Cold air, hot destination, revving engines, and all in-between.

Besides the skittering of strange cones or tires, it's almost silent.
Flesh stained a lot of the area.
Listen close.
Faintly hear the rumbles of a car engine.
...More than one car engine.
Picking up a flamethrower, what seemed to have been a good idea after avoiding all the freaky creatures down here, seems to have awakened something much, much worse.
You don't know how, or why, but you know this thing is coming for you.
A ringleader of some sorts, it'll take you down with it.
The only options you have is what you do about it.
OOC under cut
oh no,,,,, addiction strikes again /SILLY
this isn't JUST hellride mind you. You can question EVERYYBODDYYYYY..... however if you do a general question that isn't really directed at any of them specifically it'll probably go to hellride.

Something drags itself into the parking garage from the outside. Something huge, judging by the sound it makes as it does alone, every misshapen limb making a loud thud as it comes into contact with the ground.
You can smell it before you see it - it smells of blood and... Saltwater? That's odd. You're not anywhere near the sea...
( @k1ll3r-w41l )
The scent of blood would attract any beast around these parts. Down here, that means injury. Injury means weakness. And weakness means a quick meal. To the most of them, at least. Yes, the saltiness mixed in with it was odd, but it's certainly caught attentions.
Two attentions. A clawed pitter-clacking that seemed cautious in nature, and an eager, piercing noise of sirens, accompanied by red and blue flashing. It cut the first noise, the first creature, off. Clearly, somebody wanted to make sure it could get the first bite. Sounded big. Sounded mechanical. Like a car.
...oh. Yeah. That- that sure is a car. Moving and everything. Clearly the source of the sirens and lights, too. Mechanical seems a bit inaccurate though, considering half of the thing was, in fact, organic.
Thankfully, it didn't seem to be barreling head-first into the unknown. It was drifting at a more curious pace. Didn't mean its hands still held tight its weapons, but at least there won't be any more crashes.
[The thudding and scraping seemed to be getting closer, the sound almost rhythmic as it slowly got louder and louder, accompanied by... Clicking?]
[Not mechanical clicking, either - it sounded more like a whale or orca...]
[Eventually, the huge shape came into view, seemingly an almost shapeless blob with many long tendrils in the darkness, illuminated only by dozens of blue, glowing freckles lining its enormous body. It stopped moving for a little while, though it continued to click, the sound reverberating in the huge, ambient parking garage.]
[With a low rumble, it eventually continued its slow, but steady crawl, seemingly heading in the direction of the sewers...]
Hmmm. Certainly not something they saw every day. Add it to the list, it supposed. The officer's face furrowed, seemingly annoyed that the thing was unfazed by its presence. Even with the lights, sound- even the dogs started barking and growling! Was that not enough? As if matching it, the cop car paused for a few seconds or so, before continuing at a faster speed.
And, just in-case, they raised a gun-
-Bang! Not actually hitting anything, of course- with how close it was getting, there's no way it couldn't have decent aim- but still demanding to be addressed. Does this guy ever NOT cause problems? Look for a fight? It's gotten down how to be pretty dang obnoxious, that's for sure.
[The creature lifted its head to look Cop Car in the eyes - revealing a cavernous, toothy maw that seemed to extend further along the length of its body, almost as if it was unsuccessfully split in half. But judging by the red stains on its many, MANY steak knife-like teeth, the blood the denizens of the garage were able to smell most likely belonged to its previous meal...]
[The creature emitted a loud, grumbling bellow, its unblinking eyes fixed on the car's "driver". It sounded less like a threat and more like a warning. A "get out of my way" of sorts.]
Hmmmm. Despite all the warning signs, yeah, it could work with this. Obviously, it's not gonna back off without some convincing. Never have, never will! It'll take more than a warning to scare it off. It hisses at the creature, somehow being heard over the canine vocalizations from right under themself.
It was going to perhaps lunge, or maybe fire some more bullets, but it felt a lurch over its whole body and a weight on the roof of the car. And a suspiciously windshield wiper-shaped object batting at its head, too. That. That's an important detail.
On the plus side, while the cop car was fighting off that damn half-living, half-dead piece of animal matter, the car (maybe the dogs instead?) backed up a bit. Perhaps to shake the roadkill off, or perhaps it decided a 2v1 wasn't the best circumstance, but. There's more of an opening for the aquatic fellow, ay? Was that the little guy's intention??
[The creature did not move for a while, observing the other two cursed. The way was still very much blocked, and there was only so much it could squeeze through... Oh well. Perhaps it's time to actually try and scare them off...]
[The sheet volume of the scream causes it to bounce off the walls of the parking garage. Quite a quick way to make your presence known to anything and everything dwelling in the dark...]
A half-bitten scream comes from the weaker of the two. It was easier to tumble off the side of the other than one would think, huh? Ah, well. Roadkill doesn't have the best balance, give it a break. Still, so much for being helpful...
The officer. Did not like that. Well- obviously, but something about these kinds of real loud sounds... so!
[Cop Car fires a single pistol shot!]
Retaliation was a given. It would've just sicced the K-9s on 'em, but, it wanted to be quick this time. Give it little time to react.
[The beast recoiled, the shot landing somewhere around its shoulder. Well, one of its many shoulders. Unable to close its mouth enough to hiss in pain, as they it would've otherwise done, it let out something between a gurgle and a grunt.]
[It backed away, slowly... Then charged!]
[With it fully in view, you could see its true size - though not by much, it surpassed the cop car in both length and height, tentacles grabbing onto the concrete support pillars of the parking garage to propel itself forward and tossing aside the other, non-sentient cars as if they were mere toys.]
[Though it had a now obvious weakness, it was still big, pissed off, and currently barrelling towards the cop car at an alarming speed.]
Was it prepared for this? UHM. Maybe? It's fought the Hellride before and came out alive, how hard could THIS be??!?!! Right??
One half of its ability to walk not really being their own had its advantages, at times. Like now. Sharper turns, faster reaction time. At the cost of being disorganized- take what you can get and all that. Its current plan was to swerve out of the way (almost running over a panicking Roadkill), and then attack back.
[Cop Car uses Reckless Driving!]
Fuuuuuckkkkk- STOP FUMBLING WITH THEIR DAMN WEAPONS.
[The Kraken was stopped in its tracks again, the shotgun blast dealing considerably more damage, wounding the beast further as a whole chunk of one of it's tentacles was blown off by the blast. As if it wasn't already leaving a trail of blood in its wake...]
[Almost immediately, however, it charged again, picking up speed as it barrelled....
...Completely past the Cop Car, heading further into the garage, dead-set on its route to the sewers.]
[Wait. Huh??]
[It was... Escaping. Or, at least, trying to, only to be stopped by a door that was maybe a third of its height.]
[The beast backed up, then slammed head-first into the doorway again, desperately trying to squeeze through as its guttural calls grew louder and more frequent. It didn't seem angry, just... Frustrated.]
[It kept trying to fit through, but to no avail, until it seemingly out of frustration, opted to slam its own head into a wall instead - obviously, to no effect. If it wasn't a giant monster, it'd be almost a little pathetic...]
[Reeling from the self-inflicted impact, it made one last attempt to fit through the door... And finally, at the cost of the doorframe and a bit of the wall itself, it dragged itself onto the other side. There was another call, a loud splash as it entered the water, then... Nothing.]
The officer glances to the currently-hidden-behind-some-non-damaged-cars Roadkill. No idea how to even react to that. They feel a little offended, if nothing else- IT strolls on in here, into its territory, then acts like it WASN'T the issue? Urrrghh. SWAT's gonna kill them for this. Figuratively, potentially a little literally, so maybe it's time to tend to its wounds now.
And. Roadkill's wounds. Maybe. Didn't want the Biker getting on its back too... actually, no, scratch that thought. It was just as responsible here, pulling that random stunt on it! Screw all of you.

swat truck can i hide behind you i'll be real quiet i promise :(
...it stares at you. Nnn. No. What. There are perfectly good and big enough cars right next to it. Please no.??? It doesn't have eyes back there (or... front there, supposedly). Doesn't like not knowing what things are doing behind it.
Hellriiiiiiiiiiiiide..........???? Are you the person I should talk to about whatever the heck is happening to Roadkill right now or no.......?????
No. It doesn't know how to feel about that. It saw Roadkill as a creature that had a fresh start. Absolved of the sin in its past life. Was this a sign of relapse, or had it simply been too ignorant.
I'm like. trying to take my mind off of stuff rn so here's that fic I was working on. I introduce:
Tales From the Basement Depths
basically just the very early days of the parking garage critters? it feels like the pacing is a liiiiiittle odd to me for this first part but whateverrrr
^ which, this fic is being split up into parts. all that really happens between parts are POV changes and varying amount of timeskipping/overlapping POVs (if that makes sense)
whatever go my beasts. uhhhh no beta read fuck it we ball uhhhh gore body horror warning across the whole fic
They always say that you're not you when you're hungry, right? Something like that. They don't quite remember where they heard the phrase from. Maybe some sort of candy? Sugar?? Whatever- the point is, it's... very much applying here, that's for sure.
And, huh, it never knew just how good human flesh tasted, y'know? After mauling a random guy with your, what, 15 dogs, you come to appreciate it! For the most part. They feel pretty dazed right now.
There's a lot of brain fog in their head. And, despite that, their wheels and paws ran wild, leaving their mind in the dust. They remember... the sky... everybody was looking at the sky for a moment. One big moment. And then everything just kinda... started happening. Lots of chaos. Lots of murder. Lots of biting and clawing. Lots of crime...
...and it's great.
For some reason, they've never felt more alive. In the moment. Like something finally clicking into place after so long. Finally being able to let loose. They're giggling- no, cackling, and spraying bullets like there was no tomorrow. Was there going to be a tomorrow? Who knows! But, holy fuck, this is how it feels to thrive. They're scatterbrained, but thriving. Loosing touch, but thriving!
Mnnh... they taste meat on their tongue again. Blink. Oh, yeah. Eating someone again. Digging right into some poor soul's heart, straight from the source. Nice. The fork at the end of their new tongue flicks out to lick away the splatters of blood on its face. Didn't do much to clean themself, being soaked in a red hue, but it still tastes good.
They don't know how much time has passed already. It's felt like minutes, but they get the feeling it's been longer. They feel... welded to the car. One with the car. Their police car. The car they own, of course. Yeah. It's theirs. All theirs. And the dogs.
...the dogs. They're practically piloting both the car and them now. Steering with their feet.
No. They can't have that. This car is theirs. This body is theirs. They should be the one steering. Focus. Grrggh...
Their hands suddenly slam onto the hood in-front of them and... hm, they don't remember having more than two arms, but, whatever. Another hand shoots up to their mouth and- after a cough- whistles. Works well enough. Managed to get them to stop, at least.
The car skirted to a stop just in time to miss colliding with another vehicle. A much bigger vehicle. They can't fight that. They just hope it didn't notiiiiiii
iiiiiiiiioh.
Oh, it noticed all right.
The vehicle backed up- a truck, or something as they glance up to meet its two big eyes and slightly ajar doors. Those eyes looked panicked. Confused. If they could catch it off-guard, maybe, they'd have a chance. But, with the canines of theirs barking and snarling, they doubt they can get the jump on this thing...
...they had to look upwards to meet its eyes.
One glance too far, and...
...and...
...
...euhgh...
They're zoning out again... they're vulnerable. They're making themself vulnerable. Stop that.
Blink, blink.
A jump backwards, from themself. A bumpy and malformed hand gripped one of their hands, one that pulsed with bright blue veins.
A face. One that was grinning wildly. One that was just as covered in blood as them. One with crazy-looking eyes, however you'd describe it. One that seemed more focused than them. Huh. Looking it over, it was something with a lot of. Teeth. When their dogs bit at it, it bit as well. Not even flinching or looking down. Something that had the capacity to fight back. Fun.
The person (?) tugged at their arm, as if egging them on. Tugging like it wasn't counting on them to keep their head out of the clouds. Like it thought they had the same agenda. Did they? Did they even have an agenda in the first place? Looking past them, they only just now notice the truck got closer, and there were two things that looked kinda similar to the person in-front of them right now. One was still, the other was panicking.
...Yeah. Fine. Okay. Just... let go. Let them get their bearings. Enough pulling and it finally let go and backed off. They watch as it gave the truck's... flesh... a good slam, like how you would with a horse. All three of them seemed to be attached to the truck (a police truck, they think). Yeehaw?? Weirdly enough, the truck was... compliant, if but annoyed. Pssh. What a pushover.
After wrangling the dogs into obeying, they, indeed, do follow, the police truck taking the lead. Then almost immediately getting bored of being behind, so. Giddy up, mutts, we're going for a race, apparently! Even though they're not sure where they're going, they'll just figure it out!
Hmmmmm. Ignoring the yelps and honks from behind them, they spot an opening. A building. Garage. Parking garage. That works! They're a little full anyways. Might as well wait out the storm for now. Usually, a car would have trouble driving across the changing, pulsing terrain, but one half of them isn't exactly driving, more so running... and they love a challenge anyways!
The contrast between the bright lights of the outside and the dim lighting of the garage was a bit jarring. Whatever. They glance back at the entrance. Could still see the truck. Good! Y'know, they were thinking of fighting it earlier, but now, maybe they could use an ally. A very big, strong ally, with lackeys, too! And it's on-theme! Could it really ask for anything more? As long as it doesn't pick any fights first, that is...
Quick question, was reckless driving a crime? Ah, they forget. Ironic. They're not afraid of being a hypocrite, though they might as well refrain from blindly running into a wall and look back where they're going...
Oh, hey, that's a guy-
THUMP.
...Mhm. Bye. Didn't even get a chance to eat them, either. Just hit 'n run. Now THAT'S a crime.
Ah, hey, that's a wall! The exact thing they were trying to avoid! Back up. Back up. Get the dogs to stop. Okay, there we go.
...Hm... yeah, they got that guy good. They can go pretty fast, can't they. That's the thing about police cruisers. Even then, it looks... a little weird...
...oh well! If that guy saw what was out there or not, they're probably already dead. The truck was honking for them anyways. Had to pull off a frankly excruciating turn to face it and its weird three little guys. They would've eaten the guy, but, again, full, and... admittedly, they were kinda loosing steam here. Could've sworn they were full of energy just before.
Blink, blink. Huh, this thing actually looks pretty weird. What happened to it. Why is it like that. Are those guys its tongues? Hhhuuuh.
The 'tongue' from before approached them again... more so hovering there, really. Their first instinct was to hiss at it, and that's what they did, but that didn't stop it from... poking them. Right on the forehead. No. No thanks, actually. Again, on impulse, their teeth snapped at their fingers. Got it to put away their arm in a second. Instead of looking offended or put off, it just... laughed and flicked between their eyes before very quickly retreating to the mouth of its truck. It laughed. At them. Hmph!
Well. Whatever, it couldn't care less. They didn't have the stamina to pick fights right now, not anymore, feeling them beginning to slow down after going on those long runs. What they did care about? The nagging, annoying things they couldn't block out. Where was that crying coming from. It sounded close, uh- oh, right. The other tongues. They seemed to be hiding. With their position, living in a giant mouth now, they might as well use it to their advantage. Had they been doing that the whole time? Boo-hoo. People get over it. They did pretty quickly, right? They can too. It's not like they're getting mauled.
Ah, they are... they aren't stopping. Could maybe hear a few words between the sobs? Okay. Uh. They're not good at this kinda stuff. Uhm. If they started leaving, would they notice. Even the middle tongue looked over at his direction, c'mon.
The... god, they need to think of names for these guys- the one with the helmet, the one that wasn't doing anything until now, they spotted was trying to close the truck doors. One door, at least. Don't know if it saw them squinting at it.
Both them and the truck reversed at the same time, like the both knew how awkward it was very obviously becoming. Uuurgghhh. Whatever, the truck can deal with its... triplets, they suppose. Leave them out of it. Or, uh. Out of most of it.
Watching its eyes, making sure it saw, they waved their hand dismissively and turned their head. Thinking about claiming a parking spot in advance. Conveniently, there was a gap in the line of cars just nearby on their right.
Just ignore the happenings with those guys. Who cares if they scratch and dent the cars next to them while trying to park. Who cares if the truck didn't have the same idea and seemed to be scouting out the garage. Probably a good idea in retrospect, but they've been getting steadily more and more exhausted and they needed, like, a moment.
Who cares if the truck seemed to get stopped, caught off-guard by the corpse they were 100% sure they killed. They'll deal with it later. Shit happens.
Their body kinda melts into the metal they were set on. It's weirdly comfortable. Ignoring the commotion.
...okay, maybe they'll get one more peek before taking their leave.
...
The body got up.
Their eyes blink, bleary, catching just the right moment to see the truck run it over a second time. Smart move on its part. The thing looked gnarly. Don't want it prowling around. If it could even survive long enough to...
...mmgh. Alright, show's over. They... can really only describe just... disappearing into the car as... that. Just going away. It's really similar to just closing their eyes and going to sleep, or something. It's weirdly natural. They felt the car finally settling down. Must've been the dogs. Noticing them leaving and following suit. Canine see, canine do. Simple enough.
Their mind slips faster than they thought it would. Sigh. Just hope nothing big happens while they're out. Didn't wanna miss out on all the fun, of course...
