In the official art book, there’s a banner for the castle level we can see more clearly.

Theories ranges from just decoration to the possible insignia for the castle, royal family, or the kingdom as a whole.

If it an insignia, it makes sense why it would be a flower. Normally insignia is associated with an animal, lions, eagles, horses, even dragons and griffins (though it not always the case). However in a forest where everything wants to kill you and some of them are very vocal about it, having an “animal” it represents you might be a bad look.
