Wednesday, December 11, 2024, is our last day of placement, and it’s been such an unforgettable journey. Working alongside my fellow coop students has been a privilege, and I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved together.

I’m especially excited to share that 3 of my coop classmates in the LIC have been hired by Porter. It’s inspiring to see their hard work pay off, and it gives hope for all of us as we move forward.

These photos capture not just the end of this chapter but also the friendships, growth, and memories we’ll carry with us. Here’s to new beginnings and the bright future ahead!

Look at the Wednesday shift now it’s totally different! Meeey is here working with me on the evening shift🙂‍↔️ which is amazing. I used to work alone on Wednesdays, so I’m really happy. Also, everything looks so beautiful here the red flowers and the Christmas tree.

September 18-22-2024 I just finished my first week working with Porter, and it was quite the adventure with Belle (besties🫰🏼), Arian, and Leo! It was a great experience, but wow, it was a lot of work. I don't want to scare you, but at one point, I felt like I was aging a bit—by the end of my shift, my back, legs, and mind were all sore! But it’s totally worth it when you get to help passengers, especially when they’re lost or have questions like, “How do I get a boarding pass?” or Where is my boarding gate?” and “What’s the cut-off time for luggage drop-off?” I feel way more prepared to tackle even more questions next shift. Plus, the full-time CSRs were super kind and really helpful when I didn’t know the answers!😊

Hello everyone!🫡

Hi! I’m Basma, currently in my 4th semester at Seneca. I’m excited to share that I’ve just taken my first step in my journey with Porter Airlines as a CSR at Pearson Airport. My co-op placement was on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 8:30 to 12:00, after two days of online training with an awesome team. And if you're wondering if the 4 hours counted toward the 150, the answer is yes! I started my day super early, around 4 AM, to get ready because I was a little nervous. Anyway, I headed to the airport at 5:30, and it took me about two hours to get there. I try to go as early as possible since being early means being on time, being on time is considered late, and being late is simply not acceptable.

When I got there, I met Professor Judy and other co-op students, and we waited for someone to come. That’s when we met Kayana, the supervisor. She was super friendly and kind, and she explained everything clearly also she gave us a warm welcome making us feel comfortable, and was more than happy to answer all our questions.

Overall, the day was a mix of nerves and excitement. Looking back, it still feels strange, like it was all a dream. But I’m happy because I’m gradually making progress in the airline industry! I cannot wait to see where I will be in three years—hopefully enjoying my career and traveling the world with Porter. For now, I am just taking it one step at a time!
