contemplating if i should write anything from my recent trip to Japan. i haven’t written anything proper in ages and certainly have not written on tumblr in maybe a year. things have been going very well for me recently and i’ve been enjoying it. i know it sounds very cliche but hey, who’s stopping me? anyway, i might want to do it tomorrow if i have the time. so... stay tuned? if anyone is even out there reading this!
sneaking in a tiny hello.
to anyone who’s reading this, hello!
it’s been 6 months since i’ve written anything on this platform. the reason for this is because i’ve fallen out from using tumblr and have since switched myself to using a microblogging platform instead. i don’t plan to delete my page since there were plenty of memories made and i might come back once in a while if i ever felt like sharing photographs that i’ve taken throughout my travel journeys. tumblr is and will be one of my favourite places to share photos.
i hope everyone is well!
till then.
Gwangjang Market.
when we first planned this trip, we had so much on our itinerary and a lot of it included plenty of places to eat. there were so many things that we wanted to try and places that we wanted to go but there was only so little time for us to do everything. our itinerary did not go as planned all the time because we were always too damn knackered from walking all day long. so when it was time for meals, we would settle for anything in the end! but there were, of course, some places that we made sure to visit no matter what and Gwangjang Market was definitely in the list. it was a hole for both tourists and locals and it was definitely one of our best decisions made.
all the scent and sounds, it was such a robust place. so busy and people were just bustling by from stalls to stalls.
and i love the concept of sharing tables with many strangers, all that bumping of elbows and awkward smiles.
it took us one round of walking around to decide where to make our pit stop.
if there was one thing that you needed to try, it was definitely the mung bean pancake. the batter was made by mung bean which was grounded into a paste.
we also found out that there were fresh and good raw beef at the market too! i remember that it was tea time then but what a shame, there were only two of us. after much contemplation, we could only settle for a plate of raw beef and mung bean pancake.
it was the best choice of my life and i’m glad that i managed to convince my friend about having the raw beef. #noregrets
if i had an extra stomach, these soondaes would’ve ended up in my tummy.
i’m about to state the obvious but here’s a tip for all- go there with an empty stomach.
now on how to get there:
we got there by foot because we were (sort of) around the Dongdaemun area plus we didn’t mind some exercise. use the Naver map and it’ll get you there! the only downside is that the Naver map is all in korean, both of us can do a bitttt of basic korean so we managed to get by after fiddling around the app.
or
just take the train.

hi guys, i’m not sure if i should blog about my recent trip to Seoul because i’m feeling a tad lazy. i haven’t done this in a longggg time for obvious reasons; 1) work 2) it’s the only trip i’ve been ever since i started working 3) where do i even find the energy lol but since i’m on a break now, i figured that i should do some things that i used to enjoy! i may or may not write about it. i left my japan post hanging because i got tired of updating it heh + my attention span is very (VERY) short. i’ll decide soon! hope everyone’s well. and i’m not sure who still reads here, i’ve been inactive for ages too.
till then! take care.
i still dream about these taiyaki from time to time.
Tokyo #2 - Tsukiji Market.
we set out for Tsukiji market for brunch and we were expecting a crowd since it was Golden Week and a lot of them were on holiday. it was definitely worth the queue despite the crowd when we know there is a feast of fresh seafood waiting ahead of us.
Tokyo #1 - Mt. Fuji & Hakone.
so here’s the thing. i have a very short attention span and i admit that. right now, i’m planning to write about my recent trip to Tokyo (it was a 5 days trip) and i’m not sure if i’ll ever finish writing about it (lol i mean, i left my grad trip hanging.. ) but i’ll try! if i don’t, i might just post the remaining photos individually. i’m not sure who reads this anyway but it’s nice to have something to read back (provided that i actually finish writing about it) but here it goes!
