Somewhere along the line, he must have gotten softer. Treno used to be one of his favorite places in the world, now the city held no appeal for him. Not even the weight of the stolen gold in his pocket was enough to lift his spirits. Letting out a heavy sigh the blonde emptied another oblivious nobles pocket before slipping into an alley way to inspect the stolen wallet.

Coins. Coins. Pearls and-

Pausing Zidane pulled an pale silver feather from the pouch. A twinge of guilt echoed in his chest as he looked it over. Wonder if... Twirling the feather between his fingers he looked out at the passing crowd.

"Maybe I should look for him again..."

Vanille also snapped out of it, turning to face him once he nudged her and smiled.

The answer to his question was a little complicated to answer. Vanille giggled as she came up with one. “You’re right on me not being from here! Just a regular hunter. One that hunts animals, y’know? What about you, Zidane?”

"Animals huh? Pretty thing like you?" He replied, chuckling softly as he rubbed the back of his neck. There was two options here; tell her he was a thief and risk her getting scared off or tell her he was an actor and risk rusty acting skills making him a liar. Option two. "I'm a uh, traveling actor. Though it's been a long time since I've found a stage to practice on."

Not liking the silence very much but respecting it, Vanille followed along, humming a little tune. She looked up in the sky, lost in her own thoughts. The Oerban grew a little restless and turned to ask Zidane something. It was quick, but she could swear that he wasn’t smiling. She wasn’t sure if she should leave him be or not. A little more quietly, she began humming again.

Snapping out of his reverie Zidane's smile returned, albeit a little more forced than before. Clearing his throat he gave her a playful nudge. 

"You're clearly not from around here. Too pretty to be from a podunk area like this. So are you a traveler? Maybe a treasure hunter?"

"That sounds wonderful" Vanille replied, her confidence quickly recovered. Tilting her head at the gesture, she looped her arm around his. "We shall!" she giggled.

Leading her across town he quietly mused about the last time he'd been able to relax. He hadn't been home in months and traveling alone was starting to take it's toll. For a moment, his smiles faltered,

Vanille didn’t like being the one getting flustered, only liking it when she flustered other people. Putting her hands at her side, she composedherself, positive her cheeks weren’t pink anymore. “Want to eat somewhere? I’ve been here for a while and haven’t had a thing to eat!”
