She laughed as well once he explained what had happened, unable to completely mask the smirk that appeared now. “Ah, gotcha. Guess he learned his lesson though, huh?” She replied. Her smirk widened some. “In that case, we’re kind of in the same boat there. It’s been more than six months since I was introduced to… well,” And now she motioned around, clearly referring to the supernatural, “… But it still throws me off most days.” She explained. “I’m Talia, by the way.”
She had taken to studying him, curious about him herself. His remark about still getting used to the crazy pointed her more towards human, naturally. She wondered how interesting of a tale that would be, how he’d managed to get mixed up with the supes, as she’d taken to calling them. Her smile returned, and now she nodded again at him. “You know, I was thinking that same thing myself not five minutes ago. I am digging the place so far.” She stated as she glanced around, taking in the interior. When she looked back over at him, she furrowed her brows. “So you’re not… I mean, you’re human, right? How’d you end up here?”
Her expression altered, and now she looked a little puzzled, maybe even awed. “Wow. Okay, that’s new, yeah.” She finally grinned, shrugging. “Okay, let’s see… Lazy Magnolia’s Southern Pecan ale? If not, I’ll take a Corona.” She chose, opting for something a little harder to usually find to test the bar’s capabilities.
He grinned back at her. "Here's hoping he did. Kylie ain't too friendly with repeat offenders." Indeed, she was prone to throwing them out of the bar. Occasionally through a window. But yeah. "Man, so we're both newbies. I know that feeling. Hope we get used to it eventually, all things considered. Not that we don't have all the time in the world to. And I'm Eddie; nice to meet you, Talia."
He laughed again -- God, was it nice talking to someone relatively normal. "Yeah, place is pretty awesome. I'm starting to think it's, like, magic or something, but that just adds to the atmosphere." He motioned around. "Not that the atmosphere needs adding to." Her questions about his humanity made him smile, and he shook his head. "Yeah, I'm 100% human. Lucky me. My girlfriend works here part-time as a bouncer, and when her brother cost me my old job, she got me hired here." He rolled his eyes. And it sounded so normal when he said it like that. "'Course, it's my girlfriend who ain't human, but hey."
He winked at her. "One moment, please." With that, he disappeared into the back for a few minutes, coming back out with a bottle of the requested liquor. "Ta-daaaaa." He said, placing it on the bar with a flourish. "Told you this place literally has everything. Lemme pour you a glass." He turned, grabbing a glass to fix his new friend a drink.
