do you know how to use the selective color tool? apparently if you're painting on mostly one layer, you can pick out a color and adjust that. seems really useful but I'm a dumb dumb idk how to do it.

yeah i use it to color edit my images a lot!

it’s an adjustment layer so to use it you just go down here to this thing

click “selective color…”

then you’ll get a panel that looks something like this

and in your layers panel it should look something like this(so it affects all the layers that are under it unless it is masked or something)

there’s a tutorial that touches on how to use it here (and you can probably find a lot more if you look up something like “how to use selective color layers on photoshop”), but basically what it does is adjust a specific color in an image

eg. made reds warmer and darker

eg. made blacks cooler and lighter

i kind of just play around with the sliders until i get something i like!it might feel kind of complicated at first but after doing it a couple times things start feeling more intuitive i think
