The concept of a villain who kidnaps heros and spys to try to collect information for later evil deeds.

The Villian keeps kidnapping hero’s in pairs and dosing them with truth syrup to get the most information.

The villain keeps running into the problem where the heros they kidnap keep NOT telling him the vital information and KEEP confessing their love for one another.

He thinks he’s in a James Bond movie while he’s really in a very cheesy romance novel. Every. Single. Time.

This happens so often and the result is so consistent he packs up his villain career and ends up opening a couples therapy/escape room challenge. Patents the idea and retires a happy former Villain.

So let me see if I have this correct…

Scratch created the program to keep terminally ill people’s minds active. (whether or not that keeps their minds active after mortal death remains to be seen.)

-Scratch had a brain tumor.

Kinger and scratched worked on the program, creating Cain until Cain got too smart(relatively) and figured out how to take control of the circus. Abstracting the first and only person who could easily take him out.

-Kinger slowly goes crazy directly because of Caine

The program then expanded to people with mental health issues. Whether they wanted to be uploaded into program or not.

- Ragatha and Gangle tried to commit suicide and get uploaded

- Zooble had some sort of body dysmorphia and also gets uploaded for some reason (idk)

- I think Pomni actually had some sort of bad accident and that’s part of the reason why she’s such an outlier, even within the group dynamic.

All that leaves is Jax.

“what, do you have someone waiting for you on the outside?”

“Ya, don’t you?”

 I think Jax also has a terminal illness and subconsciously knows he has nothing to go back to. That’s also why he was so close with the last batch of people who extracted. Like Ribbit. They were the final group of terminally ill people they let into the circus before they cut the program off.

That’s just my take though.
