Daddy Lime Green Dress (Martin Van Etten Remix)
Tim O’keefe & James Franco’s Daddy might be in love with the Lime Green Dress, but I’m in love with this glitzy disco Martin van Etten remix.

My Name Is Thunder (OFFICIAL VIDEO) The Bloody Beetroots + JET
Does anyone else miss JET as much as me?! This collab is just what my rock n roll heart needed.
“I've got no roots, but my home was never on the ground” croons singer/songwriter Alice Merton... but she’s been able to root herself on Billboard’s Top Alt charts with this fun tune!
Hey “Mickey’s Monkey” by Mother’s Finest!! About time someone sampled this amazing song from the 70s!

Fall in even DEEPER love with @becadreams in her new single #InDeepLove (oooo those harmonies in the bridge tho....)

@wafiaaa’s irresistibly catchy pop tune provides a creative new lens to view the effects of the Syrian refugee crisis. Press play to support!
I wanted to draw similarities between the large groups of Syrian refugees walking miles to safety and those that can protest freely in the western world. I can’t think of anything more human and simple than reminding ourselves that we are fragile bodies but the strength that can come of bodies in large numbers. We live in a world where so many things are difficult and divisive but I wanted this song to be accessible and inclusive because at the end of the day we all want to be a part of something bigger than us and this is the best way I knew how to portray that. -WAFIA

@xiuxiuforlife-blog @ The Broad’s Summer Happenings
The Broad's Summer Happenings series feels as fresh and avant-garde as they did a full year ago, bringing together oddities and aural innovators in remarkably cohesive fashion. The theme of the evening, Oracle, also the museum's current featured exhibition, sought to shed light on the complex and shifting natures of the world stage and how they impact human behavior and expression. With such a wide range of acts performing throughout the evening, I unfortunately only managed to catch some of the performers, though it did not dampen my evening in the slightest.
The duo of Xiu Xiu blasted their nouveau prog rock from atop the Plaza stage, with no theatrics aside from their own body languages. Through their bombastic and percussive-heavy music, the experimental band highlighted the convergence of genre and style, emphasizing how a blend of influence gives birth to entirely new technique.
High pitched whistles, reverberating synths, towering/wobbly vocals, and plenty of crashing cymbals spilled forth from their two-person orchestra, shattering convention and eardrums alike. Lead singer Jamie Stewart wails with desperation, while his percussionist Angela Seo maintains a cool composure, clearly aware she's the coolest person in the room. But as wild as Xiu Xiu's sound gets, a track like "Ceremony" shows they are capable of a more standard rock song sound, that still retains their weirdness.
Meanwhile the inner halls rang with the sounds of a variety of acts, who all eagerly displayed their own form of identity. Performance artist Keijuan Thomas delivered a sticky, strange display that landed somewhere between fashion show and self-flagellation. Nude save for a glowing red ponytail and sheer face mask, Thomas sauntered throughout the Occulus Hall, getting drenched in glue poured by audience members while binding themselves in yards of duct tape. It behooved audience participation, and actively berated you for failing to do so, playing into the Oracle ideas of absurdity and sense of inaction.
On the top floor, Elliot Reed strutted among the Murakami and Koons pieces in impossibly high heels, describing instances from his life that inspired his music. His guttural throaty voice made for a strange yet compelling dichotomy against his groovy and slightly tropical productions. The booming beats behind him suited the open top floor space, reverberating off the walls to great effect.
Altogether, Oracle continues to prove the Broad knows how to put a show together, and that they possess a great taste in music.
Incredible review by Mick Jacobs

Dave Wesley’s two-track “Laranja Swadhisthana 67_5 - EPv1″ single is based on sacred geometry and is as mysterious and vibey as you would imagine that sounds like.

#ATL crooner @hellobosco drops a new project #b. that’s packed from start to finish with polished #altelectronic & #newwave R&B. First track, “Adrenaline” dives the listener right into Bosco’s high speed world of creative sound, bringing to mind another queen of alternative electronic, Imogen Heap. Funky “Castles” featuring fellow ATLiens St. Beauty, is a nice tribute to the girls’ shared hometown (is there an allusion to Gucci Mane’s “Lemonade” I hear...?). Bosco slows it down towards the end of the album with gems like “Cruel” that are bound to keep you cool (and crazy & sexy too if you’re looking for a TLC type vibe).
