“Okay, but like...why? I’m sick of dealing with idiots Dav.”

“Oh, well, then I guess you know where I’m coming from then. I don’t even know why I left to be honest with you..”

“Exploring other parts of the world? I have no idea, since I’m not you. But I left because my sister and I made a pact once I graduated to move in together. And we moved to Boston.”

“I’m surprised my phone isn’t dead from the amount I’ve used it today. It feels like my ear is permanently ringing.”

“That’s exactly how I feel. I’m right there with you.”

“Try Baltimore…I can bet you any amount of money the weather is better here than there.”

[barbiersimone]

“I’ve been there. I’ve got a hotel there, actually.”

[noramccolley]

“Yeah, one of the things I never got used to was the weather…you’d think after being gone four years you would miss it.”

“That is very true. I lived in Boston. The weather is so much different than down here in Southport.”

“Wow, things sure haven’t changed around here, have they?”

[barbiersimone]

“Well, it comes with time passing. And the storm that just barreled on through.”

“Left at the end of the block then left, left at the end of the block then left. Got it.” he said, patting at his pockets in an attempt to find his marker, deciding that he really ought to write the directions down.

Simone watching him for a minute before taking the pen from behind her ear, she always kept one there because she needed to take notes or something when she was doing phone calls. She held it out to him with a small smile. “Pen?”

“I’ve been non-stop on the phone trying to get things sorted and together for my new store, and nobody’s being any help on the other lines.”

“Oh, I know what that’s like. Every employee of mine thought I was dead because my phone died now I’m calling everywhere reassuring them that, no, I’m alive.”

Free booze and puppies to everybody who joins?

I’m too lazy for that.

Well then the town won’t change at all.

“I don’t mean to be a pain in the arse but could you possibly point me in the right direction, I’m um- here, I’m trying to get here.” Tully explained, handing the person opposite him a laminated note which read “home” and an address below.

“Bit lost, I’m afraid.”

Simone hung up the phone and turned to look at the guy who was talking to her. “Oh, uh.” She took the note and looked at it for a minute. “You just...” She turned her head and thought. “Take a left at the end of the block and then....another left.” She paused, “I think.”

“I feel like my ear is going to fall off with all the phone calls I made today. I definitely need a drink tonight.”

“I am right there with you. I haven’t gotten off this stupid phone since the storm ended.”

“Why didnt it happen? I-I mean I’m glad that it didnt because that would be weird..”

“Relax, it didn’t happen cause we moved. Or, we were planning on coming back down here so it didn’t end up working out.”

Jesus, everybody in this town is so highly strung. You all need to relax.
