The angst thay can be milked from this AU.

Like, would Prowl be a good bond mate during Jazz's carrying or would he kinda be just as neglectful. Like,

"Dang, got my conjux sparked. Well, time to commit a war crime."

This also feels like putting poor Jazz through crazy amounts of stress. I can imagine him perhaps almost preferring to stay longer on missions because, while he misses his sparkling dearly, he grows to hate being around Prowl since they always argue.

I can imagine this is proabably more stressful for the kid, who almost never sees their sire even if they are right there, and the only time they see their carrier he's loki almost always injured and/or recovering from a mission and trying to not slime out their sire.

Everyone be suffering in this AU.

The only way I can see these things happening is if the sparkling is a complete 100% accident. Like somehow someway Jazz just doesn’t know he’s sparked. Perhaps Jazzs espionage systems prevented the myriad of warning signals alerting him of his carrying. Or maybe the sparkling itself was weak and dodged carrying detection. What if the sparkling just didn’t emit an EMF through the whole cycle?

And with Jazz being the medbay dodger he is, Ratchet couldn’t catch it either.

Maybe Jazz doesn’t notice because of the stress of his job.

Jazz and Prowls relationship before the sparkling was probably ’’’fine’’’ ( as in they were definitely an item but the war got in the way of making anything too official ) ( but also they’ve been together for so long that anything else is weird and foreign to them )

But the sparkling only brought out the worst parts of themselves. resentment works itself into the relationship and now they have to figure out how to overcome these new problems while also keeping this thing alive.

Jazz being sent on missions leaves most of the ‘’’parenting’’’ to Prowl who does not do relationships. I’m sure if given the appropriate amount of time to prep and work out a schedule things would’ve been better but it was not the way things panned out. Maybe they will get the hang of it? If Prowl puts forth the effort and Jazz gets the appropriate time and healing to put himself back together.

But who knows how long that will take … there’s a war effort going on.

Ooh, if we really wanted to add more spice to this, we could have Jazz find out about Tarantulas and Springer.

Like, "Tf you mean you had a test tube baby with a Decepticon, you hardly pay attention to your current one?!"

This would TEAR UP postpartum Jazz. How is he supposed to react to this information??

1) Prowl ‘’’cheated’’’ on him

2) He NEVER mentioned it

3) He is somehow more neglectful that he originally thought

What’s worse though? A sire who is physically present and not even trying. Or not even having the possibility for a sire-sparkling connection.

Bonus points for sibling bonding when the two kid meet each other. Springer comes to base and finds out he’s not the only one being neglected.

I’m not sure if I can see Jazz being so jealous he becomes unreasonable. He’s smart enough to understand how raising the kid himself with Prowl is impossible with the war going on, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. Isn’t he like social manipulator #1 due to spy work? He would have very good control of how he presents himself and his behavior, or he wouldn’t be a very good spy. I can still see him being jealous but I don’t think it would be so obvious as yelling, I think there would be a strange undercurrent to his interactions with the various designated uncles and aunts. I think if anything this might spark arguments with Prowl, because Prowl is on base so much more, surely he can make time for their kid

Ahh I see! You make excellent points! And I agree with Jazz being social manipulator #1 BEFORE CARRYING.

Carrying would change his ability to cope properly.

He’s a different type of Jazz. I’m thinking of a Jazz that loses himself in his work. One that has trouble putting himself back together after missions. Yes he’s the best but what does being the best cost? For jazz I think it costs his true sense of self. So yes his jealousy is OFTEN subdued but Jazz is losing his touch. Jazz has a piece of his spark outside of his control.

He’s gonna do whatever he feels will put himself in control. Which for sure includes arguing with Prowl.

Everyone already knows Prowls flaws but what are Jazzs flaws??? No one knows because he doesn’t want them too. Until he slips. His spark splits and leaves him incomplete.

Oh yeah those guys would not be stable parents . Depending on how and when the kid was raised they might get a decent chance at having some cool uncles and aunts though, so that would help

Ooo CONCIDER wildly jealous Jazz. He’s jealous that his own sparkling is being raised by other people and it causes him to be VERY territorial when he’s on base.

Poor kid… they’d probably be so confused. Having fun time with uncle Ironhide only for him to be yelled at by Jazz for some reason he doesn’t understand.

The scandal too of uptight rule enforcing Prowl to be an absentee sire from day one. Doesn’t even let his kid into the control room.
