Barricades 2026 starts TOMORROW, Friday July 24th!

Registration not only buys access to the convention, but to all the recorded panels from the weekend for a two-week period after the con. Tickets will no longer be available via the website once the convention starts , so if you've been putting off registration, get those tickets today!

BarricadesCon is MERE DAYS AWAY and I'm hosting a panel about drawing the Amis as part of it!

Grab a pencil and a piece of paper and join me in the absolute whirlwind of information that is me trying to explain what I think about when I sit down to draw these punks.

By the end of the session you will hopefully end up with 3 or 4 basic Amis busts designed by you! And the skills to approach making future designs you might one day want to add to the big beatutiful world of Les Mis fanart.

Below are drawings I made to illustrate a point I talk about, but they arent on the screen for long (apologies in advance for how fast I talk when I'm excited!) so sharing here!

For those who were interested by my recent announcement of the publication of my book on Les Mis locations in Paris, you may be interested to know that I will be speaking about my research for the book at Barricades 2026, a global virtual convention, dedicated to Les Mis in all its forms, which this year will take place on 24-26 July. My session will be at 3.00 UTC on 26 July, and the full programme is now available at

There is a £12 registration fee, and registration ends on 24 July. For those who sign up, recorded sessions are available online for a fortnight after the convention ends.

Between research, puppet construction, recording the audio, filming the video, and editing the final project, I can't tell you how many hours have gone into this...please register for Barricades Con to see the whole thing. If you can't make it to the premier, you will still have access to the video (and SO much more) if you register for the con.

There will indeed be recordings of many of the panels! Some panels, especially social events, won't be recordable , but you'll be able to catch up with much of the con!
