am i really not enough?
why am I not enough?
because if you would ask me, you are more than enough for me.
and it kills me that you don't feel that.
how important you are to me.
did you really love me?

Some songs just understand us better than people do. And tonight, this one speaks for me.
The Virgin Suicides (1991)
There is an ocean of silence between us… and I am drowning in it. ― Ranata Suzuki
The silence between us is not empty. It is full of all the words we're too afraid to say, and I am choking on them.
I hope you know how much I love you. I don’t think I’ve ever said it the way you truly deserved to hear it — not with all the depth, not with all the weight it carries. But I do. I love you with everything I have.
I would give anything just to have another chance to be with you. Not to go back and change the past — just to stand beside you again, this time with more courage, more clarity, and more love.
Some days, that hope is the only thing keeping me going. And even if you never come back, I hope a part of you knows… you were everything to me.
I should’ve talked to you that night. I should’ve said what I was feeling — how badly I wanted you. Maybe then, this wouldn’t hurt so much. Maybe I could’ve changed your mind, even just a little.
But the words got stuck. My tongue froze, and my mind was too loud to let anything out. A thousand things I wanted to say — but fear told me to stay quiet. I was scared I’d ruin the night, scared that honesty might break whatever was left between us.
So instead, I let my eyes speak. I looked at you with all the longing I had, while you sang like nothing was breaking — but every note you sang pierced right through my heart.
I wonder if you saw it. If you knew what I couldn’t say. If you felt the silence the way I did.
Do you still love me? I keep asking that in the quiet moments — not really expecting an answer, but hoping the universe will whisper something back.
Maybe I’ve been trying to find reasons to hate you, just to make the weight of missing you easier to carry. But I can’t. You were so good to me. And I… I was too stubborn, too caught up in myself to see it clearly.
These days, I fill my time with anything that makes me forget — music, distractions, noise — but when night falls and I’m finally alone, I still curl up in bed and cry like a child.
It’s the silence that hurts the most. It’s the memories that sneak in when the world goes quiet.
Every time I scroll through my phone, there you are — not physically, but in everything. A song, a quote, a photo, a version of us I still wish existed.
Maybe what we really need is time. But if I’m honest, I don’t know if time will bring us back together or only teach me how to live without you.
I have no one to blame but myself. I could have loved you better. I should have shown you more of how much you meant to me. Maybe I could’ve endured a little more of this world’s unfairness… if it meant keeping you by my side.
Mary Oliver, from "Porcupine" in Devotions: Selected Poems
I don’t know but I hope - and thus I act.

11 October 1942 Letters to Véra by Vladimir Nabokov
She’s gone quiet. No replies. No words. Just silence. And I’m left here wondering… Did I push too hard? Did I ask for too much of her heart when she was already slipping away from mine?
Still, somewhere deep in me — in that quiet place just before sleep, I hope. I hope she comes back. I tell myself I’ll be better if she does. I’ll love her softer. I’ll listen more. I’ll hold her the way she always needed. I’d give anything just to try again.
But why does it look so easy for her? How can she walk away when I’m barely holding it together? I feel like I’m drowning in the weight of everything unsaid, while she’s out there breathing freely.
What do I do with all this love now? Where do I put it, if not in her hands?
I don’t want to chase her away, but doing nothing… hurts just the same.
God, why does letting go feel like tearing out pieces of yourself?
I’m trying to be strong. But tonight, I just want to stop pretending I’m okay. Because I’m not. I’m hurting. And I don’t know how to stop.
