Does anyone wanna explain to me why I was under the impression that the perks of being a wallflower was going to change my life?? I always hear it quoted and so many people love the book and movie so I decided to give it a shot and I just don’t.. get it. It’s sad, sure, and it’s got realistic depictions of adolescence and mental health and queerness, but it didn’t get through to me emotionally like I had expected it to. I feel like there’s something I’m not getting. Does everyone else also think the hype is undeserved or am I just not getting it ?? All I can call it is mid
