Okay so here’s the thing

I know this has been said and resaid and resaid again but here I am, saying it, because it’s important.

Reblog.

If you enjoy a fic or a piece of art or an edit, etc. enough to leave a like, reblog it.

The picture above shows the notes on my most popular fic, and there are almost exactly 3 times the amount of likes to reblogs. Some people’s stats are even more skewed!

I am incredibly lucky to even have 300 notes on this fic, but other people aren’t. Small creators that don’t have a massive audience have absolutely no way to spread their work except for reblogs.

I have oneshots/fics up that have less than 50 notes because I posted them and got some likes and that was it. And that’s the reality! I could reblog them myself, hope that more people see them on my blog, tag them with more things, but for creators with a small following they’re just yelling into the void! Self-reblogging won’t help those people. Unless other people reblog their work, unless more people see it than the few that follow them, they will never be able to gain the following needed to easily share that work.

And that’s heartbreaking! Small creators work just as hard as large ones to make these pieces, but they have to work 10 times harder to get the recognition for it.

So please, reblog fics, art, edits, jokes, everything!

If you like something, reblog it.

It literally does nothing but help.
