Seriously: actually try to genuinely get to know the kind of things are out there, a resource out there may help you or a friend someday.  They are not perfect, but ignoring that they exist hurts more people than it helps.

Just introduced a kid to her adoptive parents. They brought her a dozen roses. We met at a restaurant. I arrived early to get a private booth and told the waitstaff what was up. So all the servers were having a cry in the corner. I’m at a coffee shop a few miles away, giving them space and having my own cry.

Adoptive mom clarified to me later: roses were pink because pink means forever.

What’s more important than the roses, though, is they also brought her a luggage set so she wouldn’t be moving her things in garbage bags. The luggage matches theirs, cause it’s family luggage for family trips.

31 abortion clinics shut down this year in 2016!! If there are roughly 730 abortion clinics in the U.S performing 3000 abortions a day than that comes to about 5 abortions per clinic, each day - that means approximately 155 lives were saved this year. That may not seem like a lot in the grand scheme of things but that sounds like a victory to me. Every life is precious and if just one can be saved I’m more than okay with that. I cannot wait to see what the prolife movement can accomplish in 2017. We have a lot of work to be done, a lot of love, support, and guidance to give. No matter how far we come in this journey we must always fight for the rights of the defenseless, we must show their humanity when others claim they have none, and we must ALWAYS support struggling mothers or women with unplanned pregnancies.

Those ‘abortion clinics’ also provided STD testing, early pregnancy planning and ultrasounds, birth control, treatment for infections and education.

Chances are that the 155 isn’t even accurate. There are people who don’t want to be pregnant. So either they will travel much farther to get one, or try to induce it themselves.

Also, do these other clinics OP mentions in another post take all insurance, or people with no insurance? Are they able to take everyone in who comes by or ask them to go to another clinic?

Actually, yes! The one I go to, as well as my husband, they take Medicaid (not sure about other insurance plans but I’m sure they take people with ACA) and people with no insurance, they have a WIC program I used when my son was younger, a dental program, and I was able to get very cheap birth control (which I’m no longer on for personal reasons). I also go their for an annual check up/pap smear, I have PCOS which is also checked on, with no cost because we qualify. If you research local health clinics you’ll see how much they do for low income families and pregnant women. There’s actually a website that will link you to a local health clinic in your area for people with low income/no income and for people with no insurance, can’t remember the name though :/ I’ll try and see if I can find it! It’s really helpful!

French Senate Passes Pro-Life Website Ban.  The bill adopted by the Senate by a vote of 173 - 126 will make it a crime to post pro-life information on the Internet.  Violators will face up to two years in prison and $30,000 in fines.  Read more here.   French Court Rules that Down Syndrome Children are Not Allowed to Smile on Television.  The court ruled that it was “inappropriate” to show happy children with Down syndrome on TV, as that sight could “trouble” women who chose not to give birth to their disabled children.  Read more here.

C_E_N_S_O_R_E_D: video "Dear Future Mom"

France to ban people with Down syndrome from smiling. Last week another big step was taken towards the mass persecution of children with Down syndrome...

On November 10th, the French ‘State Counsel’ rejected an appeal made by people with Down syndrome, their families and allies to lift the ban on broadcasting the award winning “Dear Future Mom” video on French television. The ban was previously imposed by the French Broadcasting Counsel. Kids who are unjustly described as a ‘risk’ before they are born, are now wrongfully portrayed as a ‘risk’ after birth too.

The video features a number of young people from around the globe telling about their lives. Their stories reflect today’s reality of living with Down syndrome and aims to reassure women who have received a prenatal diagnosis. Their message of hope takes away the fears and questions these women may have, often based on outdated stereotypes. The video was produced in 2014 to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. A day created by Down Syndrome International and officially recognized by the United Nations for the promotion of the human rights of people with Down syndrome.

The State Counsel said that allowing people with Down syndrome to smile was “inappropriate” because people’s expression of happiness was “likely to disturb the conscience of women who had lawfully made different personal life choices”.

So our kids, whom studies from the USA and the Netherlands have proven to be much happier than the cranky, sulky bunch who go trough life without Down syndrome, are banned from public television because their happy faces make post-abortion women feel uncomfortable. Women must continue to believe in the myth that society and medical professionals portray; that Down syndrome is a life of suffering, a burden to their family and society. Obviously, if the truth gets out that 99% of people with Down syndrome are happy with their lives, society may start to question the systematic screening and deliberate mass elimination* under the pretense of health-care and women’s rights.

* 96% of pregnancies that are diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted in France. Worldwide this number is estimated to be about 90%.

A couple points of clarification:

The decision made by the CSA and upheld by the Conseil d’État does not totally ban the video from being broadcast; it only restricts it from being broadcast as an ad.

The reasoning stated above was part of the decision, but not the only reason. The council judged that the video did not meet the criteria of a public service announcement which would allow it to be aired during an advertising block.

I am pro-life and honestly

I don’t care what percentage of Planned Parenthood’s services are abortion Or whether an abortion was late term Or whether it was due to a “morning after pill” abortifacient I care about the aborting mother’s circumstances because I love her, noting that her circumstances do not change the result  The result of every deliberate ending of a life in the womb, whether a zygote or a full term fetus Because guess what When the sperm and the egg unite  A life with unique human DNA is created

And I don’t believe I’m God I don’t believe that I can arbitrarily say  “you’re human now because you’re big enough you’re human now because you have a certain ability you’re human now because you have potential you’re human now because you have no disability you’re human now because you’re the right gender you’re human now because you are wanted you’re human now because you were expected you’re human now because your father is not a rapist you’re human now because you are independent you’re human now because you are loved.”

I don’t believe any human has the right to draw a line in the sand and assign other humans value.  Because as technology advances and enables them to keep younger and younger premature babies alive after birth, and your “viability” week line changes to 19 weeks, does that mean the worth of those children changes from worthless to worthwhile? Do they become human, these children of the future, when their ancestors at the same gestation were deemed non-human?

Any line we draw is arbitrary.

And I’d hope that, if someone is deemed human, it would automatically follow that it is wrong to kill them, no matter what. That they have rights, even if they cannot voice them, just as full term born infants have rights because they are human, even though they cannot voice them. Even though they are totally dependent on their mother to live. Even though they may or may not be wanted or expected. Even though they are small and fragile. They have human rights because they are alive.

No one contests that this entity in the womb is alive (except for the “parasite” camp, which most can see as the disgusting view that it is), nor do they contest that it is of the human species (as opposed to a cat fetus). What they contest is that this human life is equal to a “human being”, the loaded term that connotates a life with rights and dignity and equality with “us.”

And I do not believe human beings have the right or ability to assign dignity.

Do you have any info on the abortion pill reversal? The pro-choice side of tumblr is claiming its false and impossible.

This is a tough one, because the reversal protocol is so new. It takes years, sometimes decades for enough research to be done on a medication or treatment so that it can have the academic literature behind it that we expect from widely-accepted treatments.

Every new treatment or medication starts out at this early stage where data on effectiveness is still being collected. Abortion Pill Reversal has only been around since about 2011-2012, which is really recent in the context of medical research.

However, there are currently 230 physicians across America participating in this program by providing the treatment to women who change their mind after taking mifepristone. As more and more women take this option, we will have better numbers and better studies.

The theory is sound, and the results so far have been very encouraging. Essentially, mifepristone blocks the natural hormones that a mother’s body produces during pregnancy. These hormones sustain the uterine lining and support the developing fetus. If this hormone is blocked, the uterine lining shrivels and breaks down, cutting off oxygen and nutrition to the fetus.

The reversal treatment provides the missing hormones, allowing the uterine lining to continue providing nutrition and oxygen. Over time, the body begins to produce the hormone naturally again, and the treatments are reduced in frequency until they are no longer needed.

This means the treatment is not guaranteed, but a 57% chance is better than no chance at all.

It’s important to note that abortion pill reversal won’t work in every case. Factors include how far along the woman was when she took mifepristone, how much time passed between taking mifepristone and the first progesterone treatment, and any contraindications that would prevent her from taking progesterone.

Anyone who takes mifepristone (the first pill in RU-486) and changes her mind should immediately call 1-877-558-0333. A nurse will take your information and screen you to determine whether you are a good candidate for the progesterone treatment. If you are, you will be connected with the nearest doctor who is able to provide the treatment. That doctor will perform an ultrasound to confirm that the baby is still alive before beginning treatment.

Same here, my mom was told by doctors that she should have an abortion, because they said that I had Hydrocephalus and that both of use would die during the birthing process. But my mom was adamant about keeping me. And to this day we are healthy and happy.

Louisiana is experiencing the worst flooding in the history of the state.

Over 7,000 people have been rescued and over 5,000 people are in shelters unable to return to their homes. In addition, over 1,000 drivers are stranded on Interstate 12 between Baton Rouge and Slidell, who today received supplies flown in via helicopter. AT&T service has been down throughout the Baton Rouge metro area. One of my former professors told me he’s been living in Louisiana for 44 years, and has never witnessed flooding this severe.

In Denham Springs (about 10 miles from Baton Rouge), the Amite river is currently at 46′ and rising. Flood stage for the river starts at 29′. 

This is bad, really bad. Places that only flood once every 500 years are flooding. Unfortunately, these are also places where people don’t have flood insurance because they don’t live in a flood plain.

There was no warning for this, at least with hurricanes we can see them coming and have time to prepare or evacuate.

I’m pro-life because...

I’m pro-life because:

I believe that life begins at conception and the intentional killing of unborn children who would have otherwise survived to term is wrong.

I believe that the mother undergoing an unwanted pregnancy needs compassionate care and should be provided resources to protect both the child and to protect the well-being of the mother, from medical support, financial support, social support, emotional support, and psychological support. Especially if the result of rape or other traumatic experiences. This also means allowing the mother to give up the child for adoption by another family if this is the best option available. And that those children who are in foster care, waiting for a family to come and take care of them, should be provided for. I believe that we should encourage more people to adopt children, especially in cases where infertility is present, yet the couple still desires to have kids.

I believe that life, after having been born, is still precious and deserves protection, nurture, and advocacy. This means that those who are unable to financially support themselves and their families should receive aid in all forms from the community and the state so that they may be able to live healthy, productive lives and gain self-sufficiency so that they may eventually be able to give back to those that helped them. This especially applies to those men and women who bring new children into the world but may not have the money and ability to care for them on their own without help.

I believe that access to quality education and vocational training is a human right and that all should be able to benefit from these services. I believe that denial of these services to individuals because of social class, financial status, or other reasons is morally wrong. I feel it is a contradiction to expect that people should lift themselves up out of poverty while at the same time denying them these resources, which enable them to do so.

I believe that capital punishment is a moral evil and is never justified, even in extreme cases. I believe that, while in the centuries past it may have been a practical solution for the protection of a community, we are now able to incarcerate and reform individuals effectively enough that it completely negates any practical necessity for execution. I believe that calls for execution as a punishment for crimes committed is always because of a desire for revenge, which is the antithesis of justice. I believe that, since the right to life is God-given, it is incredibly arrogant to presume that we have the right to revoke it because the individual did something that we, as fallible human beings, deemed socially unacceptable.

I believe that all people are valuable, even in old age. I believe that it is absolutely correct to honor those who have lived and experienced life for longer periods than I have because such experiences will have granted them wisdom, knowledge, and perspective that I may not have yet achieved or gained. I also believe that these qualities make them an invaluable resource for society and that any decision to end one’s life prematurely, whoever makes it, denies such respect and dignity for the person.

However, if death is inevitable, then it is selfish and cruel to attempt to extend it beyond its natural means. While this does not allow for the shortening of the life of the person, we should allow for the natural courses to occur, all the while ensuring that the individual is entirely comfortable until the very end. Preserving life also requires preserving the quality of life. While taking a life through intentional means is immoral, maintaining existing life so that it is as comfortable as possible for as long as it still exists is a great good.

I believe that when I engage in society with intent to practice these values, I cannot focus only on one and ignore any of the others. I believe that all of our actions should be directed in order to do the most good that is possible. So, while practicality may mean that I may not be able to promote all of these values immediately through public policy, I will try to achieve that which I can while continuing to advocate in support of the others so that we may eventually succeed with them as well. In addition, I feel that these are all interconnected values, and so we cannot rightly achieve one at the fullest while ignoring the others. In fact, if we neglect others by focusing only on one or two of them, we will likely make the situation worse, overall.
