ABC of Bang Yongguk âș Q for Quotes
âand isnât your life a little more brighter when you see me?â she replies, another smile gracing her features. âbut iâm doing good, thank you for asking.â she chuckles. âoh, sorry! iâm just use to calling you mr. bang.â she gnaws on her bottom lip, reluctant on calling him by his first name. âyongguk.. has a nice ring to it. a wonderful name to a beautiful face, no?â Â
she wasnât even fazed at her words, seemingly because it was the truth. but also luna didnât have the word shame in her dictionary, and she continued on sweeping the floors and humming a small tune to carry along with her chores. âhow about you? howâs everything lately for you?â she never really knew anything about yongguk, except for the fact he worked at the same place with her and had a smile that got the motherâs that come into the store all smitten. she wouldnât lie that sometimes she feels the same way.
yongguk is becoming extremely overwhelmed by lunaâs straightforwardness. heâs never met anyone this assertive, excluding joohui and she doesnât count. thatâs his sister; he knows perfectly well how to handle himself in that scenario. but luna? totally different case. the grip he has on the broom tightens, quietly murmuring, âthank you, luna. your nameâs pretty too.âÂ
he finishes his part of the sweeping, right hand lifting to pat his cheeks to assert that they werenât tomato red anymore. they seemed cool enough to turn back to face the other, thus he places his cleaning item down and does so. he doesnât gaze directly at her, however, instead choosing to avert his attention to toy animals waiting to be stuffed with love. âgood as well. you know, itâs nice having a job i enjoy or else i donât think iâd be feeling as great. when i go home, at least i leave with a warm feeling. what about you? you seem to enjoy it here by the way youâre constantly smiling.âÂ
luna always loathed closing time. most workers loved the idea of going home but build-a-bear to her was a second home. she enjoyed her time there and seeing kids walk away with a radiant smile plastered across their face when they made a new friend made her feel like she accomplished something, and so, she continued to clean the store with a dejected pout on her face.Â
she hadnât even realized another soul occupied the same place with her until she heard a low grumble break the silence and she jumps embarrassingly, a pink tint flourishing her cheeks. âoh! mr. bang, i forgot you were here.â she bowed apologetically, hands gripping onto the broom handle tighter than before. âsomeoneâs a little nosy with my life. why? would you like to be in it as well?â luna liked teasing the older, only to see him panic and maybe if sheâs lucky, see his gummy smile that he adorns on his face.Â
wrinkles form on his forehead from scrunching his face because mr. bang? what in the world.. that makes it sound like heâs old, which he is not. forcing a small chuckle, yongguk shakes his head, a hand reaching out to dismiss her bow. âah, itâs fine. i get that a lot actually. also, you can just call me yongguk...â the man continues to sweep, only to almost drop his broomstick, mouth gaping open. âoh no! uh,â he slurs out quickly, trying to find the correct words to form a sentence.Â
tongue tied and nervous, he turns away from his coworker to hide his burning cheeks, afterwards coughing to clear his throat. âyou donât have to tell me anything. i was merely asking,â he responds, the pitch of his voice lowering deeper than it already is. that occurs when heâs panicked as hell. speaking up again, yongguk says, âand technically, iâm already in it... because we see each other almost everyday due to work..âÂ
( @psunluna )Â
itâs 15 minutes after 9 and the doors of build a bear workshop are safely locked for the night. yongguk had sent joohui and sana home first, deciding to stay behind to assist his coworker, luna, with cleaning. unsurprisingly, not much is known about the female (at least not much is known by him) other than that sheâs full of energy and cheerful. she lures in children and adults alike with that signature bright smile of hers. how he became aware of it, you ask? well, itâs typically hard not to acknowledge it when luna is surrounded by crowds of ecstatic, tiny people.Â
sighing, his gaze from the floor shifts to said person across from him before shifting to sweep again. âso.. luna.. howâve you been?â he asks rather awkwardly. heâs not sure whatâs worse: the uncomfortable silence before he opened his mouth or his awkwardness. he chooses the latter.Â
âYou mean whatâs left of it?â She chimes in a teasing manner. She always had the knack of pushing on peopleâs buttons, and her brother is no exemption to that. Joohui was against his new haircut, despite it being anything but new, which is why she doesnât let any opportunity to make a joke out of it slip past her fingers. âI kid, I kid. You look great.â The statement was followed by a snort as the female finished chewing on the last bit of her breakfast, before proceeding to empty her morning coffee. One cup is never enough when she has to deal with children for five hours straight, so she made a mental note to drop by a coffee shop later that day.Â
An apparent groan is heard from the younger one, but she knows better than to complain. âYes, sir!â She salutes at no one, diligent fingers stacking the plates on top of each other as well as the mugs used before making her way to the sink. She turns on the tap water after putting on a pair of gloves- she just did her nails the night before, like hell sheâll have them be ruined now. âOh, that reminds meâ Joohui calls out, loud enough to be heard over the sound of running water. âWe have to get the groceries today. Weâre out of juice!â
âThanks a lot, punk.â He mutters quietly as he sits down on their plushy living room couch. A hand reaches up to slide over his hair while the other aims for the tv remote. The cut isnât that horrible, really. His hair stylist had said it was a good look on him, and he trusts her judgement completely unlike his sisterâs. All of a sudden heâs not in the mood to watch anything anymore, thus he lays back and closes his eyes, arm hanging off to the side of the sofaâs arm. The sound of the running water is calming to the point of falling asleep, but Joohuiâs voice snaps him out of it.Â
âWeâre out already? I thought we bought a carton two days ago,â he blares in response. How much juice can a person drink? Yongguk sighs. âWeâll go after work. Is there anything else we need to stock up on? Iâll make a list, hold on.â Shifting his bottom off, he begins to head towards his room, grabbing his phone as soon as he spots it. Fingers unlock the screen and press on the notepad application while the older walks back into the kitchen. âJuice,â he states slowly, typing it into the device. âWhat else?âÂ
âMmâ Came her own shortened rendition of a âMorningâ as she lifts her elbow on the table, chin settling on the center of her palm, eyes at rest at the busy figure of his brother. Over the past few years theyâve decided to live independently from their parents, Yongguk has managed to learn a few (specifically three) recipes on his own, which is enough for the siblings to last a decade longer compared to living off of instant noodles. âThank you~â She chimes, fingers curling around the handle of her mug as she takes a small sip, hissing at the sting on her tongue from the heat she was asked to be cautious of. âWarn me earlier next time.â The younger one played it off like it wasnât her fault, scrunching her nose in distaste.
â10 oâclock sharp, if weâre talking about being punctual.â She says between chews, crumbs unceremoniously flying from her mouth to the place mats on the table. A true lady, Joohui is. âCould always clock in around the same time as you and tell them you were taking too long doing your hair.â Grinning, she takes another sip from her drink, more careful than before.
âHey, at least you canât say I didnât warn you.â He laughs, hand reaching for a piece of toast. As expected of Joohui. Words always manage to flow into her ears late for some unknown reason. He takes a quick glance at his hand watch that reads 8:45. Plenty of time to kill. âYou could,â he agrees while biting into his toast. âBut I wonât allow it. Anyway, pretty sure the whole world is aware that it takes less than 5 minutes to fix my hair.â Itâs like she doesnât even know him and he is slightly offended.
After gulping down his coffee, he raises the now empty cup as if to show it off and places it in front of the younger. âYour turn to wash dishes.â The chair heâs sitting in creates a sharp screech when he moves it back to leave the kitchen area, his feet leading towards the living room. TV sounds good right about now. Itâs not like he has to rush to get ready anyhow.Â

Pale covers rustled as the sleeping form beneath it awakens from deep slumber with a close-mouthed groan, arms stretched cat-like above her head before proceeding to blindly reach for the blaring sound of her alarm. It canât possibly be morning already, but the small rays of sunshine peaking through the blinds were enough indication to prove her thought otherwise. With a harrumph, Joohui dragged herself out of bed. She knows lazing around in bed any longer than necessary will give the people at work more reason to give her a load-full for the possibility of being late to work (again), and sheâd rather not deal with that.Â
âGuk-ah,â She greets sleepily upon entering the kitchen, resting her chin on the dining table after sitting down, eyes leering towards the general direction of her brother. âWhatâs for breakfast?â Joohui asks, as she does everyday, despite knowing he could hardly crack an egg open, much less cook anything other than that.
Four slices of toast are placed on a plate, each covered with a decent amount of butter. The coffee maker finishes filling up the mugs Yongguk had placed under it earlier and makes way to prepare the drinks to his and his sisterâs liking. Careful not to burn himself, he grabs the mugs by their handles before placing both on the kitchen counter top to join the sugar and cream. One teaspoon of sugar and cream for him and two and a half teaspoons of sugar and loads of cream for Joohui. He slowly looks up at the sound of, speak of the devil, his sisterâs voice.Â
âMorninâ, sleepy head,â he smiles, gums and all. âNothing special. Buttered toast and coffee. Here.â He stirs the liquid once more, making sure itâs blended well and finally walks over to the table with the toast platter and coffee mugs. âBe careful. Itâs still hot. The coffee, I mean,â he says while taking a seat. Itâs funny how he usually warns her about the tiniest things, but itâs not like he can help it either. âWhat time are you supposed to be in today?âÂ
