so there’s this psychology thing called the ideal parent figure protocol (IPFP) where basically, if your parents sucked, you can listen to a guided meditation and visualise being a newborn child with ideal parents who take you home and they’re standing over you in bed like “omg you’re so cute and we’re so happy you’re here” and all this kind of thing, and it’s supposed to be helpful.
I hadn’t thought about the IPFP for a while, but when they gave me codeine for my hernia surgery, I was just blissed out afterwards in the recovery room, and opioids blunt pain and make you experience all the same emotions as love, so it always feels very mummy vibes to me.
and I went into this daydream where I flashed back to how I once listened to this YouTube therapist Kim Sage doing an IPFP guided meditation and I regressed to where I was a kid in bed and this trans lesbian couple who were my real (true and secret) parents were there and it felt really cozy and nice :3
