Reposting a good memory photo from Olympia, WA, and one of our last motorcycle trips of 2022. This was just a little over two weeks before I would start chemotherapy and I still had questions and confusion about why I had to put myself through something that would make me feel bad, make me feel like a cancer patient, when I had been feeling so good all summer after recovering from my surgery in June. It was a long day on the road that day, but beautiful (except for the moment when that woman decided to pull an unexpected u-turn on a highway right in front of us and could have easily killed us had Farzad not managed to stop in time and maintain control of the bike at high speed)…. We had a beautiful dinner that night at a favourite restaurant along the Olympia marina, we sat for hours just talking, enjoying a nice bottle of Pinot Noir and fine seafood. I talked to Farzad about the questions I still needed answers to, and my fears of what lay ahead, and he just listened and really heard me. It was a deep connection and honest understanding we both needed, and we both felt much more at peace after that.
