Pretty Girl At Home Library🦋
As I’m sure we all can agree, all this free time we’ve had has had to be spent doing something, right? I’ve implemented an hour of reading daily into my self improvement routine. It’s added to my confidence, and my hobby list. I don’t think a girl can truly become her highest self without expanding her mind and the information she already knows.
Here I’m going to share my reading collection with you all and some of my favorites. All of these books can be found on amazon.com ✨
Beauty: all of these have taught me new techniques for my regimens. and have also taught what I need to STOP. so far my personal fave is the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. I’m super into makeup and cosmetics and this book leaves nothing out. it elaborates on skincare, tools, skin types, careers. if you’re even semi interested in makeup or esthiology, I recommend this. ♡
Inspo and Fashion: as a fashion student I’m always trying to learn techniques, find inspiration for looks, and I love to hear the journey of another woman who was once like me. all of these books have a great aesthetic, offer really nice fashion tips, quite literally are meant for fashion students, or inspire me heavily. The Fashion Design Reference and Specification Book is a MUST for anyone who wants to pursue a career in fashion. it’s literally all you need. it’s extensive but an easy read and any fashion icon deserves this book.
Self Help: in the TREND of becoming your highest self, a lot of people are taking in potentially harmful information, and focusing on the wrong first steps in general. in order to become exclusive you have to know in your heart, underneath the voice and dresses and heels that you are untouchable. it’s more than just dainty jewelry and Louis Vuitton handbags, two things I love. it is definitely easier said than done but to truly reach your full potential you have to try. getting to know yourself and integrating positive traits in your person should come before you listen to a YouTuber tell you how to dress in order to appear worthy a womanly existence. (in no way am I saying these women are giving bad advice, I watch some of them even, but they are giving advice on the additives, and the embellishments) no handbag, heels, or makeup look will convince anyone, ESPECIALLY NOT A MAN, to like you if you don’t know that underneath it all you are truly high value. your soul is high maintenance and cannot be impressed with bare minimums, not just your exterior or bank account. Je Ne Sais Quoi hits all facets of this, truly. it teaches confidence, personal style, healthy habits, charm, and just overall excellence. if you take nothing from this part of the post, please go buy this book. also Style Your Mind is amazing. it’s almost like guided journalling. it’s fun and easy but when you go back and read what you wrote, you learn much about yourself, even some hard truths. this is a crucial step to self acceptance and improvement.
Love and Spirituality: these books have honestly been maybe the most interesting part of my readings. this may be because I’ve never read books like these, and new experiences tend to stand out. these books focus on healing and channeling positive energies we all hold within us or teach us the tricks of the trade when dealing with men. I personally am a HUGE fan of The Power of the Pussy and Heal Thyself. the first one is a true no nonsense book on these men out here. you might even get your feelings hurt reading some parts. consider this growing pains and it’s also overall entertaining. the latter being a book heavy on spiritual routine and AMAZING recipes to serve your soul. let me tell you I love the recipes in this book, they’re so flavorful and feel amazing going down. it may be the placebo effect but I just feel like I’m doing my body a favor every time I read something in this book.
Miscellaneous: overall, all of these are really fun reads. if you’re into my aesthetic and want something light and entertaining, you HAVE to buy this Clueless book. I love it, I literally read it in my Cher narration voice. it’s a true collector’s item. or if you love astrology or are even a little interested but don’t understand really, check out The Complete Guide to Astrology. this is how I learned my houses and planetary signs. learning my planet signs was so fun and interesting. 100% recommended.

How can I get my skin silky and smooth and soft? My skin is always soo dried
As someone who has dermatitis I can relate to having super dry skin too! Luckily there are some amazing products that can be used to treat dry skin. 🫧
CeraVe, Cetaphil and La Roche Posay are my top 3 brands when it comes to looking for cleaners + moisturizers that treat dry skin.
Use a moisturizing cream instead of a moisturizing lotion for better results.
Ingredients are your best friend when it comes to treating dry skin. AHA, BHA, Retinol, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide are my faves for dry skin. These ingredients can be found in The Ordinary + Good Molecules’ product line.
Daytime skincare routine for dry skin: Cleanse, Serum (Vitamin C), Moisturizer and Sunscreen.
Nighttime skincare routine for dry skin: Double cleanse, Tone, Targeted Serum (AHA + BHA) and Moisturize.
Try snail mucin! As crazy as it sounds snail mucin has helped keep my skin super soft. Peach Slices and COSRX are my brand recommendations for snail mucin.
Laneige lip masks are perfect for dry lips!
Keep lip balm, moisturizers and hand creams with you when you’re out and about.
Body creams work better than body lotion for dry skin.
Use a sugar body scrub for exfoliation!
Dry scalps are also common with dry skin. Living Proof as an amazing dry scalp serum + First Aid Beauty also released their dry scalp/dandruff hair products a while ago.
Stock up on dry skin products during the fall + winter seasons!!
Get a facial with an esthetician to work on dry skin! Hydrafacials are an amazing investment!
Visit a health care provider if your concerns about dry skin worsen!
Ok I have a question , but first I will like to say your blog is the best one I have ever seen ❤️❤️your like a big sister giving advice, so i have a question, how can I get my 🐱 and 🍑 soft ? And how can I keep them both fresh and smelling good. It embarrassing to say this but I just need help, when I asked some family members they turn they face up and act like they never smelt before, so I just need help atp.
Aww thank you so much! As an esthetician this question is right up my ally as kitty care is my specialization. 🐈⬛🎀
How to keep your kitty + peach soft:
Go in for a Brazilian or Bikini wax. This is a great way to get rid of any unwanted hair and can help prevent ingrown hairs as well. If pain is something that worries you try sugaring instead! It is recommended to get a wax every 3-4 weeks when the hair is about the size of a grain of rice.
Invest in a vagacial or booty facial. These are a great way to keep both areas soft, smooth and free of hyperpigmentation. This can be done once a month but can also be done every 15 days depending on the skin type and skin concerns for that area.
If you choose to shave make sure you are using a good + clean razor. Razors should be changed out every 5-7 shaves! Shave against the grain of your hair for the best results!
Laser hair removal is another option. Note that laser hair removal does not get rid of hair growth permanently but it does slow the rate of your hair growth tremendously. Electrolysis is the only method to completely remove any unwanted hair.
I use the Peach & Lily KP Bump Boss as a way to keep my skin extra soft and smooth. I only use this on the Mona Pubis area and do not use it on any other sensitive areas of the kitty.
Use Fur Professional products! Their line is used by many estheticians including myself for both intimate areas of the body.
Cleaning 101:
Your kitty cleans itself regularly which is why some people only clean theirs by rinsing with water. If you choose to use a soap I recommend Dove’s Unscented Body Soap or Dr. Bronner’s Pure Unscented Castile Liquid Soap. Remember to only wash your Mona Pubis + Outer Labia area and avoid getting soap on sensitive areas.
Summer’s Eve products should only be used to restore your pH and to provide temporary relief for minor irritation or itching.
Remember all kitty’s have a certain scent that many describe to be like a bread scent. If the smell is strong, continues to worsen or begins to cause pain and itching please contact a health care provider!!!!
tips to get rid of strawberry legs ?
Use proper shaving techniques
Moisturize your skin daily
Exfoliate!!!!
Use body products containing salicylic or glycolic acid
Professional treatment can also be used (laser hair removal or electrolysis)
What are some good moisturizers for your body
Paula’s Choice Retinol Skin-Smoothing Body Moisturizer
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
Dove Whipped Body Cream
La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+
First Aid Ultra Repair Cream
The Body Shop Body Yogurt
I have a question, so when it comes to skin care , is it fine if you just wash your face with water , then just use a exfoliater and a moisturizer? Or do you need a cleanser?
Cleanser is the most crucial step in your skin care routine! This is how you remove majority of your makeup if your wear any. If you don’t wear makeup cleansers get rid of excess dirt and impurities off of your face. Cleansers are used to clean your face! Your skin will look healthy, hydrated, glowy and clear. Without a cleanser your skin will be more prone to breakouts, dehydration and premature aging.
Here’s a simple 5 step skin care routine to follow:
Cleanser (1-2 times a day)
Exfoliator (1-2 times a week. Best used during the PM)
Serum (2 times a day)
Moisturizer (2 times a day)
Sunscreen (Everyday. Reapply every 2 hours)
If you’d like to add a face mask do that after exfoliating during the PM. 🫧

how to study and excel like rory gilmore from season one of gilmore girls ♡
we are in fall and what better time is it to make a rory gilmore post?
let’s begin!
READ.
read everywhere and anywhere you can, read classic books and books that suit your interest. read books that you could bring up in a conversation. read for fun! a lot of rory’s vocabulary has to do with the fact that she’s a bookworm, get into the passion of reading and watch as you naturally start to look up words you’ve never seen or heard of before.
-get into a habit of bringing a book wherever you go
-start reading whenever you feel the itching urge to scroll mindlessly through social media
take school seriously and have ambitions.
apart of studying well is knowing why you’re doing it in the first place. what are your dreams? what’s your dream school and what can you do to increase your chances of going there or pursuing a certain career? education is something no one can ever take from you and it’s important, make sure to hold onto that and value it. you can tell rory is serious about school and thinks about every detail even down to her school supplies in episode 4 her mom mentions how she really thought out about the fact that she needed specifically 3 highlighters in rory’s words, “one dries up, one gets lost, i have one left.”
-plan out everything you need to do in order to reach your academic goals
- reach out to your teacher/professor and ask them for their opinion on other things you can do that makes you stand out from other students and things you can do to improve your grades
study until you can’t get it wrong.
rory was very studious of her grades which showed in how much she studied. she asked her mom for help in quizzing her when she needed it and she even studied more to make sure there was no room for possible failure. she studied at luke’s in the morning before school and she cut out anything that was considered a distraction when it came to getting her studying and work done. like in episode 4 when her mom was trying to get her to take a break and get icecream rory kept telling her that she couldn’t because she was studying, and eventually left the kitchen where she was studying to go to her room since her mom was being a distraction.
-limit your distractions, keep your phone in another room or on do not disturb when getting work/studying done
-have a study buddy
-make sure to give yourself breaks in between doing homework and studying so you don’t get burnt out
don’t let obstacles bring you down.
rory had a lot of obstacles once she got into chilton, the school environment was different, difficult, and more strict, she had competition and on top of that she was behind a lot of assignments and had to catch up. she told her mom that she knows the reason she got her first d on an assignment was because she needed to catch up and she can and will do that, and that she wasn’t ready to give up on chilton just yet. rory knew that chilton was a stepping stone to get to her dream school harvard and knew it was worth it to put in all the extra work. whatever obstacles you go through in your own life, don’t let it threaten and scare you but use it as motivation to end up on top, and dont forget the end goal and reason why you’re doing this in the first place.
-know that anything you put your mind to you can achieve
-don’t let other peoples opinion of you suddenly change your worth and make you second guess the things you know you can do
-be realistic and be easy on yourself
i think it’s important to note that rory wasn’t perfect and she definitely had her moments where she felt like she couldn’t handle everything but the thing is, she always picked herself back up and started to put the effort in again which gave her the results she deserved. dont give up you got this! happy new school year and fall everyone!
What is your study routine/schedule now? Thank you for the amazing blog!
my updated study routine 🧠 🎀
- the week before lecture, i make concept maps/read the relevant chapters for class. once our powerpoint slides are posted, i skim them so that im familiar with the terminology/overall topics ahead of time.
- after class, i listen to my lecture in 1.5x speed (i dont always record lecture. typically do it for very intricate topics/when i know my focus is off so i can still have important info when i listen later). i take the notes i wrote on my ipad/my concept maps and put them into a google doc. i make physical flashcards for the medications/charts that are important for my exam. i review this info daily.
- my study sessions are 75mins on, 15mins off. i do three of 75s, then a one our break. sometimes im not in the headspace to do 75, so i start with 50 and add time to the timer if i feel like i can keep going!
- once all of my materials are together, i use supplemental resources to review big picture stuff. my textbook covers EVERYTHING and watching youtube vids/nclex review books helps me to see the big picture. ‘simple nursing’ on youtube has great content review videos and study guides, especially for med surg
- once im confident with my knowledge of the material, i start doing practice questions. this helps me to
a. test my knowledge
b. apply it
in nursing school, memorizing is only the beginning. you have to be able to answer questions that use different wording than you’re familiar with. as you progress in the program, the question difficulty progresses as well. i do lots of critical thinking/priority questions using Saunders, Med Surg Success (these are both books), and quizlet.
- the closer i get to the exam, the less i study. sounds kind of backwards, right? but reviewing everything the night before is not what’s going to make me perform well on my exam. the work i put in weeks prior, and the questions i did to challenge myself is what makes the grade. in a previous post i mentioned having anxiety. it’s the WORST the night before an exam, so i just prep my materials for lecture, tidy my room, and relax. i have clinical the day before exams anyways so i just want to shower, and curl up in my bed after being up since 4:30am!!
- i remind myself that i know the material well. i have put in the work. that breaks are more than okay. that i am a human before i am a student. and i repeat this process for every exam after!
you’re welcome! thank you for your support <3
