“Flash,” Bruce said, folding his arms over his chest as the others exited the room. He waited until they were the only two left, before continuing with, “I need you to brief me on what I’ve missed.” He crossed the distance between them, coming to a stop a couple steps away from the speedster.
“...You’ve always been...relatively decent at writing...mediocre reports.”

“What is it, exactly, you think you’re going to accomplish?” were the first words to leave Bruce’s lips, at the sight of Damian. If the younger boy, his son, was attempting to prove a point - then he’d done it. That he wouldn’t follow blindly in his father’s instructions - fine. But this? How could his son agree with what Superman was doing - how could Damian not see?
How could a son of his want for something like this?

An old building by way of their new place, for… what? They weren’t even the Justice League anymore, seeing how half of their friends were still parting by Superman’s side. Batman took Dinah out of her thoughts, && she furrowed her brows lightly at him. ( what did he know exactly ?) She was sure she had been cautious && acted the same though. But her own anxiety betrayed her. He knew. He knew something was up.
“I’m… I’m fine. Just… a little overwhelmed by the lastest events I guess.” A reinsuring smile was given, but probably not convincing enough.
Bruce grunted in acknowledgement, turning away from her and instead, to the papers strewn across the desk. He sifted through them, before bringing the sheets together and slipping them into a folder. He let his hand linger on top of the folder for a moment, before returning his gaze to Dinah, eyes narrowed and otherwise, expressionless, under the cowl.
“An understatement, if I’ve ever heard one,” Bruce offered, before continuing to study her expression. “You...can confide in me.”

If he stopped then what? He didn’t have a place he wanted to call home anymore. Home was with Lois. Did he even deserve to live after what he did to her? Clark liked to think the answer was ‘no’ but he could have easily take his own life instead of choosing to live on without her. But the world needed to change and he held the most power to be able to do it. This God complex he was developing felt pretty damn good. Like he was making more of a difference in the world.
“Or what, Bruce?”
“Or we’ll have to stop you ourselves.” His words were dry, now, in an attempt to distance himself. He tried not to take the words as a challenge - though, it felt like one. He found himself taking a step forward, his fists clenching at his sides.
“And you know what I’m capable of.” The world was burning all around them, and all Bruce saw was anger, pain, in Clark’s gaze that reflected an internal ongoing inferno. And he was at a loss of how to stop it, how to tell the other that the battle he was fighting - it was the wrong one. That all he was doing was creating a rift, a rift that perhaps - wouldn’t be able to be fixed.

“Dinah,” Bruce said, as the other’s left, leaving just the two of them within the place they now called headquarters. His voice was softer, unlike the authoritative and harsh it had been earlier. “Are you...” He trailed off, realizing the question itself was futile, useless.
“You didn’t say a thing all meeting,” Bruce said, instead, taking a step forward towards the other.

“It’s not too late to stop this,” Bruce managed through gritted teeth, eyes narrowed as her regarded his former friend. He was well aware that it likely was - Clark had begun a chain reaction could only result in further chaos - but, there was still time, still hope.
There was still a chance - but for that, Bruce needed Clark, and the world needed the Superman that they could trust.
