This is the best fucking thing I’ve ever seen
never kill yourself because who knows if guillermo del toro will make a film that stares straight into your soul and says "i see you, i understand you, and the cycle of violence can end" and you will leave a theater sobbing with hope
The Resurrection of Stanley Pines 🪦🩸
Guillermo del Toro on the Creature
Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein is about forgiving the person who brought you into this world without your permission when you do not want to be alive, and about forgiving yourself for being alive and accepting your life free of guilt and that is genuinely the most beautiful, validating thing I have ever seen in a film.
Young Justice 1998 Reading Guide ♪♪
here's a Compilation of All the Necessary and Recommended Comics / issues to Read if you want to get to Know the Original Young Justice team from the young justice '98 Series :-)
if you have ANY comments, Questions, concerns, etcc, or want More Content for these Guys, lmk ^_^ this may include Many of their appearances, but it's not even Close to All Of Them !!!
** THIS IS A SLIGHTLY ALTERED VERSION!! I EDITED SOME MINOR DETAILS , SO IF IT'S DIFFERENT FROM WHATEVER YOU'VE SAVED, THAT'S WHY :-)
How to read X-Men?
For the dear X-Men fans that came in through 97 (or the movies) and are confused as to where to start the comics! Don't let the internet fool you, there is only one way and it is by starting with Giant size X-Men #1 (1975). No I am not kidding, it truly is the only right way to get the full story😭 (unless you want to go ALL THE WAY to 1963, I don't necessarily think it's that vital)
This is me trying to keep ppl from making the same mistake I did, starting with wheadon's astonishing X-Men ☠️
Here is a very useful pic of what to read next 💞 good luck!
This is to get ALL the context and major story arcs still referenced today. So I believe it to be vital for the other eras. (I don't know how you can fully understand jean and Scott's relationship today without having read inferno or dark phoenix for example)
Now, If you just wanna read for one specific character, that's a different story! Character specific reading guides that concentrate on the important issues across time exist! Look for those they're very useful <3

2. 요즘 것들의 사생활/요즘사
3. 무소속 생활자
4. 기담: 이상하고 신비한 이야기
*not specifically designed for learners, but great for immersion at any level and i guess at an intermediate level it can be learning material

5. Choisusu’s Korean Podcast (with script for beginner and intermediate learners)
6. Didi의 한국문화 Podcast (with script for intermediate learners, would be unrealistic if i’d say for beginners)
7. Annyeong Radio (with script in the description, also more for intermediate learners bc spoken faster and more natural)
————
Korean podcast website and app 팟빵/podbbang (they have a vaste variety of korean podcasts)

i really like podcasts bc you can immerse yourself in the language while you’re on the train on your way to work or doing boring household chores etc. you’ll get used to the pronounciation, flow, speed, filler words. vocab and grammar in context. as you understand more and more you can use the pods that are not especially designed for learners, as learning material too, you just have to be patient and put a little effort in one step at a time.

Chinese History Timeline
There won't be a post this week (sorry, am finishing up a commission atm, should be done soon though), but I did make this Chinese history timeline in advance:
I realized that some dynasty names could be mixed up due to their pinyin being very similar (ex: Qin and Qing dynasty) and some time periods might be confusing because too many things were happening at once, so I thought it would be nice to give a timeline, and everyone could refer to it if needed.
(this timeline is translated from a nice visual I found online)
Gotta catch 'em all !
108 days before HSK
yeah, the language learning process is.... going, for sure. I'm reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir in four languages.
I finished the English version a while ago but I just couldn't stop re-reading it so I went "might as well" and got the other language versions.
挽救计划 is the simplified character version of mandarin chinese and I'm making a huge progress. I mean I didn't know I could read that well in Chinese? I think I can finally get into Three Body Problem. Anyway, I've been reading and highlighting new vocabularies that I can understand from context but haven't encountered before. And then I just write them down in a vocabulary list while watching tv or something else.
極限返航 is the taiwanese madarin version and 프로젝트 헤일 메리 is the korean version. I haven't made a lot of progress in either of them because I got really into the simplified character version. I also looked for the japanese version but no dice. It's fine though. I'm focusing on Chinese these days anyway.
