Bucky listened quietly to T’Challa’s words of wisdom. He didn’t speak often and while Bucky preferred silence to conversation most days, he actually perked up a little bit whenever the typically stoic king spoke to him. It felt natural, something that occurred when they first began their nightly chats after his near-death experience. “Before this, I couldn’t remember my sister’s NAME but now I can picture her. I can remember stories, too.” To recall her and his younger brothers was beyond a blessing. T’Challa stopped him from speaking much more on the subject, though, when he offered up a slice of truth that Bucky genuinely hadn’t anticipated. It took him a few moments to bounce back from the knowledge but he did, all the same. “Ukuba ukhathazekile malunga naloo nto, ukwazi nje bendingayi nanini kukunyanzela ukuba wenze nantoni na.” He spoke quickly, mostly to avoid butchering any words by overthinking. Which caused him to switch languages as he added, “Dar nu vreau să te mint. Am sentimente pentru tine, dar e mai mult decât sex.”
as much as he wished to be consistent with that train of thought regarding the past , he had to tell bucky exactly what was ailing him. of course, his progressing feelings weren’t an enigma -- he was well aware how he cared for bucky. but for those visions to come to light -- it only proved that he didn’t have a clue as to how much. “ Croyez-moi, je sais que vous ne me ferez pas pression.” he reassured, switching up his own language. knowing exactly the kind of person bucly is -- confident in their connection to know what he knows. It was his next choice of words that caused the king to fall silent. after a moment passed by , he opened his mouth to speak , eyes lifting to look into his directly. “les sentiments sont les mêmes pour moi, je les héberge depuis un moment maintenant. quelque temps avant la guerre “
