META 3 // Ginny’s Muggle Style ft lots of oversized hand-me-down boys jeans and shirts, sun dresses over t-shirts, overalls and crop tops. Some of these are post war when she has her own job though, cause before Molly buys her clothes and she 1. Wouldn't have the funds and 2. Would be like HELL NO to some of it. Bless the 90′s.

Oh hai there! I just wanted to mention to all the Harry’s out there that if I ever mention Ginny’s crush on him in our threads, you 100% don’t have to feel pressured into shipping or returning the feelings. They’re just canon feelings and I feel like an important step into her growth as a teenager and coming into her own confidence. One of Ginny’s main character arcs is finding her own self-worth, which I find fascinating and important. Just because Ginny has a crush, doesn’t mean our Hinny have to happen or be endgame. Growing out of unrequited love is a part of life.

META 2 // If anyone ever thinks that Ginny would actually allow one of her children to be named “ Severus ”, remember that one of her first true friends was Neville Longbottom, who’s boggart was Severus Snape while he was young.

Sure, she turned into a rather confident and popular person as she got older, but Ginny was an outcast in her first years of Hogwarts and Neville was kind to her. Ginny liked Neville so much that even though the love of her life/her preteen crazy obsession asked her to the Yule Ball, she went with Neville because he asked her first and danced with him while he continuously stepped on her feet without complaint. ( Actually think about his fact and if you were 13 years old and your biggest celebrity crush almost took you to a dance. You might just tell your friend sorry, but we’ll hang out while we’re there, ok? How many 13 year olds have that compassion? ) Neville who tried to come to Ginny’s rescue in OOTP when she was being taken to Umbridge by the Inquisitorial Squad. Who goes with all of them to the Ministry of Magic to rescue Sirius. Neville, who co-ran Dumbledore’s Army with her against the Death Eaters while the Golden trio where off finding Horcruxes. Who snuck out of bed at night with Ginny to paint “ Dumbledore's Army, still recruiting ” on the walls with her. Who tried to steal the sword of Gryffindor with her. Neville even promised Ginny that he’d send word to her if Harry returned to Hogwarts when the Weasley’s went into hiding because they both knew what that meant to her. That’s what they were to each other.

In the epilogue, 19 years later, she’s sends her kids to school telling them to “Send Neville our love!” because you know those kids saw Neville as much as Ron and Hermione, because Neville Longbottom is one of her best friends. So NO, even if Harry said that Snape was on their side the entire time she’s not going to name her child after the guy who belittled and bullied not only them, but her best friend so much as a kid that when he faced a Boggart it became his teacher.

#i've seen the argument around that ginny likes stupid names too ie. pigwidgeon #but severus isn't just a silly name. amazing & believable character whom was ultimately on the right side.#but it will never warrant him having her son named after him.#// meta.#// neville.#// snape.#sorry this got rambly but Ginny has a lot of feelings for her bestie #and i feel like it's such a piss off that she doesn't get a say in her kids names?

META 1 // I hate when people refer to Ginny as The Girl Who Waited. No, Ginny wasn’t the girl who waited. She was the girl who fought a different battle. One of my favourite things about Ginny is that she understands when Harry can’t be with her. Even if it’s for some stupid noble reason. She understands that his priorities can’t be being in a relationship, and she understands that while he rationalizes it as not wanting to put her in danger or make her go through losing him, she also understands that he can’t focus on saving the world if he’s watching over her too. But she doesn’t beg to go with him, because she doesn’t WANT to go. Part of it is actually trusting Harry, her brother and Hermione to do their job, and part of it is not trusting anyone else to do hers. Harry and Ginny live separate lives as kids, and her place was with Luna and Neville and Dumbledore’s Army. I strongly believe that the three of them made the conscious decision to defend Hogwarts and it’s students that year before they even got there, and while we only know of a couple instances of what they got up to while the Golden Trio was away ( trying to steal back the sword, running & recruiting for the DA ) I honestly believe that Ginny was a huge part of keeping the spirit alive among her team. Defending the innocent, caring for the wounded and broken, leading. This wasn’t Harry’s fight or war. It was EVERYONE’S, and her job wasn’t to stay by his side and hold him until he feels better. Her battle was a different one. And while it wasn’t “ Destroying parts of Tom Riddle’s Soul ” it was still Important with a capital I.

There’s a hesitation in Ginny that she’s learned to subside in the last year at Hermione’s advice when it comes to speaking with the crush that plagued her the past years, and she can’t help admitting there’s a bit of pride that she can look Harry Potter in the eye these days without transfiguring into a tomato. Granted now that Ginny has stopped thinking of him as Harry Potter and simply Harry, she’s noticed that he’s mostly just... regular. While a nob like Romilda Vane would think that sounded insulting, the youngest Weasley can’t help put feel a weight lifted off of her at the realization that she was being a bit of a git all of these years.

So instead of embarrassment, Ginny sends him an apologetic look in her hand-me-down Quidditch gear, knowing that with all the PRIDE she felt in making the team, she’d be absolutely devastated if there were suddenly a life-long ban placed on her.

So I really want to brush up on Ginny’s conversational speech. I’m not British, which is probably a little obvious. While I don’t think Gin was a total mess when it came to conversation, I do believe like most people, she’s definitely going to use a bit of slang and not always properly pronounce everything. I know I don’t. If you guys ever have any suggestions on how I can improve though, I love resources and constructive criticism as long as it’s done in a polite manner. :)

Ginny let’s out an exaggerated sigh as she looks at her eldest, trying to hide the pride in her voice and the love in her eyes. She wasn’t the sappiest mum around, but her kids were ADORED in their own right. There was a reason James’ head was so large and his personality so big. There was something about being the first born, with those years of undivided attention that only he had ever known, that stayed with any kid ( though Ginny had never known the luxury ). Still she remembered lazy afternoons while Harry was at work and it was just her and her son against everything else. Though that was mainly carefree things like Garden Gnomes and chocolate frogs.

“ Ya’ know kid, I miss the days where you didn’t even notice it was your BIRTHDAY. It all went downhill when you were old enough to read a calendar and suddenly the standards went up.” She was obviously just teasing since there were many-a-baby picture from his first birthday back in the garden of the Burrow.
