me: girls who dont wear makeup are literally told and showed that they should be wearing it to properly fit in and perform their gender. girls are literally told theyre unprofessional for not wearing makeup in work and academic settings. its a thing. this is literally a thing. why are we pretending this isnt a thing.

me: theres far more posts supporting girls who perform femininity properly. theres so many posts that directly attribute empowerment to wearing makeup.

me: its fucking everywhere in real life. no one is really telling girls not to wear makeup. and the people who do point to women who are wearing makeup as their standard for makeupless women and its always about looks. its always about how women look. always.
