yongguk is becoming extremely overwhelmed by luna’s straightforwardness. he’s never met anyone this assertive, excluding joohui and she doesn’t count. that’s his sister; he knows perfectly well how to handle himself in that scenario. but luna? totally different case. the grip he has on the broom tightens, quietly murmuring, “thank you, luna. your name’s pretty too.” 

he finishes his part of the sweeping, right hand lifting to pat his cheeks to assert that they weren’t tomato red anymore. they seemed cool enough to turn back to face the other, thus he places his cleaning item down and does so. he doesn’t gaze directly at her, however, instead choosing to avert his attention to toy animals waiting to be stuffed with love. “good as well. you know, it’s nice having a job i enjoy or else i don’t think i’d be feeling as great. when i go home, at least i leave with a warm feeling. what about you? you seem to enjoy it here by the way you’re constantly smiling.”

she nods at his statement, agreeing to his idea. then her lips blossomed into another smile, embarrassed once more and she grazes her tongue over her bottom lip. “ah, you got me. there’s nothing better than being in a environment you enjoy, isn’t that right mr. b-” and she stopped, chuckling in the midst of her sentence.”i’m sorry, yongguk.” hiding her grin behind closed fist.

after being done with her errands, she put away her cleaning utensils and cleaned off her uniform and took off her book pack, graciously smiling at her bear. “sometimes, you really don’t need to be a kid to enjoy these kind of things.” while waiting for yongguk, she thought it wouldn’t be so bad asking him out. like on a date. a friend-date. yeah. “hey, yongguk, are you busy later?”

wrinkles form on his forehead from scrunching his face because mr. bang? what in the world.. that makes it sound like he’s old, which he is not. forcing a small chuckle, yongguk shakes his head, a hand reaching out to dismiss her bow. “ah, it’s fine. i get that a lot actually. also, you can just call me yongguk…” the man continues to sweep, only to almost drop his broomstick, mouth gaping open. “oh no! uh,” he slurs out quickly, trying to find the correct words to form a sentence. 

tongue tied and nervous, he turns away from his coworker to hide his burning cheeks, afterwards coughing to clear his throat. “you don’t have to tell me anything. i was merely asking,” he responds, the pitch of his voice lowering deeper than it already is. that occurs when he’s panicked as hell. speaking up again, yongguk says, “and technically, i’m already in it… because we see each other almost everyday due to work..”

“and isn’t your life a little more brighter when you see me?” she replies, another smile gracing her features. “but i’m doing good, thank you for asking.” she chuckles. “oh, sorry! i’m just use to calling you mr. bang.” she gnaws on her bottom lip, reluctant on calling him by his first name. “yongguk.. has a nice ring to it. a wonderful name to a beautiful face, no?”  

she wasn’t even fazed at her words, seemingly because it was the truth. but also luna didn’t have the word shame in her dictionary, and she continued on sweeping the floors and humming a small tune to carry along with her chores. “how about you? how’s everything lately for you?” she never really knew anything about yongguk, except for the fact he worked at the same place with her and had a smile that got the mother’s that come into the store all smitten. she wouldn’t lie that sometimes she feels the same way.

it’s 15 minutes after 9 and the doors of build a bear workshop are safely locked for the night. yongguk had sent joohui and sana home first, deciding to stay behind to assist his coworker, luna, with cleaning. unsurprisingly, not much is known about the female (at least not much is known by him) other than that she’s full of energy and cheerful. she lures in children and adults alike with that signature bright smile of hers. how he became aware of it, you ask? well, it’s typically hard not to acknowledge it when luna is surrounded by crowds of ecstatic, tiny people. 

sighing, his gaze from the floor shifts to said person across from him before shifting to sweep again. “so.. luna.. how’ve you been?” he asks rather awkwardly. he’s not sure what’s worse: the uncomfortable silence before he opened his mouth or his awkwardness. he chooses the latter.

luna always loathed closing time. most workers loved the idea of going home but build-a-bear to her was a second home. she enjoyed her time there and seeing kids walk away with a radiant smile plastered across their face when they made a new friend made her feel like she accomplished something, and so, she continued to clean the store with a dejected pout.

she hadn’t even realized another soul occupied the same place with her until she heard a low grumble break the silence and she jumps embarrassingly, a pink tint flourishing her cheeks. “oh! mr. bang, i forgot you were here.” she bowed apologetically, hands gripping onto the broom handle tighter than before. “someone’s a little nosy with my life. why? would you like to be in it as well?” luna liked teasing the older, only to see him panic and maybe if she’s lucky, see his gummy smile that he adorns on his face.
