"Thank you, that really means a lot to me." Barrel told him with a smile. The fact that Amon didn't push him away when he hugged him briefly also meant a lot. He could tell the other had changed a bit since they first met. Once he had pulled away and wiped his tears away, he sniffled and nodded. "A little bit."
When Amon told Barrel he wasn't worthless, he managed a small smile, through teary eyes, still sniffling a little. "You really mean that?" He asked, tilting his head. "Yeah, maybe so. Maybe she just had to go away for a while and will come back." He seemed a bit more hopeful. As Amon told him he was there for him and that he could try the friend thing, that honestly made Barrel feel so much better. He had lived as Amon's roommate for probably about a year, and he was elated at seeing the other's caring through his actions, even if he didn't vocalize it. His smile grew a little bit more. "Thanks Amon. You are a good friend," he assured him, leaning forward to hug his neck briefly before sitting back and wiping away the rest of the tears.
Barrel heard someone approaching, and the familiar voice of his idol and former roommate, Amon. He quickly wiped at his eyes to try and wipe away the tears as he looked up at the other man. "I wasn't telling you to shut up, I was...I was talking to my head... My mom's voice talks to me in there sometimes. She said I'm worthless and nobody could love me." He replied softly, his chin still resting on his knees. "Maybe she's right 'cause the first girl that I thought loved me is gone now. She left without a word and I don't know...I feel lost cause she was one of my best friends, too." He explained when Amon asked, trying to hold back his tears in front of the other. He didn't want the person he idolized to see him at such a low place and think he was weak. He appreciated the fact that the other was trying though, that meant a lot to him.
Barrel shuffled along through the garden, hands in his pockets. His girlfriend and best friend was gone now, and he didn’t know where, why, or how to function without her. The voice inside his head had been telling him awful things and he just wanted to talk to her, but he also wanted to be alone. He curled up into a ball in between some of the bushes, burying his face in his knees and starting to sob softly, rocking back and forth, as the voice in his head assaulted him with awful thoughts.
It’s your fault everyone leaves.You’re worthless. Who could ever really love someone like you?
“No...no no no...stop it! Shut up!” he cried to the voice, his hands over his ears as if it would actually shut out the voice in his head.
Jefferson sat with his feet against the wall, facing away from rest of the hallway and thus anyone who happened to walk by. Unable to control his emotions, Jefferson let out a loud sob, stifling it quickly as the tears continued. Without comfort, the man quietly sobbed wanting nothing more than to just disappear.
Barrel was skipping off toward his room with a bag full of cookies for Amon, who he still thought he had to make an offering for regularly for the sake of the crops he didn't even have, when he heard the sound of a sob coming from somewhere around the corner. He stopped skipping and turned the corner to see the source of the noise, a man sitting on the floor sobbing. He slowly walked over and tilted his head at the other, concern crossing his features, and sat down next to him. He bit down on his bottom lip for a moment before he opened the bag and took out a cookie, holding it out to offer to the other. "Here, chocolate helps sometimes," he said softly.
I do say so! What’s your occupation? Are you a spy?
Vanellope arched a brow at his whisper. “Tuxedo what now?” She asked with a grin.
Barrel’s cheeks flushed a bit, not realizing he had said it aloud. “Uhm...Tuxedo Barrel. I sometimes have dreams where I run around as Tuxedo Mask, but I call myself that instead.”
Am too! I’m what some people might call a love doctor! I’m also a time lord! And a ninja turtle!
Vanellope blushed a bit at his comment about her being a pretty sylveon before something at another stand caught her eye. “Look!” She grabbed Barrel and turned him to face the stand she was looking at across the way. The stand had a bunch of sailor moon stuff including a few costumes, some t-shirts, and figurines.
Barrel resolved to himself that he would come back for the onesie later, while Vanellope was distracted by something else, and buy it for her. As she spun him around, he looked for what she was talking about and gasped. “Pretty!” he exclaimed as he looked over the sailor moon merchandise rack and found a tuxedo mask cape and hat and stared in awe. “Tuxedo Barrel...” he whispered.

Dr. Barrel has returned. What do you need, child?
Barrel thought for a moment. "What if we offer food or sweet stuff to lure people in? Maybe me and Vanellope could make some candy or something like that for you? I can bring some of my friends, too! Eventually, word will get around and this will be the place where everyone will want to be!"
"Well, some probably do, but Dr. Sheer told me one of the points of being in a therapeutic environment is to get people to socialize and learn how to work well with others," Barrel pointed out with a shrug. "But it's not like for any kind of grade or anything here, just for the purpose of working together to create something beautiful!"
Barrel nodded, thinking about his own story and how he really wouldn't want to relive that part of his life, even briefly. "That's a really good idea!" He agreed with a smile. "And what if sometimes you did group projects to bring them together to work as a group? You could assign them each a portion of one of those big pieces of canvas material and give them a reference picture to recreate together!"
"Yay!" Barrel grinned excitedly and scooted his chair up next to hers, thinking about her question for a moment before answering. "Um... Well, I really like stories! And I think lots of people can relate to something a lot more easily if you can make it about them, so maybe you could teach people how to tell their own stories through their art?"
Barrel had washed off as much of the paint as he could, but his skin still had a purplish tint to it as he went to sit in a chair closer to her. "I don't think art is boring at all! Can I help?" He asked, tilting his head at her hopefully.
Barrel smiled and went over to where a paint-flecked sink was against the wall and started scrubbing soap over his arms to get the paint off, which wasn't really makin any difference. "Oooh, that sounds like fun!" He said brightly. "I've been pretty good, can't really complain at least! How about you?"
