Maintaining a healthy weight is so misunderstood in our society. Weโre told we need to keep our weight in check, but we end up living in extremes: either giving up and gaining more weight than is good for our bodies or striving for an unachievable leanness that is unhealthy for our bodies and our minds. ๐ผ I can honestly say that being โfitโ is about so much more than a number on the scale. Itโs about how much muscle vs. fat you have in your body. A person can weigh 100 pounds and have 30% body fat. That person may look โthinโ and yet be carrying more body fat than is healthy for the heart. ๐ผ The answer is to stop carrying an imbalance in your body by: 1๏ธโฃtaking care of yourself! Eating well, staying hydrated, working out. 2๏ธโฃFocus more on muscle building than on restricting your food intake. Restricting calories confuses your body into hanging onto excess fat, which is the opposite of what you want to accomplish! 3๏ธโฃ Fully accept and appreciate your body instead of criticizing it for not being โskinnyโ enough. 4๏ธโฃ Realize than your body is unique and it has its own โset pointโ weight (something I learned from @jessijeanfitness) at which it operates most happily. 5๏ธโฃ Take a permanent dieting break. Dieting is not good for your mind or your body, so stop! Allow yourself to eat and retrain your body to know when you feel full+satisfied โฅ๏ธ๐ https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnoll1DltE3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1nqf44zuj1630
