Newt is so gay for Thomas and this is the evidence i found in Crank Palace (theres probably more that i missed, also I did my best to keep it chronological but it could be out of order):
"His friends. Thomas. Minho. Brenda. Jorge." He lists Thomas before Minho, despite (as far as he remembers) knowing Minho for 2 years longer than he's known Thomas

Makes sense. Stealing a knife from Thomas? If Thomas has a knife and he doesn't, makes sense. Stealing a knife from Thomas to remember him by? Gay. Especially bc he doesn't take anything of Minhos to remember him by
"...he’d gotten used to a post-Thomas, post-WICKED life..." Thomas left as big an impression on him and his life as WICKED did. Adjusting to life without Thomas is as difficult as adjusting to life outside of WICKEDs grasp. Thomas, not Minho. No, living without Thomas, who he'd known for only several months, was a harder adjustment for him to make then living without Minho, who he'd known for over two years and had no memories of ever living without
"And then Tommy entered, right behind him, holding Brenda’s hand like a child." He's mocking Thomas for holding Brenda's hand. Often, mocking is used as a 'safer' feeling to feel then jealousy. Newt is more than likely jealous of Brenda for getting to hold Thomas's hand

He's fully at peace, trusting that Thomas will read the journal and know exactly what Newt was trying to convey

okay, let me get this straight. Newt's world tilted before his eyes, but it was just Thomas falling on his ass?

this guy, Jonesy, had sworn to protect Newt in the Crank Palace because he and his buddies respect Newt for everything he's been through. Newt appreciated it, even if he found the guy a bit weird.
but the second his "protector" decides to hit Thomas, he blasts him with a Launcher. okay.
(also, moving on to The Fever Code now because TDC has eternally traumatised me. there's tear stains on chapter 55. iykyk.)
