned and operated one of the cityâs landmarks, the Gayety Theater and Nightclub on The Block, will be held at 10 A.M. tomorrow at the Connelly funeral establishment, 300 Mace Avenue, Essex.
A requiem mass is being delayed until 8.30 A.M. Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Essex, because of Holy Week.
Bud Nickel, as he was known on The Block, died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital on Loch Raven Boulevard. He was 53.
Leading Burlesque House
âI donât have much heart to go down to The Block anymore. The flavor of it has been gone for me since the Gayety Theater burned on the first day of Christmas week,â he wrote in an article for The Sunday Sun in May, 1970.
The Gayety was not founded by his father but it became one of the nationâs leading burlesque houses under his management. Ann Corio, Margie Hart, Blaze Starr and the Carroll Sisters were some of the strippers that appeared there. Some of the comedians that appeared on its stage were Phil Silvers, Jackie Gleason and Red Skelton.
The theater was bought by the elder Nickel in 1910. Eight years later the son was born and he helped there as a youngster. After graduating from Calvert Hall, be began selling tickets and soon was helping to book acts.
Sister, 2 Sons Survive
âA thousand people filled the Gayetyâorchestra seats, balcony and boxesâand we sold out quite often. The place was open seven days a weekâŚâ the almost six-foot, 235-pound operator wrote.
He and his sister, Mrs. Marian Nickel McKew, took over the building in 1951.
Born in Baltimore, he served in the Navy during World War II.
Besides his sister, he is survived by two sons, Robert G. and John H. Nickel 3d, both of Baltimore.

WKHS Disc Jockeys Harken Back to Radioâs Golden Era
By Bill Arrowood (The Chesapeake Spy, March 26, 2014)
The community DJâs donate their time and musical acumen to produce radio like nothing else in the region, and offer their audience something unique and fantastic.
Dick Clark, Wolfman Jack, Cousin Brucie, Casey Kasem. Once upon a time American radio waves were filled with DJâs that delivered personality as much as spinning records. Gone are the days of a jockey like Dewey Phillips plugging a new single that could take a Mississippi gas station attendant and make him the King of Rock and Roll. Todayâs radio is dominated by a sheen of slick, homogenized auto-tuned music and the DJâs that are interchangeable as the pop tunes they play.
But in a tiny corner of the Kent County High School, there is a voice still crying in the wilderness that is distinct and unique and finding its audience far beyond the reaches of pastoral Worton.
The community volunteer DJâs on WKHS (90.5FM) represent a rare porthole into the past, with a medium that reaches out to share their evenings, personalities and songs with anyone fortunate enough to be in the broadcast radius. A range, that at 17,500 watts, reaches across the Bay into Baltimore, to Delaware and Annapolis, all told a population close to 750,000 is within shouting distance of the schoolâs FM transmitter located out in the cornfield behind the school.
Many local residents may not realize that the schoolâs broadcast is the only high school station in the state that emits off campus and is one of the most powerful scholastic stations east of the Mississippi. The community DJâs donate their time and musical acumen to produce radio like nothing else in the region, and offer their audience something unique and fantastic.

John Watersâs Favorite Stripper: Lady Zorro
The Butch Local Girl Who Looked Like Victor Mature
By Burlesque Babes (burlesquebabes.wordpress.com, 2/26/2015)
Her real name was Sheila Alberta Bowater.
Get by with a little help from my friends⌠A reader kindly posted a helpful comment to my original bio-less Lady Zorro post.
Hereâs the comment that led me to find out a little about Lady Zorroâs hard life. On October 11, 2009, Alex wrote:
ââŚÂ John Waters mentions a dancer named Zorro on page 75 of his book, Crackpot. He writes,âSheâd stomp around the stage naked after removing her cape and mast, sneer at the audience with pure contempt, and snarl, âWhat are you lookinâ at?â â Could it be the same lady? âŚâ
John Waters goes on to compare Lady Zorroâs looks to ruggedly-handsome actor Victor Mature. After seeing their photos side-by-side, Iâd have to say heâs right â and that there must have been only one Lady Zorro!
Here are some quotes from John Waterâs book, CRACKPOT, which was reissued in 2003 with updates from the author. Sadly, he informs us that Lady Zorro is no longer with us. I hope her daughter does write the book that John encouraged her to write.
You can read some pages of CRACKPOT on google-books here.
Crack that whip! Lady Zorro.
