so cute... i love them... also, doesn't fulbright look good with a black tie? or is that just me...

small note, i took some liberty translating blackquill's "i won't forget your words just now..." since the original is closer to "did i just hear something i can't ignore...?" and if i kept it that way it'd be more like i translated it literally, instead. i think it works better this way.

i made it... i finished one paper so i rewarded myself with a short comic before i force myself to get back to work... i will do a one-pager as my next reward then go work on the longer ones when i'm free...

did you miss me? uni is so much more than i was expecting... two research papers and a lab report due... next week?! ugh... have a short phantomquill comic in the meanwhile...

by the way, during the time the phantom locks himself away in the bathroom, he refers to himself with "watashi", and not "jibun" (which fulbright usually does). and also i replayed dual destinies just to check what fulbright calls blackquill, but if i have to type "prosec- utor black- quill" one more time... i'm sorry, please forgive me... also, blackquill being lonely at the end without "fulbright", how cute...

i say this about every artist i link but go check out their other works! they're all so very good. i will 100% be translating the other comics they've posted so... get excited...

remember when i said i was going to get distracted with a claypollo comic? it happened sooner than i expected. in all honesty, i am a claypollo truther. i really liked this manga and the idea in general that all apollo would have left of clay are old photos and recordings. they genuinely thought they were both finally going to realise their dreams.

sorry about the ugly typesetting; i will improve, i promise... i like to try my best and translate everything including the sound effects. i think the effort is worth it in the end. one note: when clay signs off "with love", he says "with respect and affection" in the raws. i think in english it'd be "warm regards" or "yours truly", but i... am biased...

classes have started for me again so my workflow will be impacted (since it's a one-man team) but i plan on translating another short phantombright comic before i come back and lock in with part two. speaking of part two, it's told from clay's pov. i hope you will look forward to it.

any phantombright shippers here (me)... i really like the idea artist came up with about fulbright haunting the phantom in jail... the last scene with the phantom maskless and trembling has been stuck in my head since forever.

anyway some notes this time: originally in the first panel phantom's sfx is "ゲッソリ", but i thought changing it to "annoyed" in the tl would match phantom's expression better. also, the line "your conscience is showing" is more like "your guilt is emerging" but i feel like i've never heard anyone say the latter in english, so i went with the first one since i think they carry similar meaning anyway.

other than that, i might also start a side quest and translate a claypollo comic in the future, but my focus will still be phantomquill/blackbright/phantombright/all of them at once.

urk... i love the face phantom makes...

slightly rushed translation this time, i thought this was cute and wanted to translate it. i try to avoid having text vertical whenever i can, so while i was cleaning i ended up turning the label boxes 90 degrees as well. another thing i try to avoid is tagging phantomquill as blackbright (and vice versa) but in this case i feel as though it is both.

god aren't they just so cute. like my blog name might suggest, phantomquill consumes my every waking thought. this artist also has a blackbright comic that is very sweet, though unfortunately i won't be translating that one. their artworks are lovely, please consider checking their page out (especially the comic titled "choco bear").

anyway i do want to add as a side note that when i translate i try to keep things as close as possible to the original but sometimes i paraphrase if i think there's a better way to convey it.
