I'm the only person I know who ships Xaden and Dain together, and that's fine. That's my true enemies-to-lovers story right there.

I had a fanfic where I wrote Jack Barlow as a Rebel, too. He's still maniacally evil, but he also has a soft spot for Gryhons.

My favorite thing I wrote for him was, "the cold scales of a dragon could never compare to the soft warmth of a Gryphon and its feathers. The comfort of their wings are such a wicked contrast to these flying lizards." He still hates dragons.

The Rebels in Basgiath know Jack is trouble, but he's often reined in by Xaden to behave. Imogen has very sassy, spitfire sister energy, and so on with other Rebels who are familial to Jack.

While he does come off antagonistic, Jack does eventually become a reliable ally to both Riders and Rebels alike.

I don't hate Xaden but I think it's time to put aside the insecurity and just be Dain's friend because this competition for Violet is actually non-existent.

Dain wasn’t crazy for being concerned. he was a 21-year-old who saw his best friend stop talking to him and get in a relationship with an older guy who wanted her dead months ago, and was directly above her in a military chain of command

xaden and violet are perfect but he was honestly maybe the only sane one for being concerned
