Raven-Symone is the subject of a Change.org petition that's been signed by more than 100,000 people who want the "The View" co-host fired from the talk show. And a rep for the ABC show gave Gossip Cop an exclusive response to the controversy.
Anyone signing any petitions to get Raven Symone removed from the view can go ahead and stop. Honestly, The View’s response told me everything I needed to know. They don’t “love” Raven, they love that she can say everything her white co-stars can’t. She can spew all the racist and anti-black shit they need her to, and then they’ll label her “opinionated”. When she’s really just a girl looking for a check. THIS is why they brought her on. Not because she’s a child star. Not because they wanted to diversify the show. Because she’s essentially white power in blackface.
