This is a RP blog for Kuronue, from Yu Yu Hakusho!
Kuronue died at the palace, didnt he? Well seems thats just what the ruler of the palace wanted you to think. But Kuro has escaped, and he’s happy to be free.
This is a HC based blog. Please read the rules, and be respectful in Kuro’s inbox. People who ignore the rules get ONE warning, privately if possible.
With a mischievous smile, the vixen held a tray of fruit pies in front of the bat, fluttering her lashes playfully as if she weren't blatantly tempting him with sweets. "If you give me a kiss, I'll give you a pie." Here, she puckered her lips, tail swishing lazily behind her.
"Sure, love!" and, well... maybe that didnt go QUITE as she planned, as the tray was swiped in the blink of an eye, held high out of her reach as the bat gave her a quick smooch on the nose and then gleefully flew up into a tall tree to eat his prize.
The shock of the swiped tray led to crossed arms & a disappointed pout, tail lashing cutely in Rúyì's annoyance at being played. Glaring up at his perch on a branch, her ears flattened back against her head as she voiced her thoughts. “See if I make you anymore pies, then, greedy!”
Sticking her tongue out at the bat like a petulant child, she turned & went inside, her annoyance clearly a show. In truth, it was hard to deny the playful bat these sweet fruit-filled pies. Not only did she enjoy making them, she knew he loved them. It was hard to be mad when someone liked her baking that much. As it was, given his voracious appetite & sweet tooth, he was bound to get a tummy ache later, so she would need to make some tea or a cool drink to wash them down & prepare for the inevitable pampering that would follow.

Admittedly, Kuro could have been nicer about it, but he did trust Ruyi to not hold his sweet tooth over him, and he loved her cooking. So maybe it was also Ruyi's fault for tempting him with so many delicious pies. He would have given her a proper kiss if it had been just one! But no, the bat was currently stuffing his face with sweets, barely hearing Ruyi's huff of annoyance, and ignoring his usual restraint, safe in his tree. He also hated wasting food, having lived in far leaner times, as any child who had to steal to eat knew, and so by the time he was working on the last two slices, he was doing so slowly, even reluctantly, but stil determined to clean his plate. While those who loved him could joke about how hollow he was due to how much he could eat... it seemed the pies were his match, and he had to make a wobbly glide to the ground, hoping for some cool moss to lie in. If he didnt know Ruyi as well as he did, he'd claim she was trying to stuff him to make him an easy target. Instead, the bat suffered the after effects of his sweet tooth with overdramatic groans knowing he was in Ruyi's earshot.

Kuro Hcs
Kuro cooks! Not well, but human standards, but he can put together herbs, spices, and meat to make a nice roast or stew. Pies are... iffy for the bat? Youko mainly has a hearth with a roasting spit and cauldron hook, and while the bat WANTs one of the iron ovens that have magic on them to help make sure nothing burns, he also detests the idea of hauling the heavy thing to the den. Also, pastry is a bit hard, as is not snacking on the fruit and berries he would put in it. Meat pies are easier. The bat learned at his mom's side, before he ended up chased out of his bat colony after too many adventures threatened the safety of everyone. He learned more as he traveled. He'd better! This bat may look like a bean pole, but can eat like he is hollow!
While Youko and Kuronue can go to nearby villages for meals, or find a tavern while out and about, both understandably distrust the safety of such places, and certainly wouldnt trust anyone who would volunteer to make them food.
In this partnership, Youko's main roles is keeping the garden and larder stocked with food, though they share hunting, while Kuro gets to cook or throw things into the pot for later. Youkos role is also to keep the stash of berries and honey safe for later. In a den shared by two thieved, if you want something hidden, prepare for an arms race.

Animal Spirit demons HC
Animal spirits, which include Fox spirits (like Kitsune and Gumiho), Cat spirits (like Nekomata and Bakenek, of which Byakko could be part of), Bat spirits like Kuronue, and bird spirits like Murugu, tend to differ a bit from their animal counterparts.
While you have normal animals like those you find in the human world, they may have some mutations from being in Makai for generations. These differ from a Spirit who has gained some degree of sapience, enough to utilize its powers, speak the local or common tongue. Mere animals might have have special abilities (and you could reference the Fire Rats mentioned in Inuyasha, which are implied to be large rodents that are immune to fire), like mild invisibility or unique poisons, attributes in its fur or blood, or simply be more aligned to elements and use that in its day to day life, but unless they encounter something that pushes enough magic or energy into them to prompt them into Sapience, they will remain a normal animal. The fox and cat species are notable for this, both having abilities to gain sapience and unlock new powers if they survive to an ancient age, and in Makai this is also if there is a spot that teems with energy. Animal Spirits, who tend to gain demonic energy and abilities, tend to be more omnivorous, while still having preferences that echo thier species. More foods open up for them that were previously toxic, and usually only cause mild indigestion if anything. A deer spirit or rabbit spirit will still prefer grains, nuts, and greens over meat, but now can eat such and get nutrition out of it. A carnivore like a fox or wolf can eat more greens, enjoy a more diverse diet, but retain the ability to eat a carcass easily. A spirit can also have more of a chance to gain enough power through personal gain or genetics, to be able to shift form to keep thier true animal shape or a more humanoid appearance. To bring Kuronue into the mix, most species of bats are ones who drink nectar, and a smaller portion hunt insects, while a smaller still eat fruit, frogs, or blood. The Bat folk as a whole vary a lot on what they eat, but meat eating is near universal. As such it is difficult to place the Bat spirit lineage from any set modern bat species. Odds are high, through, that Kuro is roughly descended from nectar or fruit bats, and has a sweet tooth common in his kind. He can eat meat very happily, but may prefer sweeter meats, demons with high sugar in thier diet or a glucose imbalance. But on the whole, this bat will not be looked askance at if he raids the pies from the palace's table during a raid, or the cook's honey jar. Its just how bat species can be. This results in Youko's forest having patches of safe to eat berries, and several fruit trees.
