HIATUS!!!

This blog, as well as The Baseplate project as a whole, is on a official hiatus that will be lasting... a while. Note that my silly little goobers and plans to make a full game for them are not being abandoned, but I'm taking a step back because I can't really make a game without the scripting knowledge. So I'm working on something else, as sort of a learning tool and Lua scripting practice! Will update abt it on my main (@kirosuhhidk) when there's actually progress and some playable content in there. Prolly won't be for a bit though.

i need to make it very very clear before i start dropping more major lore that any characters who do bad things but have backstories that explain why they do bad things AREN'T GOING TO BE MAGICALLY PORTRAYED AS GOOD. Im NOT going to be one of those people who says a character isn't in the wrong just cause of a traumatic backstory.

uh uhhh uhhh Xaeph likes red and black, Gobee likes neon colors, Vydalis likes every shade of green (particularly duller/darker ones), Kae likes off-whites and orange, Hollith likes blue!! sconderth loves orange and gold :3 Xrylla doesn't have a favorite color anymore. Covorri (covorri mention? rare occurance) likes gray :)))))

Xaeph hates food now. He used to liked smoked, seasoned almonds! Gobee rlly likes sweet stuff and desserts, particularly donuts and cream puffs. Hollith likes dried fruit :] Vydalis LOVES porkchops with a tiny bit of honey drizzled on it!!!!!! Kae likes bread and Sconderth likes lizards

Xaeph enjoys macaroons. Gobee's favorite dessert isnt donuts actually its ice cream!! Vydalis likes cookies :3 Hollith's version of dessert is greek yogurt + granola

Xaeph hates doves. for no reason in particular :) He likes every corvid ever, but especially loves hooded crows!! Vydalis likes butterflies. and tigers. Hollith loves beetles. Gobee likes bees and cats. Kae likes pigeons

yes. that'd be the space between the different baseplates. also bestie one of the characters is a moth, another is a bee, another is an angel, there's someone part plant, there's a dragon, like. nothing is "alien" to them, even if they did exist. Only thing considered alien would be the gods.

Xaeph loves fantasy and sci-fi!! Gobee also likes fantasy :3 Hollith likes science-fiction and non-fiction! Vydalis reads a mix of everything. Kae just actually reads everything. Sconderth does not read she's too busy for that

Xaeph would create a personal hell for Base and like one other person from his life, Gobee would greenify the Spawn City a significant amount cause pollution hits HARDDDDDD there. Vydalis would just force people to listen to hour long yap sessions about plants and gardening tbh. Hollith would gather a team of royal scientists and rule the world in a more oligarchical way (with the royal scientists holding the power, only second to Hollith), and he'd just experiment a lot with laws and... a little on people too... yeah uh yeah. Kae would put 24/7 guards on all historical artifacts. Sconderth wouldn't hesitate for a single second to just hand the power off to someone else and live in a cottage away from everyone

Xaeph would swap bodies with Base to torment them. Hollith would switch bodies with his brother i think. Vydalis wouldn't wanna switch but if she HAD to she'd switch with Gobee. Gobee would wanna switch with Xaeph for. not family friendly reasons. that i will not explain. Kae would wanna swap with Hollith

They do have constellations but most constellations have a weird habit of changing between a few shapes, which does lead to their equivalent of astrology ppl to basically interpret the shifting stars as prophecies or stories from ancient ancestors n stuff.

for THIS specific baseplate they have 2. just for funsies. Base thought it'd be cool so they stole one from another baseplate.

"They aren't worth my time. Gobee is... Kind of weird around me..? Gets all nervous. Although I guess that's to be expected, I am an angel. I don't care for Hollith at all, but his friend Vydalis? She's got some skeletons in her closet, is all I'm saying. But no, she isn't fond of me. The feeling is mutual."

"Ugh, yes... It's such a chore, especially when Base won't hop off my back about whatever the hell they're having me doing that day. As for the headwings, I technically don't have to as often, but it's better to just get it done."

Vydalis would like Rises the Moon by Liana Flores, Kae is a Clair De Lune enjoyer, Xaeph would prolly like Punk Tactics actually and not even i know why, Gobee likes I Deserve This by Rebyzzx and Rot For Clout by Jamie Paige (im not projecting wdym).

dear god that's a terrible idea never suggest that ever again /silly. ok but real talk most of them would have a full on war with each other, meanwhile Gobee and Hollith are just sitting in the corner yapping about random things while Kae is documenting the fighting (PHIGHTING?!?!?!?)

Toby and Morthite. The former was made by... That guy (ik that you know) And the latter just got scrapped cause im no longer in contact with her creator and i didnt just wanna. yoink their oc. There are some others who could possibly get scrapped but aren't officially scrapped yet

Vydalis hangs out with her friends or just listens to music in her room, Gobee spends nearly all his freetime with friends if possible (if not, he fidgets with stuff in his room), Hollith spends time at the library (not necessarily to read) and tinkers with his inventions, and Xaeph just spys on people 🥀Kae reads

Gobee works part-time at a daycare! Hollith is a self-employed engineer, Vydalis runs an exotic plant shop primarily comprised of carnivorous plants, Xaeph is a disciple of... a certain someone, Kae works at a library :3

no but Hollith would probably have a significantly more minor version of Forsaken Noli's voice glitching and Kae uhh.. idk for some reason i kinda imagine him with Medkit's Phandub voice (voiced by the goat Key After Key)

Hollith has fur but its pretty much only visible when its puffed up like an angry cat's.

Xaeph's moves would have names centering on divinity. Gobee would 100% have a move called "The Power of Friendship", and i'll be honest i got nothing for the others im SORYRYY... dies

Hello, dear friend of mine, it is I (your number 1 fan if you have forgotten), ONCE AGAIN, here to ask questions. Due to me being shunned by other askers for my large number of questions, I have decided to trim it down... to 9 questions. FEAR NOT, however!! My questions this time will be FAR BETTER than the last. And if they do not meet thy majesty's standards, you have every right to serve my head on a silver platter at tonight's feast. Allow me to begin!!

Number 1; Are your characters aware of your existence? If so, what is your role in the world (god, friend, ruler, etc.)?

Number 2; Do any of your characters have any disorders and/or medical issues either visible or invisible?

Number 3; Do you have a map of this world or a basic idea of the layout?

Number 4; What would you say each character's aesthetic is/would be if they were truly themself?

Number 5; Building off of the last question, do any of your characters hide who they really are/want to be deep down, whether in looks or personality?

AUAUUAHHGHGHG I LOVE THIS QUESTION. OK SO ITS A LITTLE COMPLICATED BECAUSE TECHNICALLY YEAH THESE CHARACTERS GOT MENTAL DISORDERS IM JUST SCARED TO CANONIZE AFOREMENTIONED MENTAL DISORDERS CAUSE I DONT WANNA MISREPRESENT THEM OR BE DISRESPECTFUL. WITH THAT BEING SAID THO; Vydalis is mostly blind (she's lived in the Spawn City for her whole life so she knows her way around, plus the flytraps help), Xaeph PROBABLY has PSTD, Hollith needs glasses (obviously), but they double as prescription glasses and sunglasses because his eyes are little sensitive to light (also he has abandonment issues), Kae also needs glasses, and overall there's a good chunk of characters with immense anxiety and/or paranoia (only like 1 or 2 of them would count as having a disorder relating to those imo)

Xaeph & Vydalis would be cottagecore, Gobee would be scenecore, Hollith would be like. idfk analog horrorcore or smth like that.

Out of the 4 you can ask questions to (as of posting this), all of them would be considered human except Xaeph.
