hey guys!

so if you haven't noticed already, i am no longer using this tumblr. i have moved to a new place for a fresh start, and cut down on the number of blogs i follow by quite a bit. it's nothing personal, just something i felt the need to do because my interests have shifted quite drastically since my early days of tumbling (e.g., my new blog features a lot more anime/japanese fandoms as opposed to american/western fandoms). if you want to check out my new tumblr, drop me a line in the askbox. follow/not follow at will, no hard feelings, but i hope we can stay in touch :) cheers.

Movie trivia: Sofia Coppola wrote a lot of the film based on her life. The character of John (Giovanni Ribisi) was loosely based on her then husband Spike Jonze. Rumor has it that the Anna Faris’ character, Kelly, was supposedly Cameron Diaz, with whom Spike Jonze worked with on Being John Malkovich, though Coppola denied the connection in an Entertainment Weekly interview.

I wish people wouldn’t just see me as the Asian girl who beats everyone up, or the Asian girl with no emotion. People see Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock in a romantic comedy, but not me. You add race to it, and it became, ‘Well she’s too Asian’, or ‘She’s too American’. I kind of got pushed out of both categories. It’s a very strange place to be. You’re not Asian enough and then you’re not American enough.
