☆.｡.:* nancy thoroughly enjoys learning. she seeks the truth & enlightenment. while this doesn’t always mean she finds school thrilling, it’s important to note how much she enjoys learning something new & getting wiser. ☆.｡.:* her friends. i know it sounds obvious & simple, but this is a big thing for nancy. she doesn’t have the widest circle of friends, but when she makes a close one —– it’s for life. she shares her scars with them, develops an intense relationship that she puts a lot of effort into. sometimes she ends up focusing too much on one person or issue to the point where she disregards those efforts, but for the most part she’s incredibly serious when it comes to friendship. ☆.｡.:* organization & aesthetics. nancy enjoys being tidy, it just makes life easier that way. there’s a certain flow to her room & her belongings that’s just right. she takes a bit too much pride in the visually appealing style she’s created in her surroundings. this however isn’t as true for her look itself. she does enjoy her style & isn’t afraid to admit it, but she’s not quite as proud of it. she looks like a person, she pays attention to looking presentable & nice, but she isn’t one to gloat about it. ☆.｡.:* fighting. it’s not like she’s going to take up a hobby in boxing or anything, but when nancy gets to fight for what’s right ? she’s reaches a secure & strong state that she usually doesn’t feel anymore. fighting the bad guys, doing the right thing, it inspires nancy in ways not many other things can. it’s never great having to fight for your life, but knowing you can changes you for the better. smaller general likes list ! ☆.｡.:* hot chocolate | home cooked dinner/family dinners | long conversations | walking to clear her head | gift wrapping ( goes with the organizing ) | puzzles/riddles | drinking, but not for the wrong reasons ( to feel better/because she’s sad ) | nice smells/perfume/lotions things like lavender & vanilla or pine trees | teaching others ( goes along with learning )

☆.｡.:* tells jokes only she gets, basically to herself, because it makes her smile. ☆.｡.:* spends a lot of her alone time thinking of her friends & loved ones. to connect with them, she thinks about them deeply & often. trying to gain some empathy or understanding. ☆.｡.:* finishes homework in advance so not to worry about it later, especially the subjects she’s better at. it’s easy to get over with quickly, though sometimes she puts in extra effort. if she enjoys the subject & has free time. ☆.｡.:* uses her gaze to speak. that’s one of the things she liked about jonathan right away, they had a silent connection. that meant more to her than any verbal one ( she starts understanding & connecting with steve more when he’s able to do this, which she believes is because he’s matured ). ☆.｡.:* enjoys alone time. spending time getting things done or just relaxing do make her happy, but as things get worse for the town she finds more comfort in company. being around people she trusts makes her happier, but a little alone time is still nice too. ☆.｡.:* watches people. it goes along with the silent communication. reading people to see what they might need or to know more about them is useful ( when she cheered up dustin by dancing with him, when she examined the people at the park & realized they were watching them back ). this is partially why she was so riled up by murray calling her out. he read them in seconds & not only that, he called out very personal things that were seen as faults. it was vulnerable & incredibly unsettling. ☆.｡.:* takes charge. if something isn’t getting done, or isn’t getting done right, she steps up. what better is there to do than get important things done ? relaxing is nice, but not with a guilty conscience. this goes with when she’s mad/annoyed. she charges on to face the problem ( when she slaps steve, when she chases mike for taking her money ).

          there’s defiance in her stature ----- not even words portray how disinterested she is in the idea. likely because whatever did come out of her mouth, could be easily disputed by mere facts.     to know jonathan was right, wasn’t the same as agreeing with him. they were working HARD. they shouldn’t have to stop here ----- but running on any less sleep than they’ve already gotten couldn’t be healthy. & it sure as hell wouldn’t help them against any major threats. 

         “ are you sure there isn’t anything else to do first ? i mean, if we can’t prepare maybe we can plan ? i can think & lay down at the same time. ” it’s not frequent that nancy’s the one without the right words to say. in fact, she prided herself in becoming a more articulate person over the past year or so. they were forced to grow up pretty quickly after all. she had no choice but to mature a little bit. where she became tougher, jonathan got wiser. in what world would that mean she’d win this fight ? no matter how much she changed, her values still remained the same.
