i normally roll my eyes at classically linear games getting openworld sequels but an openworld kicarus game where u can fly (as much as pit can anyway) and explore everything would riiiiip..... pwease

imagined a new kid icarus game that served as a spiritual sequel to Of Myths and Monsters where you explore all of Skyworld, Earth, and the Underworld in order to de-petrify all of Palutena's centurions and (re)defeat Orcos and got light headed

i need kicarus tennis to be real and here's my list of special shots each character could make in case you thought i didn't have a list of special shots each character could make

palutena - power of flight ofc, sends the ball flying all different directions like a manic hummingbird

pit - hits the ball really high so it comes crashing down super fast

pitoo - shoots the ball super fast using his fancy arrow from smash

medusa - power of flight but more erratic and also the ball poisons u

viridi - wherever the ball lands on the field becomes inundated with vines and tall grass

hades - ball becomes rly big and heavy and also on fire

pandora - sends out two balls at once but only one is real

magnus - hits the ball with his sword? sorry i didnt actually think that hard about magnus. hi

phosphora - shoots the ball back and forth lightning fast so you don't know where it's coming from

dyntos - you KNOW he's hittin the ball with that truly Epic™ hammer

pyrrhon - wherever the ball lands becomes engulfed in flames

orcos (that's right babey we're bringing him back) - launches 3 balls at once, one of which (at random) is a bat (the animal not the sports item)

eggplant wizard (courtesy of crabadonk) - launches 1 ball and 2 eggplants

arlon - uses the moon's gravity to pull oncoming shots to himself or to pull offensive shots in hard-to-it curves

poseidon - the opponent's side of the field becomes covered in whirpool hazards

gaol - dons her armor but on purpose/bc she wants to use it to fire off a rly strong shot

thanatos - turns his hand into the racket to deliver a deadly shot

god of poverty - absorbs any incoming shot and turns it into an automatic point for itself

begging ppl to understand that musk et al's ai data centers arent evil bc of some mystical new form of pollution the ai is pumping out but bc of the gross disregard for environmental regulations that those ppl have always had and have always operated under when establishing data centers prior to the advent of generative ai. it's not spilling special ai smog into the air it's poisoning water supplies bc no one building them gives af abt the poor, mostly black neighborhoods nearby and are willing to cut every corner possible when constructing them

imo the difference is important to point out not as an excuse for the ai data centers obviously but to draw attention to the fact that past and current digital infrastructure is/was already poisoning the most vulnerable people in their vicinities and needs to be addressed when discussing environmental racism

Noor's little boy, Muhammed, is physically disabled. His condition is worsening as he is unable to get the regular physical therapy he requires while his family is barely able to keep shelter. He is regularly missing his medication which is scarcely available at too high a price.

This July, can we please give their fundraiser the push it desperately needs?
