Klaus looked up, faking a smile that was almost believable to anyone who didn’t know him. Slowly, he pushed his things in front of him aside, resting his elbows on the table as if he was genuinely thinking about what to suggest to the other.
“Perhaps the blueberry chamomile tea? Depends on the mood…” Klaus nodded to the chair across from him.
“How are you feeling? What do you need? Calmness? Relaxation? Energy? There are plenty of options to choose from…”
Aubri liked to think she was good at reading people; truth was she didn’t know if that was true or not. The least she could do was try. Her time spent in law school proved that she couldn’t be the worst at it, so there was that.
So the girl denied any narrowed eyes or too much suspicion and sat in the chair opposite them. “That does sound good.” She gave a shrug, not really being able to quite work out her mood at the moment. Maybe boredom with a hint of perplexity, but she wasn’t about to voice that.
“I suppose calmness could do the trick.”
